  • LG is proud to announce that their GT500 handset has officially launched exclusively on T-Mobile UK.Sure, it’s no BL40 but the GT500 still packs a punch with its 3-inch touchscreen, 5MP camera with autofocus, image stabilization and digital zoom.

Additionally, the GT500 will feature high quality built-in Dolby 2.0 sound (but no 3.5mm headphone jack) and A-GPS. To remedy the fact that it has no headphone jack LG will ship compatible headphones in the box. Storage wise it will feature 130MB of internal storage with a micro SD slot for expansion.

No word on if we will ever see this device Stateside.

T-Mobile USA has clearly announced that it has no plans to launch the HTC Hero in the USA. That doesn’t mean that T-Mobile UK will not bring HTC’s latest Android phone in the UK. In fact the UK carrier will launch the HTC Hero and it’s going to call it the G2 Touch. It’s not exactly clear what Hero will actually be available in the UK so we’re counting on T-Mobile UK to tell us more soon. Is it the keyboard version?

What we do know is that the G2 Touch will be available for free with a new 18-month contract as long as you’re willing to commit to a plan of at least $60 per month. What Hero will you choose? The one offered by T-Mobile UK or the one coming from Orange UK?

How is this even possible? The Hero is probably the best Android phone coming from HTC and T-Mobile is not interested in launching it? According to T-Mobile’s CTO Cole Brodman T-Mobile “has no plans to bring the HTC Hero to market.” Sure it’s understandable that T-Mobile will want to sell the Magic aka myTouch 3G first but why not go for the Hero too? That statement was made during the myTouch 3G launch event and the message is pretty clear. There’s no room for interpretation here! No means no this time.

So now that the Magic is available for pre-order we have only one question left for T-Mobile: what carrier is going to launch the HTC Hero and who when will that happen?

It seems that T-Mobile has recently made their Dash 3G handset (also known as the Snap) available through their website. This goes against rumors that the Dash 3G wouldn’t be making its way onto the service until July 15th.

For $169.99 with a 2-year contract you will get a 2.4-inch QVGA screen, WiFi, GPS, Exchange, a full QWERTY keyboard and Windows Mobile 6.1. What, no Android?

Just yesterday we learned that T-Mobile would be offering the myTouch 3G for $199.99 with a 2-year contract. Now, we find that the carrier has put the myTouch 3G up for pre-order with a gauranteed delivery by August 5th.

For those who don’t know, the myTouch 3G will be T-Mobile’s latest Android offering and will feature a 3.2 inch touch screen, a 3.2MP camera, GPS, WiFi, HSDPA and a microSD slot.

This handset is cool and all but what I’m really waiting for is the HTC Hero.

We knew this was coming and it is now official. Well almost official since T-Mobile is yet to announce its availability dates and pricing. But according to these leaked shots, the myTouch 3G, or the HTC Magic, is going to be available from T-Mobile for $199.99 with a 2-year contract. Would you pay that much for the Magic or would you rather wait for the Hero to appear in stores?

If you’re already a postpaid or FlexPay customer you will be able to pre-order the Android phone and have it delivered to your door anytime from July 29 to August 3. Otherwise you’ll have to wait for the phone a few more days. So what do you think Android lovers? Is the Magic worthy of your attention at that price?

Do you remember when HTC announced that their sleek new user interface dubbed Sense would only be made available for phones without the “with Google” branding? Well it looks like some Italian hackers weren’t pleased with this and decided to take maters into their own hands.

Featured in the above video is a T-Mobile G1 running HTC’s Sense UI and from the looks of it is relatively smooth. Other than Sense’s obvious graphic enhancements this hack will actually enable the G1’s multitouch, a feature that was not enabled out of the box.

Ths hack came about by the Italian group of hackers flashing their G1 with what they are calling the SuperHERO ROM.

T-Mobile has two hot phones coming in July, the HTC Dash 3G and the HTC Touch Pro2 and it has planned a few special events to show off the new phones. Nothing special about that or so it would seem. But T-Mobile is going to give away a free HTC Dash 3G to everyone attending the events. Sounds like you should definitely go, right? So here’s where you need to be:

July 14 - San Francisco, CA
    July 15 - Chicago, IL
July 16 - Los Angeles, CA
    July 21 - Arlington, VA
    July 22 - Houston, TX
    July 23 - Atlanta, GA
July 28 - Fort Lauderdale, FL

In case you’re interested in just buying one of the two handsets, the Dash 3G is arriving on July 15 while the Touch Pro2 is expected to be available on July 22. We’ll need some pricing details and some confirmation from T-Mobile but we’ll let you know if the dates change.

We’ve already seen that leaked Motorola Morrison wearing T-Mobile’s logo and today we get confirmation of the fact that T-Mobile is going to launch a Motorola Android smartphone later this year. The Wall Street Journal is also saying that Verizon will be offering a Motorola Android phone to its customers sometime this year. The phone will be similar to the Morrison although there are no concrete details about it. The Calgary, rumored earlier this year, is also a potential Android-based phone coming to Verizon. We’ll just have to do some waiting to see what Motorola has done with its Android phones.

