We were actually waiting for Steve Jobs to return on stage where he belongs. Whether you like or hate the guy, you have to admit he sure knows how to speak to the crowds. And Steve Jobs was present at Apple’s rock and roll event ready to show off the company’s newest toys.
Steve Jobs had a liver transplant from a 20-year old who died in a car crash:
I’m very happy to be here with you all. As some of you might know, I had a liver transplant.
But now he looks ready and confident to deliver all the good news so we should be back with all the details about the hot new iPods. And Apple’s event will reveal a lot of interesting things: iPhone OS 3.1, iTunes 9, ringtones in the iTunes store, Genius feature in the App Store and of course, the new iPods.

We’ve seen the BlackBerry Bold 9700 press shot photo way ahead of its official launch so maybe these are the real pictures of the upcoming iPod touch 5G and the iPod nano 3G. Or maybe they are simply photoshopped images meant to grab some attention. We noticed the camera of the touch and bigger screen of the nano but we still require official confirmation. With only a few hours to go we can definitely tell you we’ll keep a keen eye on Apple’s keynote and bring all the hot details to you.

You’d better sit down for this although by the time I finished explaining you’ll see how this isn’t such a big deal after all. Sony’s Walkman players have beaten the Apple’s iPod lineup in sales. According to BCN Inc, a research company from Tokyo, the Walkman series had 43% market share for the week ending on August 30 while iPod came second with 42.1%.
It’s the first time in four years that Sony beats Apple in the music player business but here’s why this isn’t such a big deal. It looks like the iPhone isn’t considered part of the iPod line which means that everyone that purchased an iPhone wasn’t counted. Sure it’s a phone but it’s also a powerful player. And since the iPhone 3GS is the best-selling phone in Japan we wouldn’t be surprised to see the numbers above change a bit.

The “only rock and roll” event will take place at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts Theater in San Francisco and as you can clearly see it’s only going to be about rock and roll. We have some good news for future Zune HD owners! According to this pamphlet right here, the Zune Marketplace will be filled with music, HD movies, TV shows and podcasts. The pamphlet has been handed out at Best Buy’s Zune HD showings so it’s as official as it can get. We were kind of expecting HD movies availability from the Marketplace anyway. What else would you need a Zune HD for?

The Zii EGG is finally out in the open officially and starting today you might have your unit shipped to your door. As you can see in the hands-on videos above and below the Zii EGG is working perfectly. According to the lucky owner the screen compares “very favorably” with the S Series Walkman and the Zii seems to bring “the bet sounding Creative player” so far. What do you think? Would you buy a Creative Zii EGG or are you going to wait and see what new iPods are going to be launched in September?

We’ve known for a while now that Microsoft is planning some sort of application delivery method for their Windows Mobile handsets but the same could not be said for the Zune HD. However, if the above videos is anything to go by, Ballmer and his boys may be working on an app store for the Zune, too.
The video comes to us from a Qik user by the name of Matthew Akin who took the video at a recent Best Buy Zune HD preview. As you can see, in the Marketplace there is an Apps link, but what could it possibly lead to?

While Yinlip probably isn’t the most well known of gadget manufacturers, they deserve to be upon seeing their offerings. like the one above, their latest PMP, the Projector MP5.
This device is somewhat unique in that is has the ability to project an 80″ image using its built in projector. Couple that with its 3.5″ screen and ability to play 64 bit games and you have yourself a winner.
Unfortunately, the chance of us ever seeing this hit stores outside of China remains slim to none. Perhaps a domestic manufacturer will pick up on the technology. Please?
