  • When Samsung Soul was announced, we were all at the edge of our seats, hanging on to every detail we could find of it. And I think we speak for most of us when I say that we weren’t disappointed. After all, it’s a sliding phone with 5-megapixel camera, HSDPA support, Magic Touch Technology, microSD card slot, and quad-band world wide roaming capability. Wait a minute…quad-band? Nope, we’ve been duped. According to phonescoop.com, they’ve discovered that the Soul is missing one band, the GSM 850. Documents in the FCC has confirmed it — the Samsung Soul is a tri-band phone with GSM 900/1800/1900 + WCDMA 2100 bands. Bully, Samsung.

  • Samung i200 Cell Phone

    Samsung%20i200.jpg
Still another new Samsung phone presented during the Mobile World Congress is the Samung i200. It’s a very simple, very basic candybar phone — the kind you’d wonder why companies would bother making. But I’m guessing Samsung has its target market for the i200. The i200 has a
2.3-inch QVGA TFT display, a 2-megapixel camera, EDGE capability, 3G with HSDPA support, and Bluetooth and USB Connectivity. The low-end device runs on Windows Mobile 6 standard.

  • Samsung SGH-E251 Cell Phone

    Samsunf%20E251.jpg

Remember the E250? At MWC this year, along with a gamut of other Samsung phone, the company unveiled the Samsung SGH-E251, which is obviously a derivation of the earlier E250. The E250 was a highly-popular phone, most especially in Asia. I can’t help but think this is stretching the popularity of the model too much. Anyhow, the Samsung SGH-E251 is a triband slider phone with EDGE/GPRS capability, Bluetooth and USB connectivity, 2-inch 128 x 160-pixel resolution TFT display, and a built-in VGA megapixel camera. The difference of the E251 from the E250? A dedicated music key.

  • Samsung SGH-L770 Cell Phone

    Samsung%20SGH-L770.jpg
Let’s go back to discussing more Samsung phones released during the MWC. This one is the Samsung SGH-L770. It’s another Samsung phone with a mirror finish; a feature they seem to have explored quite liberally for their MWC phones, if you haven’t noticed. The Samsung SGH-L770 is a Quadband slider phone with both GPRS/EDGE and 3G with HSDPA support capabilities. Measuring 102 x 48 x 14.2 mm, it has a 2.1-inch QVGA TFT LCD, with 2 megapixel camera, and Bluetooth and USB connectivity. There’s no official price on this baby yet, but word on the street is that it would be somewhere around ~US$400 and would be available starting April.

  • Samsung SGH-J700 Cell Phone

    SGH-J700a.jpg
Adding to the roster of Samsung’s low-end mobile phones along with the L170 and the J150 is the Samsung SGH-J700. The SGH-J700 is 14.7mm thin, with a glossy mirror-like surface and a 2″ TFT display. It has a multimedia and FM player and can record video, has a 1.3 megapixel camera, and Bluetooth and USB connectivity. It might not be the BEST looking phone Samsung has presented in the MWC, but you got to admit, for something being touted as low-end, this doesn’t look half-bad at all.

  • SGH-F250a.jpg

The Samsung SGH-F250 slider mobile phone was officially announced at the end of last year and been released this first quarter of 2008. The music phone’s a perfect companion for anything, from backyard barbecues to a boring commute to work. That’s because the Samsung SGH-F250 is integrated with the LifeVibes Music Player. The LifeVibes Music Player supports local playback, streaming, and downloading. What’s great with the service is that it has a post-processing feature which allows the users to include natural 3D effect for the music when headphones are in use or stereo-widening so you can listen to true stereo effects even when listening using compact speakers. Other than the multimedia player which is the heart of the device, the Samsung SGH-F250 slider phone features a metal keypad, a 1.3-megapixel camera, and a 2-inch display.

  • Samsung’s Got Soul

    Samsung_Soul.jpg

Classy enough to be carried in say, a game of golf with your bosses, and yet spunky enough for a night out with friends — that is what Soul of Samsung is. And by soul, I meant Samsung’s new handset — the Soul. Why “Soul” say you? Soul is short for “the Spirit Of ULtra” as a memento for completion of Samsung’s Ultra Series. The half-inch thin phone captures the hearts of many with mere pictures of it with its sliding frame and 5-megapixel camera. It features High Speed Downlink Packet Access (HSDPA) network access and a microSD card slot. A quad-band phone, the Samsung Soul boasts the Magic Touch technology which changes the indicators in the keypad as you navigate. Say, the lights change when you’re using the camera, and then changes again when you’re playing music. No price on this baby yet, but the Soul will be rolling out by April of 2008.
