Well look here what the cat dragged in. These appear to be genuine leaked pictures of the newest RIM creation, the BlackBerry 9500 also known as the Thunder.
The impressive 360×480 touch display is the major upgrade RIM had in mind for us. Sure we will miss the full QWERTY keyboard but we’re not going to need it where we’re going. Aside from the ‘giant’ screen, yes it’s bigger than the iPhone’s, we will get the OS 4.7. Surely this is going to be the closest iPhone competitor so far. We’ve heard lots of rumors and we’re anxiously waiting for it to be released. As long as the Thunder will have a decent price and at least the same application support as the iPhone does, we’re sure to have one hell of a fight for mobile supremacy. HTC and Samsung beware! Your Touch Diamonds and Instincts or Omnias might be easily surpassed by the 9500.

We knew that this BlackBerry clamshell would stick to T-Mobile whenever it will be released, but this new rumor about its price is something we couldn’t foresee. CrackBerry has been hearing many a birdie point at a $49.99 price tag, roughly the same that you would pay for a Moto Razr on T-Mobile with a two-year contract. That would just about make the Kickstart the cheapest smartphone when it comes out most probably in September, and T-Mobile might have a chance to stop some of its customers from hopping on to the iPhone 3G bandwagon, all set to roll in a week’s time on AT&T. But as with all rumors, we can’t help but be skeptical and hope RIM/T-Mobile makes it official in the coming days…

Research in Motion has the new BlackBerry OS 4.5 ready for launch. All BlackBerries coming out this summer will have this system already installed while the rest of us, stuck with an older Berry will have to wait until September to go upgrading.
In the mean time the BIS 2.5 upgrade is on. Today, June 29th, the BlackBerry Internet Services 2.5 should have gone live and by this time you might already have downloaded it. Some of the cool stuff this upgrade brings is the ability to add and save attachments while working from your BlackBerry smartphone. As long as they are under 3MB you will be able to attach all sorts of Microsoft Office files and more. You will be able to attach video and audio too.
Wait there’s more! Push email is available. All you need is the BIS 2.5 and an AOL or Hotmail/MSN mail account and you can go pushing mail in no time.
Wait there’s more… bad news! Not all of these upgrades will work. You will need the OS 4.5 to have the BIS 2.5 working properly. Better wait to September or get a brand new RIM smartphone this summer.

We bought you the scoop on RIM’s first flipper, the Kickstart, last month. Now feast your eyes on some live pictures of the clamshell, courtesy of BerryShack. Here’s a rundown of the known specs:
Rumors point to a T-Mobile release in September but until then, you will have to be satisfied with a couple more snaps after the break…

May be the mysterious code that surfaced a few days ago wasn’t off the mark after all. Javelin, one of the many BlackBerry devices rumored to be in the works from RIM has been spotted in the wild and if rumors are to be believed, then RIM will be taking a step back and let 3G slip on this full QWERTY business phone. Other details point to the inclusion of a 3.2-megapixel camera, GPS, WiFi, and a huge display. You might as well go ahead and invest on your new BlackBerry Bold in July, as this 2.5G device plans to break out in mid-2009.

Is Research in Motion going to throw even more BlackBerries at us? Is this just another rumor? With the Bold having just been released and the Thunder in the works I wonder what they will prepare for us next.
The BlackBerry 9110 apparently codenamed Seawolf (I wonder who’s giving the names at RIM) is one of the next berries to be released. Probably from AT&T but that’s just another rumor. We’d like more specs, some pictures and some pricing details. Anyone working over at RIM care to leak some details over?

After the BlackBerry Bold, the Thunder is coming. We all knew that for a while now but we lacked more specific details about RIM’s first touch screen (only) BlackBerry.
From what we can see, despite the fact it will lose the physical QWERTY keyboard in favor of the larger screen, the Thunder won’t lose any other of the features that made BlackBerries famous around the world.
Let’s see when, what and who now! When is it going to be released, what will it cost and who else, besides Verizon Wireless, is going to sell it?

