Sure, Verizon may have yet to officially announce the BlackBerry Storm 2 but that hasn’t stopped them from hinting at it, unofficially announcing it and just generally letting us know that they are definitely getting it at some point.
To add further kindle to the fire the device itself has actually appeared on Verizon Wireless’ website today only to be quickly pulled down. Luckily BGR got the above screen shot as proof for you nonbelievers.

We have talked about the Motorola Droid in the past weeks and now we have a few official pictures of the device for you. And from what we hear, the phone is one of the best Android handsets to walk the earth. At least until know. Motorola seems to have developed a winner phone and Verizon Wireless customers will be able to enjoy it soon.
Let’s take a look at some specs before we jump to more photos:
Doesn’t the Droid sound exciting? It might just become the Motorola phone to beat in the near future. The handset will probably be the fastest and thinnest Android slider phone out there when Verizon decides to launch it. HTC should definitely start working on an Android phone capable of similar features.

It seems that Verizon is unhappy with the success of the iPhone on AT&T. So unhappy in fact that they have felt the need to start a new marketing campaign completely aimed at the handset.
As you can see from the above promotional material Verizon is asking customers “If the iDoesn’t what does?” and then tells them to tune in this weekend to find out “what does”. This is most likely an attempt by Verizon to show off their new handsets and compare them directly with the iPhone, focusing on the highly sought after device’s faults.

Verizon Wireless has just updated their Twitter feed letting us know that the Palm Pre will be hitting the carrier earlier than we expected.
As you can see from the above screen shot, Verizon expects to have the Palm Pre “early next year”. Exactly when early next year remains a mystery but at least those webOS fiends on Verizon now have something to look forward to.

I bet you’re really excited about the new Storm 2! We’ve seen the videos, we’ve heard the stories, and now we’re looking forward to see Verizon Wireless launch one of the most interesting BlackBerry smartphones created so far. BlackBerry lovers will have a tough time choosing between the Storm 2 and the Bold 2. But if they’re looking for a large touchscreen display with a totally redesigned tactile feedback then the Storm 2 is the way to go.
In an interview with the New York Times, Verizon’s CEO, Lowell McAdam has spilled the beans on the Storm 2. It looks like the smartphone will be launched at some point this week which means we’ll have all the Storm 2 details ready for you in the following days. Let’s hope that this time around the new Storm will not disappoint us like its predecessor did a year ago.

Verizon customers are already aware that their favorite carrier is currently running a BOGO promotion when it comes to RIM smartphones. Choose any BlackBerry, except for the Tour, and Verizon will offer another one for free. Sure you’ll have to get a new contract but hey, a free phone is a free phone after all. The flyer below happens to suggest that the Storm 2 will also be included in this promotion. Verizon isn’t saying anything official yet but you’d have to admit that the thought of you walking away with the BlackBerry Storm 2 for the price of one this Christmas is pretty sweet. We’ll gladly confirm everything soon since Verizon is supposed to sell the Storm 2 by the end of November.

Verizon Wireless has a brand new phone displayed on its website. The HTC Imagio will be available for $199.99 after a $100 online discount and with a 2-year contract. The good news is that this handset comes with Windows Mobile 6.5 on board and Verizon is not afraid to show that. After all today is the day when Windows Mobile 6.5 got official and Microsoft partners are proud to announce all these phones capable of running its latest mobile OS.
The Imagio will offer you a 3.6-inch touchscreen WVGA display, a 5-megapixel camera, HTC’s TouchFLO 3D UI and a few popular Verizon services like: VZ Navigator, Visual Voice Mail and V CAST Mobile TV. Any takers?

In case you don’t know, Verizon and Google reached an important agreement today. Ignoring Microsoft’s special day, the two giants said that they will work together to bring the Android experience to Verizon subscribers soon.
The first two phones coming to Verizon stores are the Motorola Droid, rumored to be available on October 30 and HTC’s Hero which will hit the streets sometime in November. We don’t have the precise details yet but everything is confirmed. Check out Google’s CEO Eric Schmidt and Verizon’s CEO Lowell McAdam holding Verizon branded Android phones in the picture above. What more of a confirmation do we need?

