Sony Ericsson and GlobalFun have struck a 5 year deal. They will offer content for the PlayNow Arena and provide Fun & Downloads services. The Swedish company creates mobile games for a living and they will probably fit in perfectly with Sony Ericsson’s needs.

While we are waiting for official stuff from Sony Ericsson, GlobalFun went ahead and started to comment on the deal.

Bertil Krumnack, EVP Sales & Business Development at GlobalFun says:

We have since the beginning of our business aimed to provide our customers, of which Sony Ericsson is a highly valued one, with high quality premium content. This appointment serves for us as a proof that our strategy on content acquisition and account management has been and still is the correct one.

Marcus Johansson, GlobalFun CEO:

The trust that Sony Ericsson is showing us by appointing us as one of two content acquisition partners is very flattering. We will do our very best to exceed the expectations in this area and to continue to grow our mutual business.

Think about Sony Ericsson’s last handset dedicated to games, the F305!. Hopefully GlobalFun is just what the doctor ordered for Sony Ericsson and their games collection. After all, everyone plays a game or to while on the go.

Remember how Sony Ericsson released a whole bunch of phones just a few weeks ago? Besides the C905, most of them were entry level to mid range phones with various extra features. It appears that Sony Ericsson is preparing for another released. The Sony Ericsson W595 Lind has just been seen around. By seen we mean leaked of course.

Let’s hope this doesn’t go the BeiBei way too! Sony Ericsson is all set to revamp its yesteryear flagship model, the highly successful T610 under the codename “Remi.” The candybar form factor will be retained cased with an aluminum body that could measure just 10 mm thin. Although being called as a followup to the original T610, this new guy will take after the W890 in SE’s Walkman series and is similar in most aspects to that particular cell phone. We may find the same A2 software platform, the 3.2 megapixel fixed-focus camera, and HSDPA hidden, but let’s just leave it to Sony Ericsson to dole out some more information.

Red Sony Ericsson W580 from AT&T

Lately whenever I see AT&T written, I read 3G iPhone. Well, to my surprise, AT&T sells other phones too! I wasn’t expecting this really. Besides working hard for the July 11th events and leaking some of that stuff out, they are actually getting new other handsets. Like the red Sony Ericsson W580. Not exactly new since they already have it in so many other colors: in black, white, gray, pink and green.

We’ve been showing you lots of eco friendly devices over time as more and more companies are trying to get their R&D departments to come up with eco friendlier products. We’ve seen the future corn made cell phone from Samsung and the trash made cell phone from Nokia. In the mean time Greenpeace has come up with the ‘Guide to Greener Electronics’ ranking where Sony and Sony Ericsson are top of the class. Somewhere in the middle we’ve spotted Apple and waaaay at the end there’s Nintendo.

So how’s the music maniac in you doing today? Care for some good news? Actually it’s not really news but a rumor about the next Sony Ericsson Walkman phone which is supposed to offer 16GB storage space. There aren’t any other clear specs but it’s possible this new phone will follow the line of the previous W950 or the W960 (check picture above).

Sony to Build a PSP Phone?

I found it weird too. Not the PSP Phone which is a concept many fans have thought about for year and figured out it will be bound to happen at some point in the future. But the omission of Ericsson. This rumor doesn’t say that Sony Ericsson are going to build a PSP Phone. What’s the matter Sony? Don’t feel like sharing some of that PlayStation fame?

Sony Ericsson C905 is one of the latest phones released by Sony and I must say I have been particularly waiting for this one. It’s the amazing camera that attracts me. I have always said that if you want pictures you should get a camera and use the phone specifically for what it was initially designed for. What was I thinking. Why not have a camera too? Especially such a good one. While Motorola still has to work on their Kodak 5 megapixels camera, Sony has done their job quite good on Sony Ericsson camera phones.

  • Sony Ericsson’s official site apparently had a P10 page up for a while. Does this mean the P10 is coming sometime soon? Or did Sony employees get careless while updating their site with recent released products? Is this another human error like we’ve seen before from a certain carrier?

