It’s not the first time Movea presents an unusual mouse, a couple of months ago it was the Gyration Air Mouse, and this time they’ve released the Air Mouse Elite. Like the name suggests, you can work with this mouse in the “air”, in other words, there’s no need for a base like a mousepad.
The Air Mouse Elite has a limit range of 100 feet and it costs $100. For $50 more you also get the wireless keyboard by Movea. How to use this mouse? Pretty simple, just make slight movements with your wrists and you’re ready to start working.

The stick you see in the picture here is not a stick but it’s a future Dell laptop. The teaser picture has been released yesterday but it’s no wonder people missed it since everyone was thinking iPod thoughts. There are no details about this MacBook Air-like computer as Dell wanted to tell the world about it precisely on 09/09/09. It must have something to do with the fact that this Adamo is only 9.99mm thick. We’re not going to go into the whole numbers and their signification. After all nobody wants to turn those 9s into 6s and start thinking unholy thoughts.
Getting back to the laptop in the picture, we can expect it to cost a lot more than we would normally want to pay for a laptop running laptop and we can expect it not to impress us in any way. What do you say Dell? Can we be wrong?

Sure, it may not be Apple’s fabled iTablet but it is a tablet all the same — The device you see above is Sinchun’s UMPC-501 Windows XP powered tablet.
This device will feature a 1.1Ghz Intel Atom processor, 1GB of RAM, an unannounced amount of SSD hard drive space, WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS and a removeable battery.
While we most likely won’t be sitting this his North American shelves any time (if ever) it is to hit Japan sometime later this month for around $441.

Samsung Electronics may be busy releasing new mobile phones and OLED TVs but if rumors are true, we may yet see another first from them in the form of OLED laptops by 2010. As we all know, OLED technology has been the rave of the people for the past months and should this same technology be used in future laptops under the Samsung brand, you can bet that many techies are going to love it.
Imagine thinner frames, longer battery life and perhaps further reducing the weight of laptops are just some of the things that a Samsung OLED laptop would carry. And considering that they are one of the largest OLED manufacturers in the world, the probability of seeing these new concept laptops from Samsung is not impossible. If it does push through, expect a new wave of demand for this new feature, something that their competitors are bound to be studying as we speak.

I bet nobody in Redmond expected this but Sony has decided to adopt Google’s Chrome as the default browser for its future Vaio line. Google and Sony have reached an agreement according to which future desktops and laptops will come with Google Chrome on board. The browser will point to Google for homepage and search queries but I guess that was more than logical wasn’t it? Google will probably approach other manufacturers soon which isn’t such a bad thing after all. This move will surely annoy Microsoft on one hand and all the other developers in the Internet browsing business which will only lead to improved browsing solutions in the near future. What browser do you currently use?

If you’ve been paying attention you’ll know that a few days ago a law suit arose between Smartbook AG and anyone using the term ‘smartbook‘. One such company by the name of Qualcomm has been known to make use of said term.
Unfortunately for them, a German court has recently forbid Qualcomm from using the term as Smartbook AG says it is an “absurd” and “bold attack” on its brand. If Qualcomm does not follow the court’s wishes they could face a fine of up to €250,000 (over $350,000 USD) and/or arrest. Ouch.

It seems that a German company by the name of Smartbook AG is unpleased with companies utilizing the term ‘smartbook‘. In fact, they have recently told Netbooknews.de to stop using the term as Smartbook AG holds the trademark and copyright and the use of it is tarnishing their reputation.
What’s strange is the company has told the website to remove all references from the term on both their US and German websites which doesn’t make sense because they are based in Germany, not the US.
What would make more sense is if Smartbook AG went after companies deeming their products smartbooks, not the media.

Laptop Battery Express has a new external battery to show the world called the Universal External Laptop Battery. The reason they added the universal moniker is because the battery ships with a plethora of different connectors making sure any laptop you throw at it will be able to be juiced up.
Depending on your laptop, you’re looking at about an additional 4 hours (66Wh) and they even threw in a USB port for charging your phone, MP3 player or whatever else.
Unfortunately for Mac users, there is no MacBook connector, bummer.
