Today is Blog Action Day, a special day for bloggers in which thousands of people get together (virtually) and talk about one subject: poverty.
At MobileWhack we’d like to offer a single tip on how to combat the poorness with technology. The tip is pretty simple: stop buying every top-notch gadget that is released.
In other words, instead of spending money by making monthly replacements of the latest cellphones, laptops, MP3 players, GPS systems, and other devices, save a bit and donate to a charity of your choice. The advice can be obvious and common sense for some folks, but for others that are geek-tech-obsessed it probably won’t be that normal.
Which charity to donate? Your choice! Check this list of charities against poverty and hunger if you’re undecided.

LG has unveiled its latest touchscreen phone called the SU100 at the Korean Electronics Show 2008 recently. Apart from a humongous 3-inch OLED touchscreen display, the SU100 also has a 3-megapixel camera, S-DMB TV receiver, worldwide roaming, Bluetooth, web browser, and an electronic dictionary. LG has also included an digital version of the popular Franklin planner, which is designed to make managing time much easier. For those who have no inkling as to what a Franklin planner is, just know that it’s a ring binder with lots of pages and accessories to consolidate tasks, appointments, and records to effectively manage what little time that we have.
The LG SU100 will be available on Korea’s SK Telecom carrier network before the end of the year at an unknown price.

Having made its debut at this year’s CES, WowWee’s Mr. Personality robot is making its way to availability.
The robot, which features a LCD screen for its face, promises to “display [it’s] personality with animated and synchronized facial features” to surely freak people out. It includes an SD card slot that can be used to add additional capabilities; it also has 64MB of internal memory, a remote control, and more tricks up its sleeve.
If you want all of that, be sure to hand over $300 worth of green before you can have that robot with its evil faces in your home.