  • Motorola Morrison Gets Leaked

The Morrison in the picture here is one of Motorola’s future Android phone. It’s not official yet but it has been already leaked to the Internet. What we know so far is that it comes with a big enough touchscreen and a full QWERTY slide-out keyboard. The phone will probably be one of T-Mobile’s future Android smartphones but we’ll wait for some official press releases before we can confirm any of this. As you can see in the picture, T-Mobile’s logo is present in the right corner of the screen but it could be all fake stuff. Rumors say we’re going to see the Morrison emerge sometime by the end of the year so in case you want an Android Motorola phone you’re going to have to wait quite a while.

In case you already took advantage of the Unlimited Loyalty Plan from T-Mobile then you have nothing to worry about. But if you didn’t then you should definitely sign up for it as soon as possible. Why you ask? Well it seems that T-Mobile wants to discontinue this Loyalty Plan starting with July.

Those of you that have an excellent history with T-Mobile, and we do mean those that paid the bills on time, can get the Unlimited Loyalty Plan. For $50 you will get unlimited monthly minutes and for $25 you will have unlimited data. Doesn’t that sound good enough? Well make sure you do get it by the end of the month just in case T-Mobile does cancel it.

It’s crazy I know, but instead of actually announcing the next Android phone available, T-Mobile has just confirmed that next week the phone will be announced. Wait, we’ve actually seen that happen with other carriers so why should it bother us now?

A company spokesperson had this to say about the second Android phone coming from T-Mobile:

Next week, T-Mobile will share more details about its next Android-powered phone, the follow-on device to the T-Mobile G1 with Google.

It was about time T-Mobile announced the myTouch 3G (or however they want to call it) since the Pre and the iPhone have already been unleashed from their cages. The spokesman hasn’t actually mentioned the name of the phone or any of its features but according to rumors it has to be the HTC handset we’re expecting. What do you say folks? What do you pick between Android, webOS or iPhone 3.0?

  • T-Mobile to Launch HTC Dash 3G

T-Mobile has a new hot phone scheduled for this summer. HTC’s Dash 3G is coming this July and besides the obvious HSDPA 3G connectivity and the full QWERTY keyboard it will come with features like WiFi, GPS, Microsoft Outlook sync and Windows Mobile 6.1 running the show. T-Mobile didn’t announce a certain date but July 15 is a popular rumored date. And we don’t have prices either but we should expect this handset to be fairly affordable considering what’s available from the competition at this time.

Travis Warren, director, product marketing said:

As millions of families prepare to hit the road this summer, T-Mobile is offering our first 3G-enabled Windows Mobile smartphone to help customers stay connected, organized and traveling in the right direction. We’re excited to offer the power and style of the T-Mobile Dash 3G with high-speed Internet access thanks to T-Mobile’s rapidly expanding 3G network.

What other 3G phones have you prepared for us T-Mobile?

  • Despite Apple keeping the iPhone 3G S‘ hardware pretty effectively under wraps, it seems that T-Mobile Netherlands didn’t get the memo and posted up the above picture.

As you can see, the iPhone 3G S’ processor has been bumped up from 412MHz (found in the 3G) to 600MHz. As for the RAM, it’s been increased from the 3G’s 128MB to 256MB. Everything else, we already knew, 3MP camera with autofocus, video camera, 32GB capacity etc.

So, it looks like Apple’s claims of everything being at least 2x faster hold true at least judging from the hardware. We’ll have to wait until we get our hands on the phone to pass judgement.

Although not officially available just yet the Samsung Bigfoot is definitely out there somewhere. The question is, does it resemble the phone in the picture above? According to sources it looks like this is actually the Samsung Bigfoot Android phone that we’re expecting. The phone will offer you a 3-inch capacitive AMOLED display, a full QWERTY keyboard, a 3 megapixel camera, HSDPA connectivity and more hidden features. The release date and the prices are still unknown but rumors say T-Mobile will launch it really soon. Whatever soon means this days.

  • Earlier today we notified you that T-Mobile had been hacked and customer data was taken from the provider’s network. Well, T-Mobile has again stepped in to elaborate on the situation calming customers down another notch:

The document in question has been determined to be a T-Mobile document though there is no customer information contained in the document. There is no evidence to indicate that the T-Mobile security system was hacked into nor any evidence of a breach.

Despite this rep saying the system wasn’t hacked or breached, the hackers still managed to get some data from the T-Mobile network so how exactly they got it we haven’t a clue.

Let’s see how this one unfolds.

    T-Mobile Hacked and Confirmed

It looks like T-Mobile suffered yesterday a possible security breach. While everyone was watching the iPhone presentation some crazy guys decided to steal some data. That’s customers data if you’re wondering but T-Mobile says that the stolen data will not jeopardize them:

Regarding the recent claim on a Web site, we’ve identified the document from which information was copied and believe possession of this alone is not enough to cause harm to our customers.

What else do you expect them to tell you? That you’re in danger of losing all that’s left in your bank account? It looks like T-Mobile’s hackers tried to sell the data to T-Mobile competitors and when that didn’t work they put it up for auction. The highest bidder will get, or has already gotten, all that data. T-Mobile had data theft problems in the past if I’m not mistaken! What will happen next?
