The G1 is the hottest handset out there right now but it still has some problems. We’ve seen yesterday that POP3/IMAP mail doesn’t fully work and today we found out there’s a security flaw inside the web browser which could prove to be really harmful to your device.

A researcher, Charles A. Miller says the flaw could be exploited when a user goes to a malicious website. Malicious code can use the flaw to install software on the G1 which will do only bad things after. Google knows about this whole thing and it’s working on it. It’s been reported that there’s already a patch ready and T-Mobile G1 owners will get it OTA soon.

Did you get your T-Mobile G1 yet? Does it do POP3/IMAP email? People say it wouldn’t so I am just checking since I can’t be testing it hands on. People are talking about it on T-Mobile’s forum and it looks like they are reporting up to 95% connection errors when trying to check their email on the G1. Gmail is working fine apparently but others don’t.

T-Mobile is going to fix whatever problem has occurred, I am sure. After all checking emails while on the go is one of the reasons people buy smartphones in the first place! Tell us how G1 emailing works for you!

News about the T-Mobile G1 that runs Google Android operating system are pretty hot, in case you missed them check out the posts made today about the same subject: Virtual Keyboard in the horizon? Usable Without Navigation?

Another story related to cellphone is the new application made by MySpace, which will be released later this week and G1 owners will be able to download it on the Android Market. This is an expected move by MySpace, because they already have mobile platforms on other devices, like the Sidekick, and I bet many more will come in the near future.

Take the iPhone for example. Great phone, large touchscreen, virtual keyboard, some people would have wanted a real keyboard. Now take the G1. Great phone, large touchscreen, full QWERTY keyboard. Some people want a virtual keyboard too.

Luckily a virtual keyboard is easier to set up and it looks like the G1 will get one. Android will release it sometime in the first three months of the year. By that time you can get used to the whole slide-out keyboard.

Beginning on Monday, interested developers will have to register and pay a one time $25 application fee in order to make sure that they are authenticated and responsible for their applications. After that the programs will be available to users without any other validation or approval.

Next year, developers will be able to distribute paid applications in addition to free applications. As for revenue, developers will get 70% out of each sale, just like Apple developers.

T-Mobile, Nokia, and Shelton Jackson aka Spike Lee, worked in cooperation to create the first ever “user-generated flim”. It was presented 2 days ago on October 14, at the Nokia Plaza in LA, and it is also available online at www.nokiaproductions.com.

The tactic used to create this film is a mix of common people and video recordings made from Nokia cellphones. Afterwards, it was up to Spike Lee to make it a 5-star movie.

The public had to pick a media - text, music, video or images - and create content about birth, life, and death. More than 4 thousand pieces were submitted to the Nokia site, from April to September 2008, and the final result is pretty good.

Good news for all those people residing in the UK for the most part of their day who want a G1 phone from T-Mobile. Their Dream is arriving in the UK in about two weeks, on October 30.
Combi or Flext plans will be available to go with the G1.

The Combi plan will get you some 800 voice minutes, unlimited text messages and unlimited internet browsing via 3G HSPA. FlexT will get you 1,250 minutes of talktime or up to 2500 SMS messages per month. Or mix the two together. Unlimited but defined web browsing is also available. No need to tell you what the G1 can do, right?

  • The Samsung Gravity T459 is a slider phone which will be sold in T-Mobils stores starting with November 17. It’s rather a mid-level phone which has a music player, the ability to sync with PC, web2go and it’s MyFaves capable. The QWERTY slide-out keyboard and the microSD slot are surely going to be put to good use.The phone has GSM/EDGE connectivity and it comes in two colors, Lime with Gray or Aqua with White. There’s no price for the Gravity yet, but we’re probably going to learn more about it in the near future.

Just a little while ago we were talking about T-Mobile’s problem with loosing some 17 million customers’ private data. Well the German carrier outdid itself. It has confirmed this Saturday that an error in their system exposed personal data for 30 million customers. Unlike the previous time, this data leak included personal banking information. It’s said that the accounts would have been very easy to access and operate online.

T-Mobile introduced a new security system on Friday which took care of the problem. The carrier assured its customers that no one stole the exposed data. But then again, what would you have expected them to say? That all your data is being currently sold on the black market? Are we to expect similar problems to occur in other T-Mobile markets?

Recently, T-Mobile USA, Inc., and Research In Motion or RIM together announced their new BlackBerry Pearl Flip 8220 Smartphone. It comes packed with all the innovative and latest features to give you a superb mobile experience.

“The flip phone remains the vastly dominant and preferred design for mobile phones in the United States ,” said Leslie Grandy, vice president of product development, T-Mobile USA. “Being the first company in the U.S. to offer the unique Blackberry experience on a flip phone is a huge benefit for T-Mobile customers.”

The HTC Touch HD is one of my favorite HTC devices. It has a 3.8 inch touchscreen phone which was recently released by HTC. People say that this Touch HD is being modeled to become an Android handset too for T-Mobile. It’s even referred to as the G2 although there’s nothing official to support these rumors.

With all this in mind I can’t help but think about HTC’s official Twitter from a few days ago which clearly said that the Touch HD is not officially coming to the USA. What do you think?

It looks like the G1 is quite the iPhone killer, isn’t it? From what we heard, T-Mobile has managed to pre-sell every phone it had available. Then they started a second run and sold that too. No less than 1.5 million G1s have been sold to date. Add to that the sales which are going to occur when the phone lands in T-Mobile stores and the G1 might sell just as good as the iPhone in the first weekend.

I think that Apple and Google will wager a real war in the mobile business. The iPhone and the G1 will sell really good. And the Storm isn’t even out there!

A few days ago we rumored about the BlackBerry Pearl Flip 8220 price which was suppose to be $200 with a 1-year contract, and 7 days later we have a new rumor about the cellphone.

The unusual Blackberry that comes in a flip-mode has arrived in stores at the US, at least according to BlackBerry Reporter that was able to get a photo of the action. In this case it was a red Pearl Flip 8220, but there will also be a silver version.

If you want to take a peek at the red Blacberry Pearl Flip 8220, just head over to a T-Mobile Store and ask for more information.

Recently there seems to be a great rush for low-end cellphones on US carriers, so on top of the Samsung SGH-a637 announced today, there is the Nokia 1680 which is available T-Mobile. You can’t get more cheap than $15 after the rebate and T-Mobile contract, can you?

The 1680 Classic cellphone was first seen a few months ago, and at that time it was most affordable camera phone on the Nokia catalog.

Currently it boasts basic SMS, MMS and IM messaging functionalities, a VGA camera, and a speakerphone. One positive point goes for the battery life in stand-by mode, that can last 18 days. While talking the battery only has life for 4 hours.
