Olympus released a whole plethora of digital cameras recently and here is all the lowdown! The Olympus FE-250, FE-240, FE-210 and Olympus FE-230 are all point and shoot cameras and are ideal for both first timers and advance users.
The Olympus FE-210 and Olympus FE-230 are both 7 megapixel shooters and have been equipped with a 3x optical zoom (equiv. to 38-114mm on a 35mm model) lens and a 2.5 inch LCD. The FE-230 features the TruePic TURBO image processor which is lacking in the FE-210 and both include the ?one button, one function? design principle. Other features include; xD-Picture Card support, Movie Mode, Macro Mode, Preset Scene Modes etc. The Olympus FE-210 is expected to hit stores in February 2007 and the FE-230 should be available in February 2007, with an estimated High Street price of just ?150.00.
The Olympus FE-240 and the Olympus FE-250 are the more advance shooters in the series and while the former has a 7MP resolution, the latter is an 8 megapixel digicam. Both have a 2.5 inch LCD and the FE-250 also has BrightCapture Technology. One comes across a 3x optical zoom (equiv. to 35-105mm on a 35mm model) lens on the FE-250 where as FE-240 has been equipped with a high performing 5x optical zoom (equiv. to 38-190mm on a 35mm model). Other features include; TruePic TURBO, 15 scene modes (e.g. Candle, Indoor or Sport), Internal memory plus xD-Picture Card slot, Movie recording with sound up to card capacity etc.
The Olympus FE-240 will be available in UK camera shops from February 2007 with an estimated price of ?180 and the s FE-250 for ?200.00.

HasselBlad recently unveiled their impressive H3D-31 DSLR camera, which is aimed specifically at professional mobile photographers. This beauty of a camera features a 31-megapixel 44- x 33 mm sensor and micro-lenses that bring ISO up to 800. Other features include a 1.2 seconds per image capture rate, mobile and tethered modes, and Hasselblad’s proprietary Natural Color Solution that claims to cut down on post-processing duties.
The HasselBlad H3D-31 offers flexibility for professional photographers, giving them the freedom to choose between eye-level and waist-level viewfinders, digitally APO corrected lenses, and on-the-fly classification of images. It also offers photographers the freedom to work with film to allow shooting under extreme conditions.
For such quality features, you can expect to pay a pretty penny for this digital camera. It’s available for just $24,995.

Olympus has launched a great new 7.1 megapixel camera, the Olympus Stylus 760. It features 3x optical zoom, a 2.5-inch LCD display, and dual image stabilization. The camera is housed in a slim-line weatherproof metal body, and comes in your choice of three colors: Light Silver, Dark Blue, and Ruby Red.

Other features of the phone include BrightCapture technology, 23 scene modes, 25 languages pre-loaded, internal memory, and xD-Picture Card slot. The camera comes bundled with the Olympus Master software, which allows you to edit, view, and archive photos on your computer.
The camera will launch in March 2007 at the suggested retail price of ?200 , or about $400 USD.

Today BenQ announced two new 6-megapixel cameras - the DC E610 and the C610 - which will be available in the European market.
The BenQ C610 digital camera features a sliding front cover and fashionable exterior, as well as a 6-megapixel CCD sensor and large 2-inch LTPS LCD screen. The BenQ C610 runs off of AA batteries. Of the two new models, this is the more entry level one.
The BenQ E610 digital camera has more features than the C610 model. This model features a 6.1 megapixel CCD sensor, 3x optical zoom, advanced smc PENTAX lens, and a beautiful 2.4-inch TFT LCD screen. The premium PENTAX lens gives the camera enhanced sharpness and color presentation. For both video and photo capture modes, the DC E610 has a nice shake-free option to reduce the effects of shakey hands. The video capture mode allows to you record 30 frames per second VGA.
No details regarding pricing have been revealed. BenQ stated that the cameras are available in Europe right now, although it does not look like they’ve updated their website to make it available there as well. If you’re in the market for one of these, you may wish to check with a local retailer.

Canon announced today, two new entry-level PowerShot A-Series model digital cameras, the 7.1 megapixel Canon PowerShot A550 and the 5.0 megapixel PowerShot A460. Both of these new models are packed with features, and offer consumers the latest technological advancements.

The Canon PowerShot A550 is a 7.1 megapixel model with 4x optical zoom, DIGIC II image processor, and a 2-inch LCD screen. This model is replacing last year’s PowerShot A530 model, and features higher resolution, larger screen, and better battery life. It is also compatible with MMC, SD, and SDHC memory cards, and an enhanced movie mode that can record 30fps VGA clips. It retains many of the classic A-series features, including an optical viewfinder and comfortable handgrip.
The Canon PowerShot A460 digital camera is a 5.0 megapixel model featuring 4x optical zoom, a 2-inch LCD screen, and the DIGIC II image processor. It also has an optical viewfinder, and is compatible with MMC, SD, and SDHC memory cards.
Both the Canon A550 and the Canon A460 digital camersas will be available in stores in mid-February. The A550 will sell for $199.99, and the A460 will go for $149.00. Pictured here is the A550 model.
