Altec Lansing, today unveiled a series of ultra-light, ultra- portable Bluetooth and corded speaker systems designed to deliver clear, rich audio directly from MP3 enabled mobile phones, iPods, laptops and other portable digital devices. The Company also unveiled the latest PC speaker system for flat-panel displays.
The leading product in the new Altec Lansing inMotion portfolio is the iMT521 SoundBlade stereo Bluetooth speaker system - a modern and stylish sound panel featuring dual 2″ full-range high output speakers and full stereo Bluetooth v.2 for wireless connectivity with most A2DP stereo Bluetooth mobile phones and laptops.
The Altec Lansing iMT521 SoundBlade is equipped with AVRCP for two-way remote volume, mute and track forward/back controls from a cellular handset. Plantronics announced a new Bluetooth headset in its Voyager series. The new Plantronics Voyager 855 is a unique mono-to-stereo convertible Bluetooth headset featuring AudioIQ DSP, a noise reduction technology. JBL unveiled two new headphones in its Reference line-up. The JBL Reference 420 and Reference 610 offer comfort and JBL’s signature high quality audio. The Reference 420 is designed for use when traveling, offering plenty of bass and weighing in at just 170 grams. Of course, don’t be fooled by its light weight; it is rugged enough to handle the hazards of travel.
The JBL Reference 610 headphones on the other hand offer wireless comfort thanks to Bluetooth support. You can pair almost any of your Bluetooth-enabled gadget to listen to audio comfortably without disturbing your roommates. When using with Apple’s iPod, you can leave the player in your pocket, since the Reference 610 also features music control buttons for the iPod. You can control volume, track selection and play/pause directly from the headphones. The necessary iPod dongle is supplied with the headphones.

The 16mm wide MDR-EX700SL is a significant addition to Sony’s EX Monitor series earphones. It has sensitivity of 108dB/mW, impedance of 16O and delivers an output of 200mW. The earpieces has multiple layer diaphragms made from high polymer materials which reduce the vibrations while maintaining high sound quality. The stereo mini plug is gold plated and the cable is 1 meter long.
Sony MDR-EX700SL earphones will go on sale in Japan on October 20 for 36,750 Yen ($ 315).

Sennheiser, that revered Danish audio company, announced its new FLX 70 wireless mobile headset with FlexFit design for an easy, personal wearing comfort. Designed with a turnable speaker for optimal fit to your ear canal and an optioanl ear hook for over-the-ear wearing, you can wear it on either ear. The included three sizes of speaker silicone covers allow for a more personal fit. In addition, a semi-open acoustic system keeps your ears from feeling plugged.
As for the speaker itself, it boasts the usual Sennheiser quality and has its own unique ventilation. The integrated DSP optimizes speech intelligibility and reduces noise. It is targeted for a November 2007 release. No word on the pricing yet, though.

Here is another portable speaker from Creative. The TravelSound i50 is a Portable speaker for 2nd generation iPod shuffle. The top part of the unit is where you dock the iPod Shuffle and connect it with the headphone output of the iPod.
The speaker measures 128×47×15mm (vertical × side × thickness) and weighs 85 grams. It has a micro driver unit and 4 digital amplifier to ensure perfect sound quality. As for its connectivity options, it sports a 700mW×2ch with a playback frequency zone of 180Hz - 20kHz and Signal-noise ratio 80dB.
The device is powered by a lithium polymer charge battery and has a life span of approximately 15 hours in one charge. You can charge it through its USB terminal and not only charges the speaker, but the iPod as well. Bundled along with the product are the USB cable and the carabiner equipped hand strap.

IOGear’s new Bluetooth hands-free car kit will hit the markets soon. The model, cryptically called the IOGear GBHFK211W6, lets you make/receive calls when driving, and also doubles up as a portable speakerphone for your home/office. The device claims superior noise cancellation in the form of Digital Echo Cancellation and Background Noise Reduction. If you have a Bluetooth enabled laptop, you can use it to make VoIP calls as well.
One of the nice things about the IOGear GBHFK211W6 is that it can be charged using a standard car charger or over USB. A class 2 Bluetooth device, it supports a range of about 30 feet (10m). If disconnected from a Bluetooth device for more than 30 minutes, the device shuts itself off to save battery.
The packaging includes the Bluetooth hands-free car kit, a USB charging cable, car charger, easy-to-plug-in Sun visor clip and two AAA rechargeable batteries, along with a user guide. Pairing is easy, use the usual “0000″ code with your Bluetooth mobile phone or compatible computer.

San Francisco based Aliph announced that its Jawbone Bluetooth headset will now be available in the UK starting today through a partnership with The Carphone Warehouse. The Jawbone headset incorporates technologically advanced features, including a military-grade noise cancelling system titled Noise Shield that aids in clear conversations even in noisy environments.
The Noise Shield system eliminates background noise while dynamically adjusting the microphone and earpiece volume. Priced at £79.99, the Jawbone Bluetooth head is now available across the UK.

iSkin, the accessory company based in Toronto, Ontario mostly known for its iPod cases, which it first released in 2002 has just presented its new Cerulean X1. It is a set of ear earphones that work with iPods and other devices equipped with headphone jacks.
The Cerulean X1 earphones feature 9mm neodymium drivers that reduces ambient noise by providing a snug fit inside your ear canals, blocking other ambient noise out.
The Cerulean X1s ship with three sets of interchangeable silicone comfort buds to provide optimal fit and noise isolation. It lets you customize the fit to your ear. They’re made of soft silicone. The ear buds come in two color combinations — Onyx (black) and Blizzard (white).
What’s also appealing about these earphones is that they (at least from the online images) look very sleek. What is very interesting is the look of the metal alloy speaker housing before you put on the buds. Sure beats the crappy buds which come with the iPod.

Jabra has a new Bluetooth headset. The Jabra BT8040 features volume controls, call answer/end button and a charging socket. Minimalistic design - ideal for small devices. Depending on network and cell phone capabilities, the B8040 can also do voice dialing, last number redial, call waiting and call holding.
One of the new features on the Jabra BT8040 is Multi-point, allowing the headset to connect to two Bluetooth devices at the same time. As if one phone wasn’t a distraction enough, now you can keep two phones in your car and talk away to glory. Jabra claims a 6 hour talk time and 200 hours standby.
