Sony Ericsson has been busy today. Besides the C903 it launched a Bluetooth car kit. It’s the AB900 speakerphone which will be available for purchase soon, for an undisclosed price so far. The AB900 won’t surprise you with features but you can expect it to come with an RDS feature which will let you broadcast music to your car’s FM stereo over an unused frequency. The Bluetooth device will also offer you voicemail or access to your favorite five numbers, all at a touch of a button, 26 hours of talk time and up to 40 day standby.
Will the Sony Ericsson AB900 be a hit? You decide!

Sony Ericsson has announced the C903 Cyber-Shot camera phone and I must say that we were expecting this one to arrive. And this phone is so much closer to a camera than other Cyber-Shots before him. Let’s take a look at the camera specs first:
Sure you’ll say a 5 megapixel camera is way too little compared with Samsung’s 8 megapixel phones but it has plenty of features which will improve your pictures on the go.
Interested in the capabilities of the C903? Well here they are:
The phone should arrive in the Q2 so make sure you start saving some money for it. We don’t know what carrier will pick it up yet and we have no idea about prices, but there’s plenty of time for that.

Everyone seems ready to leak a little bit of this and a little bit of that just in time for the MWC. Sony Ericsson leaked a new Walkman phone, the Sony Ericsson Hikaru. And this Walkman might make a name for itself with what it has to offer:
Now we need the usual missing details, pricing and an exact release date. To be fair, we do admit we know it’s coming out sometime before Q2.

The Sony Ericsson Premier 3 Walkman phone in the picture here looks weird, but in a good way. It will be launched by KDDI in Japan this spring and it will feature a 3-inch display, a 3 megapixel camera, Bluetooth, GPS, infrared and even a remote control. The microSD slot will let you upgrade the existing 50MB of storage space on board of the Premier 3 up to 2GB, which is nearly not enough. Especially since you’re going to want to listen to lots of music and play lots of videos. However there is a cool feature for this Walkman phone. It can rip music from a CD. Just plug the player into the remote via a 3.5mm plug and the rest is easy to do.

How about getting a Sony Ericsson W350 for that special Valentine of yours? What if it would come in Pink? Would you get one? Well the picture here shows a Soft Pink version of the W350, so go ahead and get it. It will probably sport the same features as the regular W350 but then again you’d be buying one because of the pretty pink color it comes in. And while we’re thinking of pink handsets ready for Valentine’s Day, what phone would you pick? The pink Samsung Instinct or the pink Sony Ericsson W350?

That’s right boys and girls, the phone in the picture is a Sony Ericsson F305 and it has that famous Hello Kitty painted all over it. Besides the white and pink case we don’t know yet what other modifications this Hello Kitty Edition F305 might bring you, but it would be fun if it came with some Hello Kitty preloaded content.
The Hello Kitty F305 is headed to Russia but we don’t know how much it will retail for. Other markets might get it too, so better ask around, maybe your carrier is going to bring it to you.

A new Cyber-Shot phone is heading our way. It’s the C903 from Sony Ericsson which we heard it’s going to be unveiled at MWC next month. The C903 or the Frances looks similar to the C905 Cybe-Shot which has an 8 megapixel camera. But the C903 will only sport a 5 megapixel camera with autofocus, active lens cover and face detection. You will also get A-GPS, 2.4-inch TFT screen with a 240×320 pixels.
The C903 will be available sometime in Q2 2009 but we don’t have an exact date or any pricing details just yet.

The fact that LG has just became the third largest manufacturer shouldn’t be such an unexpected event considering how 2008 turned out to be. Two major handset manufacturers have suffered deeply. These are Motorola and Sony Ericsson. We expect them both to recover sooner or later. But in the mean time LG has surpassed them and it won’t be stopped soon. LG surpassed Moto by only about 100k handset as both companies produced around 100 million phones last year. Sony Ericsson managed to sell only about 96.6 million in a disastrous 2008. What will 2009 bring in terms of handsets? Well we know Moto has a few good looking phones set for a Verizon release, but LG won’t surrender! The company wants to launch no less than 100 different handset this year. That’s almost two new handsets per week. And we’re going to cover them all for you!
Oh, and as usual, number one and two are the same companies. Nokia sold 470 million phones while Samsung trailed behind with only 200 million phones in 2008.

Facebook is expanding to all modes of being accessed and it looks like most mobile phone companies are trying to race one another to be the first one. But it looks like there is one who beat them to it and that company is Sony Ericsson with its NAN model. Sony Ericsson Nan is now being branded the “Facebook Phone”.
Sony Ericsson Nan is a mid-end web-oriented device, that packs a 3 inch TFT multitouch screen (320 x 480 pixels), a 5.1 megapixels autofocus camera with photo flash and a secondary VGA camera. Android OS is also on the specs list, together with WiFi 802.11 b/g support, aGPS Google Chrome and Picasa for Android.

2008 hasn’t been a great year for various companies and especially Sony Ericsson. The company reported a loss of 187 million Euro for the last quarter of the past year which means that overall Sony Ericsson lost 73 million euro in 2008. Sony Ericsson sold 24.2 million handsets in the Q4 and 96.6 million overall compared to 103.4 million handsets sold in 2007.
Sony Ericsson’s President, Dick Komiyama, said:
In economic terms, 2008 has been a tumultuous year with world markets experiencing a serious downturn. The mobile phone market has been greatly affected by this and as expected, the fourth quarter continued to be very challenging for Sony Ericsson. Our business alignment is progressing as planned, with the full effect of annual savings of around Euro 300 million expected by the second half of 2009. We foresee a continued deterioration in the market place in 2009, particularly in the first half.
Will the company manage to stay afloat? Are we to expect a flagship phone to revive its business? So far we know that a PSP Phone will not arrive this year but a secret Android phone will be launched. We have no details about it and there are no leaks yet. What is certain is that Sony Ericsson confirmed again once again its interest in the Android platform. We’ll be close by when the first Sony Ericsson Android handset will be announced.

