The HTC Touch HD is one of my favorite HTC devices. It has a 3.8 inch touchscreen phone which was recently released by HTC. People say that this Touch HD is being modeled to become an Android handset too for T-Mobile. It’s even referred to as the G2 although there’s nothing official to support these rumors.

With all this in mind I can’t help but think about HTC’s official Twitter from a few days ago which clearly said that the Touch HD is not officially coming to the USA. What do you think?

It looks like the G1 is quite the iPhone killer, isn’t it? From what we heard, T-Mobile has managed to pre-sell every phone it had available. Then they started a second run and sold that too. No less than 1.5 million G1s have been sold to date. Add to that the sales which are going to occur when the phone lands in T-Mobile stores and the G1 might sell just as good as the iPhone in the first weekend.

I think that Apple and Google will wager a real war in the mobile business. The iPhone and the G1 will sell really good. And the Storm isn’t even out there!

A few days ago we rumored about the BlackBerry Pearl Flip 8220 price which was suppose to be $200 with a 1-year contract, and 7 days later we have a new rumor about the cellphone.

The unusual Blackberry that comes in a flip-mode has arrived in stores at the US, at least according to BlackBerry Reporter that was able to get a photo of the action. In this case it was a red Pearl Flip 8220, but there will also be a silver version.

If you want to take a peek at the red Blacberry Pearl Flip 8220, just head over to a T-Mobile Store and ask for more information.

Recently there seems to be a great rush for low-end cellphones on US carriers, so on top of the Samsung SGH-a637 announced today, there is the Nokia 1680 which is available T-Mobile. You can’t get more cheap than $15 after the rebate and T-Mobile contract, can you?

The 1680 Classic cellphone was first seen a few months ago, and at that time it was most affordable camera phone on the Nokia catalog.

Currently it boasts basic SMS, MMS and IM messaging functionalities, a VGA camera, and a speakerphone. One positive point goes for the battery life in stand-by mode, that can last 18 days. While talking the battery only has life for 4 hours.

T-Mobile Launches Samsung T919

We were waiting for the Samsung T919 to arrive from T-Mobile and the carrier has announced it. The T919 is called the Behold. That’s quite a disturbing, but let’s move to the cell phone official specs:

  • 5MP camera
  • front camera
  • streaming video support
  • GPS with voice Commands
  • touchscreen
  • video ringtone support
  • microSDHC support
  • consumer email functionality.

So nothing special right? The Behold is going to cost about $149 and it will be available on November 10.

T-Mobile was supposed to launch its postpaid contract options some time ago. August 6th to be precise. People have been talking about it since July and when the D-Day came, nothing happened. Instead of T-Mobile customers being able to choose month-to-month postpaid plans, they were stuck with the same payment plans and pay-as-you-go offers. (more…)

Is Apple taking over the mobile market in the USA? We’ve just seen yesterday how Apple has already managed to manufacture and ship 10 million handsets this year and by the end of 2008 the company should surpass it’s goal. And today we find out that the iPhone has reached the second place in US mobile sales.

What would you do with 17 million people? I mean you could very well pretend you are either one of them. You’d have birth dates, telephone numbers, addresses and email addresses. If you were Deutsche Telekom you’d better hang on to them very carefully. If not, who knows what might happen with them.

Because that’s exactly what happen with some 17 million customer accounts from T-Mobile Germany. The German carrier says bank details were not stolen. And it looks like the data is circulating around the web but it hasn’t been sold yet on the black market. I guess we’ll be waiting for those angry complaints from T-Mobile’s customers soon.

What is T-Mobile going to do about it? Working with the authorities to protect the customers affected by the whole thing. Wow. I feel so safe not being a German T-Mobile subscriber right about now…

You might be lucky enough to have pre-ordered the G1 in time. Or you might be just like the rest of us, waiting for October 22nd to buy it in store. In any case you probably want a taste of that Android OS mounted on the HTC Dream as soon as possible.

T-Mobile has a G1 emulator for you to play with. Sure it doesn’t have all the functions of the real thing but you can still get a general idea of how stuff works. Don’t bother complaining about various issues and bugs you might spot along the way. It’s just an emulator for now. You’ll get the chance to complain later on about the real thing.

