Just in case you were wondering, this is neither a picture from a Sc-Fi movie nor a PC game trooper! No, no, it is a high-tech battle uniform and it’s filled up with high tech gadgets: it’s got a webcam, a microphone, a virtual image display, cooling / heating systems, a mine and chemical weapon detector, a friend-or-foe detection system and as I am sure, many more! So where’s the phone you ask? I take it there should be some kind of communication device inside it.

The new stormtrooper uniform will be created by South Korea’s Agency for Defense Development. The completion of this ‘’stormtrooper” is just the second phase of the program taking place in the first 2 quarters of 2009; the first one including the actual uniform plus bullet-proof helmet and the next generation rifle.

Is the world ready for this? If the latest generation uniform is on the making, is the matching confrontation coming up?!? The one effect stated ’til now, is, at least, the increasing number of teenss excited about enrolling in the army after the news came out. Will we be able to get the new uniform with a 2-year plan from Verizon? I bet we’d end up with a lot of voice minutes.