TeliaSonera is said to develop the first commercial 4G wireless networks. The carrier has Ericsson and Huawei ready to deploy it in Stockholm and Oslo.
Lars Klasson, CTO and Vice President of TeliaSonera said:
We have chosen Ericsson to deliver the initial 4G city network in Stockholm and Huawei for the initial 4G city network in Oslo. Now, TeliaSonera continues the evaluation of suppliers to deliver 4G networks in the Nordic and Baltic countries.
The project will launch officially in 2010. Hopefully by then we’re going to have other carriers ready to deploy 4G networks in other countries too. And while we’re at it some of them should really improve their 3G networks before getting to the next level.

A 35-year-old man in Sweden snatched a few prototype handsets straight from the Lund offices of Sony Ericsson. That happened on Monday or Tuesday but then he got arrested on Wednesday when the police recovered the phones from his home. The man wasn’t an employee but he was in a working relationship with Sony Ericsson. The total value of the theft was $90,000. So what were those prototypes there? What was he going to do with them anyway? Try to sell them? Develop his own mobile brand?

Sony Ericsson has released two new Walkman phones. One is the W715 which we have already seen and the other is the W508 Walkman mobile phone.
As with the W715, the W508 will come with the SenseMe and TrackID technology. Shake and Gesture control are also present. That means you’re going to get the same Walkman experience. But let’s take a look at this phone’s specs:
This Walkman will arrive sometime in Q2 in various markets so that’s when we’re going to get back to you with pricing details.

The last Walkman phone Sony Ericsson has launched is the W715. And, as expected, this Walkman will be just a little better than its predecessors. Besides delivering your favorite music while you’re on the go, it will also offer you GPS support which means you will be able to make the most of the services available near you. Vodafone is going to pick the W715 and it will offer you turn-by-turn pedestrian or driving navigation with Vodafone Find&Go.
As for music, the W715 will come with the same features as the W980 has. You should expect crystal clear sound, the TrackID and SenseMe applications. The Shake Control function is also there which means you can change tracks with a twist of the wrist. And Vodafone Music is also going to be present.
You should expect the phone to arrive from Vodafone and other markets in Q1 but specific arrival dates and prices are going to be announced at a later date. The phone will come in those fancy named colors I like: Galactic Black and Luxury Silver. And here’s what we’re going to find inside of a W715 Walkman:

The Sony Ericsson W810i Walkman cell phone is a cell phone, a digital camera, a digital music player, a video player, and an FM radio, and comes complete with powerful music management software and accessories that make listening to music a pure pleasure.
Ever since Apple’s iPod application took the world by storm, cell phone manufacturers have been scrambling to emphasize the entertainment capabilities of their products over and above the talk feature. Soon, cell phones may well be a afterthought or extra feature on high-tech entertainment micro-systems that do everything you might do at home on your sofa and do it for you from your wrist, purse, or front pants pocket. The Sony Ericsson W810i Walkman retails for between $250 and $320.

Spotted early last month, we pretty much knew everything about Kate sans a good picture to show off her curves. Now, thanks to Daily Mobile, we can feast our eyes on this mid-level CyberShot phone. Touted to be the successor of K770, the Sony Ericsson C510 proves itself to be a middling in the CyberShot series with a 3.2 megapixel autofocus camera, LED flash, a dedicated shutter key, 160MB of internal memory, and other photo-centric features that you can find on a Cybershot cell phone. The 2.2-inch QVGA display looks just enough and the accelerometer for auto-screen rotation sure makes the C510 a bit more endearing. Accompanying these are extra features like upload/download of videos to YouTube, face detection, and smile shutter.
The Sony Ericsson C510 is expected to be released in February 2009 at an undisclosed price. Keep reading for more pictures…

We saw the Sony Ericsson C905 leak out a few months ago. The phone was ultimately released and is one of the way better Cyber-shot camera phones out there. Boasting an 8.1 megapixel camera, the C905 is equipped with a 2.4 inch screen that can be used in both portrait and landscape modes thanks to the built in accelerometer. Measuring 104mm x 49mm x 18mm, the phone weighs in at an arguably hefty 136 grams (4.8 oz), and is compatible with GSM 850/900/1800/1900MHz and UMTS 2100/HSDPA networks.
Packaging
Our review unit, provided by the folks over at PureMobile, came with the following items in the package:
The phone comes with a slide-out keypad with standard T9 input that is common on most other Sony Ericsson phones. The phone features a crisp 262k color display, which doubles up as your camera preview window.

If you haven’t brought this mid-range Walkman phone already, we have some news for you aspiring buyers in the European sector. DailyMobile.se was able to snag a couple of pictures of the Sony Ericsson W595 clad in a new hue, Sandy Gold. Reportedly, the color-transformed slider will start selling in February across Europe and as with almost all unofficial news trickles that we get, there is no information on what’s written on the price tag. Specs seem to have remained the same and customers will get the same ‘ole slider form factor packing a 3.2-megapixel camera, Memory Stick Micro support, stereo speakers, and Bluetooth connectivity along with Walkman-exclusive features like TrackID and Sensme technology for playback control with a jiggle.
