It’s not like we had a stable launch date for the Xperia X1 but we were expecting it to hit sometime this fall. Well guess again Xperia fans! The smartphone gets delayed. We won’t see one until late December or even January 2009. The problem seems to be the implementation of Windows Mobile 6.1.

Since T-Mobile is going 3G in about 27 markets or so besides their already launched New York 3G network, it’s no surprise they will start to bring in more 3G capable phones in the near future.
One such phone is Sony Ericsson’s TM506 which is 3G ready. It will be available around September 3rd for a price to decided later on. The TM506 is a mid range phone with no special characteristics other than the 3G support. Here are some of TM506’s features:

Sony Ericsson has a new phone for us, the T700 which seems to be the perfect successor of the T610. Let’s take a look at some features of the T700:
Nothing special here. No Walkman-like music and no Cybershot-like camera in this T700. And as usual, there’s no information on prices and availability yet.

Wow that title is so long I shouldn’t give you any more explanations. However the James Bond C902 Cybershot from Sony Ericsson deserves some attention. After all we are talking about James Bond here.
The phone is a limited edition Titanium silver handset meant to promote the latest Bond movie, the “Quantum of Solace”. You get special colors, Bond wallpapers and screen savers and a spy game demo. Other than that the C902 is exactly the same phone we already know. The special edition will be released sometime in Q4 2008, possibly around the official release of the movie. There aren’t any official pictures yet, but when we have them you’ll get them too!

Our guests today are Sony Ericsson and Zeemote. You know of course what Sony Ericsson does for a living, but you might not recognize Zeemote. Zeemote is a manufacturer of wireless controllers for mobile devices. Therefore the two companies signed a partnership to bring near-console game play to Sony Ericsson’s W760i. Sony Ericsson is going to launch Zeemote JS1 controller with Bluetooth technology in an exclusive promotion in Netherlands.
With Apple’s iPhone redefining wireless gaming, it’s no surprise Sony Ericsson wants to stay in the gaming game. From August 8th to October 31st, if you happen to be in the Netherlands you will get the Zeemote JS1 controller for free with any purchase of the W760i Walkman via a mail-in voucher promotion. The W760i comes bundled with two Zeemote Ready games with fourteen waiting to be downloaded.
The Zeemote JS1 controller will have a thumbstick and four buttons which are customizable. After connecting via Bluetooth, the JS1 will certainly improve gaming experience. I’d certainly want a piece of that action. It could be really fun.

Our pals over at the FCC leaked another phone. Of course it’s their job to take pictures so why not take advantage of it. The FCC is analyzing Sony Ericsson’s r306a, a clamshell phone, which I wouldn’t be surprised to be just another smple entry level phone.

Sony Ericsson is getting ready to announce anther cell phone. It’s the G705 which of course, got leaked before the it went officially official.
This G705 is a slider phone. There’s a 3.2 megapixels fixed focus camera with an LED, built-in GPS, 2.4 inch display, WLAN, Bluetooth, memory stick micro expansion slot, media player and an A2 platform. We don’t know more for now but we’ll take a more detailed look once it’s features become available. This G705 looks promising but probably it’s just another mid-ranged phone that Sony Ericsson launches into the wild. More pictures below.

So check out the picture? Do you like what you see? Do you have that deja-voodoo feeling? Are we looking at a possible competitor of the iPhone? Does it look similar to the Omnia or Instinct from Samsung?
The W1 is maybe a possible future Walkman series phone from Sony Ericsson. We’ve seen lots of mid range Walkman phones just yesterday. For those that need good music and smartphone features all rolled into one, the iPhone W1 could be the perfect choice for you. When it arrives. If it arrives…
The W1 looks good on paper. It should be a Windows Mobile phone with 32GB internal memory. There’s VGA display, a 6.1 megapixels camera and WVGA video recording. Of course there’s WiFi b/g and TV out. Did I miss anything from that picture? Well read it for yourself again then!
Looking forward to see more details about this phone. And I am sure I am not the only one waiting in line.

I know what you are asking yourself. Am I ever going to stop with these Sony Ericsson announcements? Well I will stop the minute Sony Ericsson stops launching cell phones. It’s the third Walkman phone launched today and it carries the name W302. This model will be launched also in Q4 of 2008 in those interesting imaginative colors, Midnight Black and Sparkling White.

Today seems to be another Sony Ericsson day. We’ve had a few a while ago with lots of cell phone launches. This Tuesday seems to be a Walkman cell phone day from Sony Ericsson. We’ve seen earlier the W902 and now we have another just launched model, the W595.
Well let’s see it then! Let’s see what features will the W595 bring to the table:
This Walkman too will be launched later in Q4 and will it come in three versions with various network support. We will let you know when it will hit the market. Oh and of course, there’s no price on it yet.

Sony Ericsson seems eager to get back on track after having a disastrous second quarter this year. And what better way of getting more money than by selling more cell phones. Here we have the W902 Walkman phone. Don’t be fooled by the looks, this is a phone for the public. The public that loves music of course. It’s not the smartphone you might be looking for. (more…)

In case you forgot about Sony Ericsson’s smartphone, the Xperia X1, well we didn’t. And while keeping our eyes out we heard that 3 is going to launch the Xperia X1 in November.
There aren’t any specific details about pricing or special plans but the phone is coming from 3. Or that’s the word on the street so far. The Xperia X1 is a sliding smartphone with a full QWERTY keyboard and the introduction of Windows Mobile 6.1. Quite a change from the Symbian S60 which Sony Ericsson regularly uses.

Sony Ericsson has bad news for their employees. They will be forced to fire 2,000 people. They have had a bad second quarter with only $9.5 million in profits. Last year their profit margin was a whole lot bigger with $347 million reported in profits. And all that despite they have shipped the same amount of phones.

Our friendly Federal Communications Commission has just approved the Sony Ericsson T303. I always like to see a cell phone being approved by the FCC. That means details and pictures might get leaked, as the FCC has to take photos and detailed data of everything they approve.

Sony Ericsson’s ship must be made of just holes rather than some wood or iron as we continue to hear about leaked devices every week from almost every lineup that it has. After waltzing on to scene about a month back, the mysterious clamshell that was codenamed Alicia is now revealed to be the part of the Walkman series (pretty obvious from the “W” symbol on its front) and will now answer to the name of Sony Ericsson W707. The specs still remain a mystery though and the only thing we know as of now is that it will have a 3.2-megapixel camera but no autofocus. The keypad looks laser etched like the RAZR and SEMC Blog claims that it has both an internal and external screens. Judging by the steady trickle of leaks, we should be getting you more on this flipper pretty soon!

This is the Sony Ericsson Feng in the leaked picture above. I don’t know if there’s a Shui from Sony Ericsson, but if I was Sony Ericsson I’d create one. There can’t be a Feng without a Shui, can it?
This phone will be announced on July 22nd and we also like to call it the W302.
The Feng will be a walkman version of the S302 phone. You must have lost interest by now. The S302 was an entry to mid range phone. Not the spectacular iPhone competitor you wished for. So the W302 will be similar to the S302. No high hopes for this one either. Besides the music capabilities, the Feng will have a 176×220 display and a 2 megapixel camera to go with that. Powered by the A2 software platform, this simple phone will be quite useful if you’re looking for a fast, fun cell phone.
