Cellranger Pimps Up Your Signal

Hi, can you hear me know? What about now? Can you read me at least? Good, since I am writing, not talking to you! Do you happen to hear voices by any chance? Poor cell phone coverage, I know! It happens to the best of us. Even 3G networks get tired from time to time and they fail sending out their signal right. But don’t fear, Cellranger is here! Cellranger is a device invented to pimp your signal strength. No more missed calls or misinterpreted phrases.

OLPC XO Comes in Red

Is this a joke? And I certainly don’t mean the color. Red is not bad, RED is event better. I’d support a RED anything. But take a look at this XO. Is it a joke? It’s not that funny no matter what color you’d paint the XO Laptop in.

Camcorder Pen Anyone?

Here’s a good gadget to have around. This is a true writing pen, which happens to capture video and store it on a 4GB USB. It’s a little a la James Bond but it’s a perfect tool to have around. Who knows what needs to be recorded during your regular day? And if nothing spectacular happens, then you still get to write with it. The only downside is the price. It costs $250 over at BrickHouse Security. You could get an 8GB 3G iPhone right there and add Dell Windows XP upgrade for the same price.

Dell Has a Studio Hybrid PC

How small this PC right here do you think it is? Doesn’t it look like an Eee Box? Is it smaller? Rumored in April, this Dell Studio Hybrid has finally appeared. I don’t know if I like it yet. Apparently this was supposed to be an eco friendly PC but things don’t always turn as planned right?

So Mercedes Benz gets in line for offering its customers a new iPhone or iPod experience while driving. What did I tell you earlier about great marketing campaigns Apple has for its products? That’s why we don’t see any new features for the new Samsung Instinct being integrated into United Airlines. That’s why Mercedes Benz would cook up software and hardware devices made specifically for Apple’s products. Not because the iPhone became the best phone in the world.

Are you paranoid about backing up your work? So you should. I can count the times I’ve lost access to important data not properly backed up on one hand’s fingers. With My Book Mirror Edition from Western Digital, more data storage and proper back up, the things you were looking for, are properly delivered.

The Mirror Edition comes in two versions, 1TB priced at $289.99 and 2TB priced at $549.99. And you have two versions of using them. Either a RAID 1 setup which will actively use half of the total storage space for data while mirroring it on the other half, either a RAID 0 setup which gives you access to all that space for data writing with no mirroring.

What else for that price you ask? First of all you should be able to find online discounts for most products. But since you asked, the Mirror Edition comes with special software which will help you setup backing up rituals, there’s USB 2.0 connectivity involved and there’s a cute unnecessary capacity gauge to show you how much storage space is left. And for your convenience, you can easily replace drives at any time. Just open the box up, place the HDD under the pillow and reverse the process once you are awake.

Optoma, the leader in projector technology, has announced its plans to bring out the first Pico projector based on a DLP Pico chip in the latter part of 2008. The projector will be on display in the ongoing InfoComm 2008 even in Las Vegas at stall #C909. European and Asian markets will first be targeted with worldwide availability later on in 2009. We have already seen what the CKing projector phone is capable of, so it remains to be seen whether integrated projectors or standalones which are smaller/roughly the same size of a cell phone is the way to go. Either way, we definitely like the idea of carrying a mini-theater around with us!

Sony DR-BT140QP Bluetooth

I am looking for Bluetooth headsets from time to time but I very rarely tend to use one. It would free my hands in more cases but I am just too used to picking up the phone when I need to talk to anyone. Today I found this Sony DR-BT140QP and fell in love with its name immediately.

Opera 9.5 for Your Flash Drive

I have come across this interesting concept from Opera 9.5. Not only is it available for your PC and Mac, or your smartphone but now you can simply install it on your USB drive. And in case you “like” any Internet Explorer just as much as I do you might choose to use up 15MB of space on your drive to get a decent browser which will be always at hand.

Toshiba Qosmia X305
A few years back I was looking for powerful gaming laptops only, to suit all my needs. Now I turn to smaller and smaller devices to get me working while on the go, but I sure miss the times when I had more time to play games. Toshiba on the other hand has plenty of times for playing games on their new Qosmio X305.

500GB Expander Drive from Iomega

First question I had was if I could connect this 500GB Drive from Iomega to a PC. I know you are thinking about it too. Well, no, you can’t do it. At least not officially anyway. Piracy will not be supported by Iomega and that’s crystal clear.

Touch screen LCDs are beginning to surface more and more. We’ve seen the Shuffle 19 last week at Computex 2008, it’s time for Princeton Technologies to show us an LCD tablet for the Japanese market. Would you use one? Let’s say you are a regular Joe like me, not an artist who would love to get his hands on a stylus and make his work more efficient. Will you play with that a large touchscreen? I mean is it healthy for my eyes to get even closer to the screen? Is it healthy for my hands to be held in an uncomfortable position?

Do you remember this guy? What’s his name… Bull-something Steve right? Oh Ballmer, Steve, you say, CEO of Microsoft.

This video on YouTube basically circled Earth quite a few times and lots of people got to make fun of Steve Ballmer and Microsoft trying to laugh at the iPhone. I think it was high time someone replaced him but then again, I am just a blogger.