How many pictures did you upload to your Flickr account today? A lot right? Would you like to do that from your phone? Well you can do it now if you are a BlackBerry hardcore user. Soon after RIM released the BlackBerry 9000 aka Bold, we were told a new model is in the works, the 9500 called Thunder. I’ll just remind you that the Thunder will be BlackBerry first touch only phone. We’ll have to wait and see how that’s going to work out. I bet there are lots of RIM fans who love that full QWERTY keyboard.
The picture above has been spotted with Horizon Wireless. Can I preorder the Thunder already? Is this another well manufactured fake in order to attract traffic and increase sales? The picture isn’t really that clear and some say that would indicate it’s original. But why take a blurry picture when you can go full 5MP on that Thunder? Was it taken somewhere in Iraq while running from insurgents?
Since I showed you at least five “original” 3G iPhone pictures, I wouldn’t be surprised if this was just another fake.

Wirefly, an online leader in one-stop comparison shopping for cell phones and wireless phone plans, has just released the result on their survey for the Top Ten Hottest Cell Phones for summer travelers. These are probably based on the phones used by tourists and travelers throughout summer.
The handsets that top the list are the BlackBerry Curve, Palm Centro and BlackBerry Pearl. This could be due to its functionality and connectivity options that are indeed far superior than the other phones in this category.
According to Wirefly, the Top 10 hottest cell phones for travel this summer are:
1. BlackBerry Curve 8310 –AT&T
2. Palm Centro – Sprint
3. LG Vu CU920 – AT&T
4. T-Mobile Dash –T-Mobile
5. BlackBerry Pearl 8120 – T-Mobile
6. Motorola i880 – Nextel
7. LG Rumor – Sprint
8. Motorola v3m RAZR – Verizon Wireless
9. LG Voyager VX10000 – Verizon Wireless
10. LG Scoop – Alltel
Maybe the main selling point for this summer is the GPS technology included in the phone’s features. With these phones, users will be able to track their position on a map; get information about nearby restaurants, shops and attractions; and, even receive turn-by-turn directions while on the road. All ten phones also have capable built-in cameras, so they will be prepared to capture any memorable moment.

Following the official release of the BlackBerry Bold, we were left wondering about the prices and future plans. Well here they are.
AT&T, Sprint and Verizon Wireless are going to sell the Bold for $300, with only T-Mobile announcing a price $50 higher. I wonder why T-Mobile stands out of the crowd like that. What do they have prepared for their subscribers? If you remember, T-Mobile is comfortably ranked 4th in the USA by number of subscribers. (more…)

I am still in awe after what I’ve been reading and writing about the brand new RIM creation. I am talking about the BlackBerry 9000. The Bold. Possibly one of the worthiest adversary of the future 3G iPhone. Besidest those two, there’s also HTC Touch Diamond, which has to be mentioned out of fairness to the game. And this one will also have their piece of the pie as it’s an outstanding piece of engineering.
According to rumors the future of RIM is even brighter. The BlackBerry 9500 Thunder is coming to town. It’s the next generation of BlackBerries. All touch and no keyboard (I hope purchase of an additional keyboard is going to be an option). What will the Touch do? Well it will be served by Verizon WIreless in the USA and by Vodafone in Europe. What will it deliver? 3G EV-DO Rev. C / GSM HSPA support, everything else and more! That’s about all the details we have for now but we’ll be here to mark more specs down when Touch becomes available later on this year.

Following the recent Blackberry Bold announcement, AT&T said they are going to be the first US carrier to deliver this new slim beauty. RIM announced that the Bold will be available later this year from various carriers and this appear to be true as T-Mobile, Sprint and Verizon will sell the device too. But AT&T are to lead the way. They are bragging about their 3G support which is supposed to be wider than others. I’d assume that’s what RIM wants also for their customers. To take advantage to the fullest of 3G wherever they might be.

BlackBerry 9000 has been officially released today. What’s Bold about that? Well Bold is what RIM called their new toy. From now we will refer to it as the new BlackBerry Bold.
It’s another remarkable creation and it’s the first BlackBerry with full tri-band HSDPA support and I’m sure more will follow. It comes with GPS and WiFI support where available, and it has of course the full QWERTY keyoard (customizable to AZERTY or QWERTZ for some languages).
The Bold is powered up by a 624 MHz mobile processor and has a 128MB flash memory completed by a 1GB on board storage memory.A microSD slot is there for those of you who need more space for their applications, videos and music. The LCD is half-VGA (480×320) for a better experience. Visualize photos, websites and video like never before. The built-in 2 megapixel camera with video recording capability, built-in flash and 5x digital zoom will come in handy when you will need that fast picture. And for smoother web surfing, besides the 3G and WiFI I already mentioned there’s a mouse like track-ball.