If that Motorola Droid seems rather strange to you well then we’ll happily remind you that you already know it as the Tao or the Sholes. The phone is supposed to be the first Android handset coming to Verizon Wireless and now we have some leaked info which point to a October 30 release date. The picture here shows a Verizon Wireless screenshot. The Motorola Sholes can be clearly read in that October 30 box so we naturally assume that the phone is coming at the end of the month. Wait a minute there… are we calling it the Sholes again? Someone has to make up their mind regarding the name of this first Verizon Android phone. We really don’t care how you call it as long as you stick to a single name!

We’re not surprised to see stuff leaked from Best Buy and this time we have some details about the company’s upcoming holiday releases. And there are quite a few phones there ready to capture your imagination, but also a netbook we’ve seen in the news lately:
We’re particularly interested in that “new technology which doesn’t exist today” mentioned in the leaked documents and we definitely want to hear more about those BlackBerry and multiple Android phones which will also be available from Best Buy soon. We’ll be back with official prices and release dates so in the mean time you have plenty of time to decide what phone to ask from Santa this Christmas!

We have referred to it as the Sholes and the Tao but it looks like the first Android phone coming from Verizon will be called the Droid. And we’ll start straight with some bad news! The Droid will be a clean Android phone with no MOTOBLUR on top of it. Sadly, and for whatever reason, someone decided that the phone shouldn’t have Motorola’s highly customized social networking interface.
Here’s what specs you can expect from the Droid:
And if you want a keyboard-less version of the Droid then you’re going to get one sometime in 2010. So what do you say? Anxious about any of these two Droid versions?

Those of you waiting for RIM’s BlackBerry Storm 2 should head to Best Buy stores on or around October 25. That’s the date when the Storm 2 dummy phones will be available in Best Buy phones which suggest the fact that we’re getting closer and closer to the actual release date of RIM’s newest flagship phone. After all there’s no point sending those dummy phones to retailers if the real version won’t be available soon. There’s no official news from Verizon or RIM to support all that but we shall keep our eyes wide open for more Storm 2 leaked info for you.

Rumors have just surfaced that suggest that Samsung’s Omnia II will be hitting Verizon Wireless sometime later this month.
That’s all fine and dandy considering the Omnia II is a beautiful handset but there’s just one problem with this rumor; Verizon’s Omnia II is expected to ship with Windows Mobile 6.1. If you’ve been paying attention, you’ll know that Windows Mobile 6.5 powered devices will be shipping later this month, so why not the Omnia II?
Well, the same rumors say that although a 6.5 update will be in the pipeline it won’t actually be pushed out until some time after the phone goes on sale.
If this is true, what gives?

For the moment CLIQ is the hot Android phone coming from Motorola via T-Mobile. But fear not Moto fans, CLIQ has a worthy follower or so we suspect. The Tao or Sholes or however they decide to call it at launch, has been spotted in the wild running Android. What other OS would it run? As you can see the phone was running Google Maps at the time the picture was taken and you can also see it’s going to offer us a pretty impressive 1390mAh battery. We have no more details at this point in time but in Verizon we trust to launch the phone already!

What you see above is a screen shot of Best Buy’s product inventory database listing for the BlackBerry Storm 2’s Verizon dummy unit.
At first glance, this may not seem like anything special but once you see that Best Buy is going to stock the unit on October 25th leads us to believe that the actual fully functioning handset will be made available for purchase sometime soon after the 25th.
On another note, BGR has also apparently been told that the Storm 2 will be priced at $599 with no contract. Potential buyers fret not as once the carrier subsidization is factored in, it’s sure to be a lot lower.

It seems that the same handset we spotted a few weeks ago has again turned up and this time with a Verizon branding. The above handset is the Windows Mobile 6.5 powered HTC Imagio that was rumored be launching for Verizon on October 6th.
The device is said to feature Verizon’s VCAST TV service in addition to a 528MHz processor, 3.6-inch touch screen, WiFI, HTC’s TouchFLO 3D UI and a microSD port.
In other words, this device is nothing special but the fact that it has Windows Mobile 6.5 on it means Microsoft is sure to hype it up.