  • Here’s another phone spotted at the FCC, the Sony Ericsson TM506. Sony Ericsson went wild this week. We’ve seen more than a few cell phone releases as well as cell phone accessories like Bluetooth headsets and headphones. If the previous handsets were entry level to mid range, the TM506 seems to be better than that.

    Xperia X1
I wish I got my hands on the new Sony Ericsson’s Xperia X1. The things I would do to it… In the mean time others have touched it and played with it and that’s simply not fair. The X1 is coming sometime in the second part of 2008 with no specific details yet on pricing or interested carriers.

  • Sony Ericsson K330 Phone

Sony K330It’s a Sony day today here at Mobilewhack.com so here’s the next mobile device we’re going to introduce. Sony Ericsson K330 is yet another entry level phone. It doesn’t have all those feature to brag but it’s more than just a dependable phone.

    Let’s look at some specs:

    • Screen: 65,536 color TFT, 128×160 pixel
    • Memory: Phone memory 10MB
    • Networks: 850/900/1800/1900
    • Colours: Gold on Black and Green on Black
    • Dimensions: 100.0 x 45.0 x 12.0 mm
    • Weight: 75.0 gr
    • VGA Camera
    • Bluetooth
    • Battery Life: talk time 7 hours, standby time 300 hours.

It’s somewhat similar to the J132 phone. As for special functions you can count on the VGA camera to capture up to 250 pictures or record 2 minutes of video. Not spectacular but useful. Oh and if you need a light, the screen will light so brightly that you will find whatever it was that you lost in the dark in the first place.

If you are interested in the K330 from Sony Ericsson, just go your location on their site and look it up for more details.

    Sony J132/J132a entry Level Phone

J132Here’s a more simpler handset from Sony Ericsson, the entry level J132. Like many other Sony Ericsson phones, the J132 has one other main job besides phone call making and that is delivering good quality FM radio.

The J132 has limited capabilities but nonetheless is a dependable phone. And here’s what’s been built inside that Night Black or Heaven Blue case:

    • Screen: 65,536 color CSTN; 128×160 pixel
    • Memory: phone memory 4MB
    • Networks:GSM 900/1800
    • Dimensions: 103.0 x 45.0 x 15.0 mm
    • Weight: 76.0 gr

As FM radio is available at all times, you will always have something to listen to while on the go. The loudspeaker on the back of your J132 will particularly come in handy. It is just perfect for good quality phone calls and FM experience. And the battery has a 450 hours stand by time so there’s at least a few hours of FM music and news between battery recharge.

Who needs an iPhone after all? For availability and pricing check your local Sony Ericsson site.

    Sony DR-BT140QP Bluetooth

I am looking for Bluetooth headsets from time to time but I very rarely tend to use one. It would free my hands in more cases but I am just too used to picking up the phone when I need to talk to anyone. Today I found this Sony DR-BT140QP and fell in love with its name immediately.

  • Sony Ericsson Alicia
The C905 Shiho from Sony Ericsson is an extremely useful 8.2 megapixels camera, which, if treated nicely with a decent voice plan will also work as a phone. I guess the phone thing is optional. What we see in these leaked pictures (see below also) might be the next Walkman from Sony, the Alicia, which will also might work as a clamshell phone when you aren’t listening music to it.

    Hard Candy from Sony Ericsson

    Madonna
How much do you like Sony Ericsson phones? How much do you like Madonna? If you answer yes to at least one of them, you might consider trying one of Sony Ericsson’s new phones which will have preloaded songs from Madonna’s last album Hard Candy.

Who’s more desperate to sell their songs? Madonna? I don’t think so! Sony Ericsson? Are we closer? Associating those two brand names might be a successful strategy but I wouldn’t buy my phone just to get some free songs. After all if I want it that much I will buy the CD or songs myself. Kinda like getting an iPhone and then stuffing with lots of iTunes.