T-Mobile’s recently launched G1 Android phone is really hot right now. You must be a Ballmer not to see it yet. And it looks like the public is responding well to it. We’ve told you how T-Mobile has already finished the amount of handsets available for pre-sale. A T-Mobile official said the carrier has depleted stock despite the fact it had tripled the numbers of G1s to be pre-sold.

Personally I am uncomfortable with the BlackBerry Pearl Flip 8220. It’s a great phone but I can’t but feel that RIM shouldn’t have created flip Berries. Berries should be something else. Think Curve, Bold or Storm. The phone is rumored to have a price already from T-Mobile. It will cost $150 with a two-year contract or $200 with a one year contract. Rather steep wouldn’t you say?

We’re waiting for an official T-Mobile announcement to confirm these prices. The phone is expected to arrive this year, so flip phone lovers can already get in line for it.

Ever used a 3G mobile broadband USB device to go online? Having one as a backup, for those nasty times when your ISP decides to pull that Internet plug for no apparent reason, is a must. A 3G Internet connection is almost guaranteed, although 3G networks do happen to go crazy from time to time.

T-Mobile to Launch Shadow 2

After announcing the HTC Dream aka the G1, T-Mobile is ready to launch one more HTC device. HTC Shadow 2 is the logical successor of the Shadow.

Shadow 2 will be the first handset to come with Windows Mobile 6.1 with UMA capabilities and T-Mobile is set to launch it on October 15. As long as you’re going to sign a new contract you’ll get it for $149.99 after some mail-in rebate. Hopefully we’ll get more specs by then. In the mean time I’ll let you dream about this baby.

T-Mobile presents MotoACTV W450

For the type of people that need a ruggedized cellphone (read modified for military use) check out the latest offer by T-Mobile. It is simply called Motorola Active, but if you want to go technical the real codename is MOTOACTV W450.

As you can see by the image, the Motorola Active can be inserted on the “clamshell” category, and since it has a material similar to rubber, it means you can drop it and it is suppose to keep working. Made for exercising sessions, like jogging, hiking, cycling and others, it includes an easy way to “attach” the phone to your belt.

An interesting application is the Mayo Clinic software that helps users identify medical troubles.

In terms of normal features, the MotoACT W450 has a microSD slot that can handle 2GB cards, a 1.3-megapixel camera, and is able to playback audio. The phone is already available in gray or white, and costs $30 with a 2-year plan.

  • HTC is a hot cell phone manufacturer. Besides the HTC Touch Diamond which was a hit handset in various markets, the company has launched various equally good smartphones. Their most expected phones was the HTC Dream made for T-Mobile. You know, the Google phone or the G1.

It looks like the G1 was very well received by the public and especially by T-Mobile’s subscribers. G1 has already sold out during the pre-order period which means we might expect some iPhone-like lines in front of T-Mobile stores when the G1 arrives.

If you want numbers, people say that about 60,000 G1 units have been sold already. HTC plans to sell about 700,000 units this year and we might see that number easily surpassed.

T-Mobile has set up a data limit for their new G1 phone. 1GB is the limit they have considered initially. After the limit would have been reached you might have gotten more but your speed would have decreased significantly to only 50kbps. We don’t like that do we? Neither does anyone else who is considering buying a new G1 phone. (more…)

    T-Mobile G1 in the wild

The era of the Android has begun and the first device to herald it, the T-Mobile HTC G1, is already getting good reviews barely hours after its official announcement. MobileBurn were able to get their hands on a working unit and put the device through a few hoops. The end result is a lot of words that point to a simple “thumbs up,” pointing out that the touchscreen, trackball controller, and the QWERTY keypad are pretty good coupled with an intuitive operating system and interface. For just $179, this could be something the device that you have been waiting for a long, long time, don’t you think?

Well well T-Mobile, you sure have an Amazon store ready for your future customers. There are 6 million DRM-free songs available which is quite nice. But how are we to listen to it? It’s been reported that there’s no 3.5mm headphone jack available.

So who’s fault is it? T-Mobile’s? Google’s? Well last time I checked, the manufacturer was HTC. It seems that’s an old problem with the HTC. They tend to forget about the music jack in their models. The Touch HD is the only exception so far.

That means you should buy an USB dongle to mediate a connection between your faithful headphones and the G1. And the adapter won’t arrive by the time the G1 gets released.

Do you think Amazon should be a little pissed off by all this? I mean they will be loosing some money for a while right? Why buy songs you can’t listen to anyway?
