By now you should already be aware of the official existence of the G1 handset from T-Mobile. It’s the main event of this September 23rd and we’re going to be talking about it for quite a while.
One of the features presented at today’s even was Amazon’s music store. The application will come preloaded on the G1. You will be able to search your music, buy it and download it to your G1 to listen to it later. Kind of like an iTunes store but from Amazon, and with no Genius on. (more…)

How do you like the quick look at G1’s applications. There’s Search obviously, Maps, Gmail and Contacts. You will have access to Google Talk and YouTube. Other interesting apps to look for are the Amazon MP3 store, IMing and the Street View Compass.
Does Google’s Android know how go copy paste stuff? You know, unlike some other phone?

The G1 was finally announced today. We’ve been waiting for quite a while for it to appear. Now when we’ve heard and seen more we can definitely say this might be the iPhone competitor we’ve been waiting for.
In just a month you will be able to snag one for yourself. A two-year agreement gets you a $179. In November the device will arrive in Europe with Germany, Austria and the Netherlands to be one of the first countries to offer it.

Apparently, existing T-Mobile customers can snatch the Google Android-powered G1 handset for as little as $179.99 (before taxes and fees), subject to a 2-year service agreement. As an existing T-Mobile customer, I logged in to my online account to see if I can pre-order for a review, but this is what I get.
So their servers are overloaded at the moment. I’ll wait a couple of hours and see if the frenzy has died down.

With a bit of snooping around T-Mobile’s G1 site, users of the Android Community were able to unearth some official pictures of the upcoming Android-powered, T-Mobile-driven G1. As we already told you, the G1 will be officially unveiled later today and understanding your insatiable appetite to know everything about Android, we thought we could let you in on a sneak peek before the big bang. This actually confirms that the picture we saw last month was indeed the G1 or Dream if you will, and may very well mean that the rumored specs might also hold some water. Still, we are only hours away from the official announcement, so let’s wait and see how much of what we already know about Google’s first device is confirmed. (more…)

Tuesday T-Mobile is going to officially reveal the HTC Dream aka G1 as the first Android phone. In the mean time the Google phone was shown on T-Mobile’s Site. Go to http://my.t-mobile.com and you might still find it. Some people say the link itself has been taken down while other report that clicking on the G1 will get you nowhere for now.
Probably T-Mobile is experimenting in order to be ready to properly launch the device on September 23rd.

T-Mobile has announced that their 3G network is going to further expand to 8 more markets by mid-October. That’s quite a remarkable effort and coordinated with the upcoming G1 launch should increase mobile sales.
Atlanta, Chicago, Los Angeles, Orlando, Philadelphia, Sacramento, San Francisco and Seattle are the next cities which will get T-Mobile’s 3G network while Birmingham, Denver, Detroit, Kansas City, Memphis and Tampa will have it by the end of the year.
Add the Android device to the mix and you will have a great network and a great phone.

We heard earlier last week about a future T-Mobile press conference scheduled to be held on September 23rd. The Wall Street Journal has confirmed it. T-Mobile is expanding their 3G network. Next stop is Phoenix where the 3G network infrastructure and spectrum cost $127 million.
The network offers HSDPA with speeds running at up to 7.2Mbps. But T-Mobile doesn’t offer any HSDPA handsets yet. Which means that if you happen to be a T-Mobile in Phoenix and you have a HSDPA unlocked device from some other carrier, you might enjoy an almost virgin network. T-Mobile will get you some HSDPA devices in the near future, as soon as they get used to the idea that they actually have a 3G network.

We’ve recently seen how much color matters when the new iPod nano generation was unveiled this Tuesday. Products are more appealing to customers if offered in more than one boring color.
T-Mobile is going to release the BlackBerry 8120 in 3 new colors starting with October 15th. The colors have cool name of course. First we have Frost which is light blue, Indigo which is blue or purple and Black Emerald which si dark green or black, depending on how good your eyes are. So does the color change make the 8120 more appealing to you? Ready to choose one?

It looks like everyone is getting an App Store following Apple’s big hit. T-Mobile is the next name to be interested in an application store in order to offer more content to its subscribers. And it’s not the Android Market which will be a totally different thing despite the fact T-Mobile is going to be the first carrier to sell an Android device.
While the program is still very secret, T-Mobile’s officials have been interviewed at the CTIA and they did mention some of the features of the future virtual store. The store will evidently offer both free and paid applications but nothing which would contain any advertising. No Adroid or Sidekick applications will be allowed and the developer agreement will appear on T-Mobile’s website next week or so. T-Mobile will provide demo handsets and a virtual lab for testing out future applications. No API will be made available from the first day but it will be considered as an option for the future.
As for revenues and prices, free applications will be allowed at no cost to developers but bandwidth limitations will be in place. If the apps are priced the revenue split starts at 50/50, but various factors can help the developer obtain a 70/30 split.
That’s it for now, hopefully more details are going to arrive down the road.

According to Reuters, T-Mobile will be ready to launch it’s Android G1 phone on September 23rd. Well actually that might not happen since Reuters’ unnamed sources mentioned something about a joint T-Mobile and Google announcement in New York City.
If it’s not the G1 what else could it be? What else does T-Mobile and Google have in common? With no official comments from either T-Mobile or Google, we’ll just have to wait and see.

The T919 will have GSM/EDGE/850/1850/1900, 1700MHz WCDMA. There’s a rumor about HSDPA, an MP3 player, A-GPS and a full Internet browser with touch support. The FCC hasn’t confirmed all these last features but they are written down.
Like always neither company has confirmed the handset so we don’t have any news about availability and pricing.

As we suspected earlier this year when first TM506 shots appeared through the FCC, this Sony Ericsson handset became available from T-Mobile. The 3G device is waiting for you in T-Mobile stores starting today. It will retail for just $79.99 after some rebate and with a contract.
Besides HSDPA support in T-Mobile’s young 3G network you will get a 2 megapixel camera, built-in music player with stereo Bluetooth and TeleNav navigation. All in all not that bad for the price it comes with.

T-Mobile isn’t only getting ready for their biggest mobile device launch of 2008, and yes I am talking about the G1, but they seem to be ready for some other handsets as well. The yellow Motorola MOTOACTV W450 seems to be ready for launch in early September.
The W450 has Bluetooth support, a media player, a 1.3 megapixel camera and a microSD slot. We’re not surprised at all to find only these features. There’s nothing special but if you want a cheap Motorola phone just pick one randomly out T-Mobile will sell you the W450 for $30-50.

People have been saying the HTC Dream will be available for presale starting with September 17th and later on available in stores. Now other people are saying that T-Mobile has scheduled press conferences for October 23rd to fully launch the Dream aka the G1. Well who are we to trust? Is the phone ready or not? Will we see it this September or not? Sure we’ve seen it in photos so far, but I am talking about regular full scale, official release.
We’ll definitely keep you posted!
