Also announced today by Sony Ericsson is the J110 mobile phone,
a candy-bar style phone featuring large keys and simple navigation. This would be a great phone for those who have a hard time seeing, and just want a pretty basic, yet good-quality phone. The Sony Ericsson J110 features one-click access to the mostly used features on the phone, which saves you from having to scroll through multiple menu screens. Navigation is also made simple through the single-icon display.
The Sony J110 phone features a 65k color STN screen, which is bright enough to allow for easy reading. The phone also has 9 hours of continuous talk time, which is pretty good for those who are always on the run with limited abilities to recharge throughout the day. The Sony J110 can also store up to 200 phone numbers.
The Sony Ericsson J110 will be available in Q2 2007 in selected markets. It will be available in three color choices, all of which will be accented with chrome details. Color options available include Soft Grey, Precious Purple, and Soft Cream.

Another new addition to Sony’s line-up of mobile phones is the K220 model,
which is similar to the K200, but with added features. The K220 has one-click access to many of its most important, and most used features, as well as the ability to set-up your favorite icon links on the main display.
The phone also includes an intergrated FM radio with RDS. You can pre-set up to 10 stations, so you won’t need to fumble around looking for your favorite stations, and you can even set the phone up to wake you up in the morning with a certain radio station.
This mid-level phone will be available in selected markets starting in Q2 2007. Two color choices are available - Ocean Blue or Frost White.

Sony has just announced an entry level camera phone, the Sony Ericsson K200, which is designed for the lower-end of the cell phone spectrum. The K200 features a simple candy-bar style design, and a VGA camera, which is the focal point of this phone.
The K200 touts the easy of use of its camera and accompanying photo album, which is a nice change from overly an overly complex photo system found on many phones. The camera and albums are accessible with just a quick touch of a button - no scrolling through all sorts of menus required. This is a great feature for one of those unexpected “I just have to take a photo of this!” moments. The Sony Ericsson K200 mobile phone can store up to 40 images, and features a slideshow view.
The phone navigation is also as simple as can be, allowing users to set-up their favorite program icons on the phone’s main screen and one-click access to important features like the phone book.
The Sony K200 mobile phone will be available to consumers in Q2 2007 in selected markets. No word on which markets will be getting this, but keep your eyes peeled. It will be available in two colors - Metallic Black and Light Champagne.

If you thought only us humans needed makeovers, boy were you wrong. According to industry insiders, Sony is all set to give its business-phone, the M600 a makeover! For the uninitiated the M600 by Sony is a Symbian OS 9.1 and UIQ 3.0 enabled phone and has a comprehensive feature set including Media Player, StreamingAudio, VideoPowerPoint, Word and Excel editors and Adobe PDF viewer IrDA, USB support, QVGA 2.6-inch 262k color touch screen display with handwriting recognition.
The new and improved handset will now be called the M600i ( how innovative) and has been code named Lizzy, according to some sources. The M600i will have a more ergonomic design and will have more silver.
Many thought that the M600 Achilles Heel was its lack of camera, however Sony disagrees, as the M600i will also have no camera like its predecessor. But according to me SE makes up for the no camera show by adding WLAN to the mix. This one too will run on the Symbian UIQ3. Keep watching this space for more updates.

The phone previously known as the Sony Ericsson K770i will be released under a different name, the K550im. The K550im model is a GSM Tri-band phone that features a 2 megapixel camera with auto focus, M2 memory card slot, GPRS, EDGE, Bluetooth, IrDA, FM radio, and a music player. Internal memory is 64MB, which can be expanded with the M2 memory slot. The phone features 176×220 pixel TFT display with 256k colors, and a small size at 102×46x14mm.
There is a good chance the phone will be officially announced during the 3GSM congress coming up this month, where a walkman version of the phone - possibly the w550i - may also be announced. The walkman version is rumored to support the 3G network and have a camera, but no auto focus. Details about these phones keep trickling out, so stay tuned for all the latest info.

Remember the Sony Ericsson Z310 cell phone that we were gushing about? Well, the phone’s just got knighted by the FCC, and is ready for the market.
This EDGE phone comes complete with a web browser, an RSS reader and an email client. While a full-fledged music player seems missing (remember the Z series is one of their affordable models), it’s got MusicDJ to create and manage ringtones. It’s also got a sound recorder.
No word on how much it will be priced at.

Remember we had reported the Sony W880i cell phone some time back? Well, the phone has just been approved by the FCC.
Usually the FCC site comes with useful documentation (including user manuals), but this time there’s not much on the W880i. Which naturally makes us wonder what’s so special about it. We already reported the basic specs, including a 1.8" QVGA display, Memory Stick Micro support and Java MIDP 2.0.
Anyway, this is a super-slim Walkman phone from Sony Ericsson, and we should be able to get our hands on it soon.
No word on the pricing yet.
