Navman has a few GPS devices that are popular for the good features and cheap price, one of them is the F50 that was released in 2007, but their latest system is the S100 which is also the first model in the fresh S-Series.
Boasting a super flat 4.3-inch widescreen, the S100 makes use of the Spirit software and their UI named Glide Touch. The system has improved a couple of features when compared to previous models, like the inclusion of Local Search made via Infobel, 3D landmarks, and the NacPix photo navigation with geo-tagging functionalities.
As it always happens on GPS navigation systems, there is an economical routing to save some gas, a MP3 player, and junction views.
The Navman S-Series S100 is priced at £200 ($340) and will become available next month, in November 2008.

Slacker G2 incorporates key navigational features and a portable radio player. It is indeed a phenomenal concept that could go off. Its very attractive to music lovers who don’t have the money to buy all of the tunes they want. The Slacker G2 is of course, an upgrade to the bulky and buggy first-gen player. In this device, you have all the station updates over Wifi with the same link to Slacker’s online music service. The new player offers a better portable version of that experience than Slacker’s first-generation Portable Radio.
The G2 sports a 320-by-240-pixel TFT screen which is nicely visible in sunlight, and it displays extensive information about bands and albums while a song is playing. The background data includes extensive band bios and album reviews from All Music Guide–another big reason that the Slacker G2 shines as a device for music discovery. Furthermore, a more conventional user will love Slacker G2’s throwback controls. They’re all (more…)

Garmin has presented a new GPS system codenamed GPSMAP 640, that will be put on the 2-in-1 category because it can work on the sea, and on the road. The rugged and waterproof GPS has a big 5.2-inch WVGA touchscreen, and as usual, it comes preloaded with maps of North America, plus U.S. coastal BlueChartg2 charts - for the people navigating on the sea.
Thanks to the marine mount, the GPSMAP 640 is able to know when to use the marine mode and the terrestrial mode. Insignia has released a new GPS system entitled NS-CNV20, which will be for sell at BestBuy when it becomes available to the public. One of the main points of attraction is the inclusion of a cellular modem, so you can make use of the internet to have access to plenty of services such as (real time) traffic updates, and searches made in Google.
The Insignia NS-CNV20 boasts a 4.3-inch screen with bluetooth, and probably has all the multimedia features that others GPS systems offer.
In order to keep the maps updated, a visit to Geek Squad must be done. The Geek Squad Map Update Service works 4 times a year, and the subscription is free for the first year. In addition to “those” maps, you can also use Google Maps on your personal computer, and afterwards transfer the information needed to the GPS system.

All the way from Japan comes a new set of GPS drives made by Pioneer, with the following codenames: HRZ099, HRZ088, HRV022, and HRV011. The four new GPS systems are pretty similar, all of them have a drive that can read DVDs, CDs, MP3s, AAC, and also DivX files.
The difference between each model can be seen in the small details, for example, the HRZ009 and HRZ008 are perfect for the music people, because they come with a built-in amplifier that provides good sound power - 50W x 4. If you like to watch movies, the HRZ009 is also a good choice thanks to the big resolution of 800×480, while all the other models have a smaller 480×234.

Garmin already has plans to start selling the new 265T and 265TW GPS devices, and for now you can catch them online at GPSNow. While the 265WT has a price tag of $350, his small brother is cheaper and costs $300.
The main difference between each other is the display size. Obviously, the most expensive GPS has a bigger screen that measures 4.3-inches and goes straight to the widescreen category. In the meanwhile, the cheaper system comes with a 3.5-inch display.
Besides the display screen, all the other specifications are the same – which means that you get turn-by-turn directions in form of a male/female voice, hands-free calling so you don’t have any accidents on the road caused by speaking and driving at the same time, preloaded maps by Garmin’s nüMaps Guarantee which include more than 6 millions points-of-interest, and much more.
A detail that makes the Garmin nuvi 265T and 265WT appealing for everyone is the “Where Am I?” function, so you can always know your location, be it on foot or car.

Singace Studio has a new GPS concept called My Way. And I bet you’d certainly be on your way with My Way. There are two interesting ways for you to reach your destination. The Target Mode will offer you the fastest way while the Cruise Mode is the more fun alternative.
Signce Studio says:
Discover a new two mode navigational experience. Often you need to get from A to B as efficiently as possible. “Target Mode” covers those situations when time is of the essence and navigation has to be unmistakable. [On the other hand,] sometimes you are lucky enough to have some unexpected spare time. Your would prefer to roam around and discover new places rather than just go straight from A to B. “Cruise Mode” helps you arrange your trip so as to make spontaneous discoveries along your way.
Well unless I am in a hurry to get to a certain location, I’d definitely choose the Cruise Mode. I like discovering things when I am traveling. I just need a price and a ship date.

Navigon has two new GPS ready for you, the 1200 and the 1210. The only difference between them is the map package. The 1200 comes with maps only for Germany, Austria and Switzerland while the 1210 comes equipped with maps for all 40 countries in Europe. Well that’s silly. I would assume the 1210 has the same maps the 1200 has. So why not get the 1210 from the start?

With all the hype going to the newly released iPhone 3G, news and development of other mobile (and more useful) devices have been overshadowed. Garmin quietly released two new nuvi models with preloaded maps of Mexico. This is perfect for those who wants to have their vacations down south.
The Garmin nuvi 200 Mexico includes pre-loaded maps of the lower 48 states, Hawaii, Puerto Rico and Mexico, but does not include a text-to-speech function while the Garmin nuvi 260W Mexico includes everything plus a text-to-speech function.
Units sold in the U.S. are bi-lingual so, you don’t have to worry about translations and misunderstandings. The Mexican maps use NAVTEQ data, and are the same ones that you find with City Navigator Mexico NT, which have around 12,000 points of interest.
