  • electrobike.jpg With skyrocketing gas prices found nearly everywhere in the world now, it might be a good time to look into more fuel-efficient ways of getting around. Bike riding is the ultimate environmentally and wallet-friendly mode of transportation, but for those going long distances, it’s not quite as convenient.

Panasonic has just unveiled its new Electric Motocross bike, which pretty much looks like a regular bike, but also has electric power to help you keep moving when your legs have tired out. The bike comes in your choice of green or orange.

The bikes will be available for purchase beginning June 1st, but can now be pre-ordered. Like most cool technology, this bike is launching only in Japan for the time being. It will cost 89,800 Yen (including tax).

  • Fired by Text Message? Ouch.

How would you feel about getting fired through a text message? It happened to Katy Tanner, a 21-year old sales assistant at a body-piercing and clothing shop in Cardiff, England. Tanner worked at the store for only 8 weeks and was shocked when she received the text message from her boss informing her that she had been fired.

The store chain defends the action an excuse of being in step with youth culture in which SMS messaging is a major means of communications. They also wanted to spare Tanner the embarrassment coming to her work only to be sent home.

  • Will the cost of a PS3 drop?

ps3-view.JPG The cool but pricey Playstation 3 could potentially see a drop in its price in the not-so-distant future. How so you say? Well it won’t be by slashing features, but the cost of one of the integral parts of the PS3 is coming down, which could mean a drop in prices on the gaming console itself. The pick-up head (PUH) is an important part of any High Definition optical drive (including the PS3), and is seeing an impressive $100 wholesale price drop. While it’s not likely that Sony will knock off a full $100 on the price of the PS3, they could take off maybe even $50 and still make people happy. Making us consumer happy is the ultimate goal because, after all, we’re the ones determining the sales. And Sony, well they desperately need sales of the PS3 to pick up if they want any hope of competing in the next-gen console wars.
