The Samsung Omnia II will soon be released at Verizon on December 2 for $200 on contract after a $100 mail-in rebate.
This should probably come as no surprise as the original was also with the big V, and so this Windows Mobile 6.5 will be in stiff competition with the Moto Droid.
Here’s a video of the Samsung Omnia II with AMOLED screen after the jump.

Is Sprint feeling Verizon’s blow when it comes to Android phones? The HTC Droid Eris sold by Verizon for $99.99 is basically a different HTC Hero version which also happens to be a lot cheaper.
But fear not, Sprint customers! Best Buy has decided to sell the HTC Hero for $99.99 thus matching Verizon’s offer. The price is available after instant discounts and with a new 2-year Sprint contract. What do you say? Does the Hero look interesting yet again? And just in case you forgot, the Hero will receive the Android 2.0 update at some point in the future so getting one, especially at $99.99 sounds like a very good choice.

Calling with mobile video has not really taken off, but a company called Saygus plans to release the VPhone V1, a video transmitting and receiving phone that runs on Android and will be available from Verizon.
Of course, the video transmission has to work with another VPhone, but perhaps it will be compatible with phones of the future. As it is, it has a 5 Megapixel camera, a slide-out QWERTY keyboard, Wi-Fi, and 3.5-inch touchscreen. It should have four hours of video chatting, and seven hours of talk time.

By now you certainly know that AT&T has decided to sue Verizon Wireless after Big Red aired all those commercials from its “There’s a Map for That” campaign. AT&T is definitely pissed off as Verizon is making a mockery of AT&T’s 3G network. AT&T alleges that Verizon is falsely advertising the capabilities of their 3G networks and consumers get the impression that AT&T lacks any services in those areas on the maps where 3G connectivity is not available.
So what does AT&T do to defend itself? It brings its EDGE network in:
With both 3G and EDGE coverage, customers can access the Internet, send e-mail, surf the Web, stream music, download videos, send photos, text, talk and more. The only difference - with some data applications, 3G is faster than EDGE.
Sure AT&T’s EDGE network is definitely comparable with Verizon’s low-end EV-DO Rev. A network but that’s not really what AT&T should tell its customers right now. What they want to hear is that AT&T’s 3G network is going to get even better. Which means no more dropped calls, better coverage, and all the web surfing at 3G speeds they want. And while we’re at it, Verizon should also upgrade its 3G network to LTE as fast as possible.

What do you know, Canadians, the Droid is ready to come your way soon. The phone will be known as the Milestone which seems to be the name Motorola has decided to stick with when it comes to the rest of the world. The Milestone has already been spotted in Germany and Brazil so it’s safe to say that only Verizon will sell it as the Droid in the USA.
Telus is said to bring the Milestone to Canadian customers early next year but there are no dates available at this point. There are no price tags either yet so we will all have to wait for the official press release before we get excited.

The Droid and the Droid Eris have been available for almost five days now and from the looks of it the phones are already bringing in some serious cash. The most popular of the both is definitely the Motorola Droid and you must surely agree that the Droid is an exceptional Android machine.
But neither of them is perfect. In fact there are quite a few issues that need to be fixed so both the Droid and the Droid Eris will receive an update in the near future. And it’s not customers complaining about the phones but it’s Verizon. The carrier has already found various things that need attention and it has leaked no less than twelve pages filled with complaints (five for the Droid and seven for the Droid Eris.) Everything will be sorted out by two firmware updates that are supposed to arrive in December and January. We don’t have any exact dates for you so in the mean time feel free to tell us what’s wrong with the Droid from your point of view.

Verizon has taken the first jab at the iPhone calling it a misfit. Well technically that is as it unveiled its new commercial to jack up the Holiday season promotions for its Motorola Droid phones. Making use of the “Misfits Toys” from the classic Christmas animation Rudolf the Red-nosed Reindeer, Verizon has added the iPhone to the list of misfits to leverage some publicity. Will Apple throw a second jab? Wait and see! Here is the commercial:

The Motorola DROID is undoubtedly one of Verizon’s hottest (if not the hottest) handsets as of late. However, it’s $200 price tag may put it just out of reach for some consumers.
Luckily, Sears has stepped in to give us the phone for $149.99 on a 2-year contract as opposed to Verizon’s price.
So, if you want the DROID, you may as well head over to your local Sears instead of your local Verizon store, right?

Those who have been waiting to purchase Motorola’s DROID for Verizon can wait no longer as it has just been put up for sale. The Android 2.0, 5mp camera touting DROID will set you back $299.99 with a 2-year contract.
Additionally, those looking to spend a bit less can pick up the HTC developed DROID Eris for $99.99 with a 2-year contract.
Will this duo of devices stack up against AT&T/Apple’s iPhone? Let’s wait and find out.
You can purchase the DROID here, and the DROID Eris here.

Verizon has recently unveiled a non-smart phone called the Convoy. If you happen to be in the market for one, then you might appreciate this guy.

Hot news for the two giants of the US that fight for a bigger share on the mobile telecommunications market, and I’m talking about AT&T and Verizon.
In this case it was AT&T that sued Verizon and the reason is pretty simple: a misleading advertising campaign, which is named “There’s a Map for that” and is actually a joke related to an AT&T campaign called “There’s an App for That”.
The misleading information is related to a map made by Verizon, in which shows that AT&T doesn’t have much network coverage. But the only detail they forgot to mention, is that they are only counting the 3G network and not EDGE network, and that’s why the AT&T map is full of blank spaces, which could lead to customers having bad ideas…

At the moment there isn’t an exact release date for the Sony Vaio P Series, but rumours have mentioned the date of November 5th.

Now that Microsoft has updated their mobile version of Bing, it would appear that Verizon is pushing this version of Bing onto the BlackBerry Storm.
Unfortunately, a recent report complained that this BlackBerry version of Bing was “slow and unresponsive”. This is one of several apps being “pushed” onto the Storm which includes YouTube, VZW Tones, V Cast Video, and a Verizon version of Slacker Radio. Perhaps BlackBerry users can learn to warm up to Bing.

November 6 is the day when the Droid will be available in Verizon Stores. In case you want to avoid hassles and lines, you can always pre-order the Droid from Best Buy. But if you’re decided to walk into an actual Verizon Wireless store and get your Droid from there then you should know that Big Red plans to open stores at 6AM on November 6. The hour is not confirmed yet but we expect Verizon to take all the measures necessary in order to accommodate as many customers as possible next Friday. So what do you say, are you ready for an early start?
And don’t forget, the Droid Eris will also be available on Friday. You’ll actually have to get this phone from a Verizon store since it’s not available for pre-order.

Before you buy your Motorola Droid phone you should know everything there is to know about it. For example did you know that accessories like the car kit and the dock aren’t included in the package? In fact each one will cost you an extra $29.99. The car kit will be known as the Phone Holder for DROID while the dock will be called the Multimedia Station for DROID. Both accessories will be available next Friday when the Droid becomes available. That means the price for the Droid has gone up by $60. I assume that you want to take advantage of Google’s new GPS application properly or use the Droid for watching videos in a comfortable position, don’t you? Then you do need these two toys too! So what do you think? Are you ready to purchase the Droid and its upcoming accessories?
