I bet you’re really excited about the new Storm 2! We’ve seen the videos, we’ve heard the stories, and now we’re looking forward to see Verizon Wireless launch one of the most interesting BlackBerry smartphones created so far. BlackBerry lovers will have a tough time choosing between the Storm 2 and the Bold 2. But if they’re looking for a large touchscreen display with a totally redesigned tactile feedback then the Storm 2 is the way to go.

In an interview with the New York Times, Verizon’s CEO, Lowell McAdam has spilled the beans on the Storm 2. It looks like the smartphone will be launched at some point this week which means we’ll have all the Storm 2 details ready for you in the following days. Let’s hope that this time around the new Storm will not disappoint us like its predecessor did a year ago.

A few months ago we got our first glimpse of the white BlackBerry Bold but had no idea when we would be able to buy it or for what carrier. Well, it seems like AT&T will be the carrier getting the stylish device on October 18th.

Exactly how much will we be able to buy this for? Most likely right around the black Bold’s $199 price point.

Verizon customers are already aware that their favorite carrier is currently running a BOGO promotion when it comes to RIM smartphones. Choose any BlackBerry, except for the Tour, and Verizon will offer another one for free. Sure you’ll have to get a new contract but hey, a free phone is a free phone after all. The flyer below happens to suggest that the Storm 2 will also be included in this promotion. Verizon isn’t saying anything official yet but you’d have to admit that the thought of you walking away with the BlackBerry Storm 2 for the price of one this Christmas is pretty sweet. We’ll gladly confirm everything soon since Verizon is supposed to sell the Storm 2 by the end of November.

One of T-Mobile’s rumored phones supposed to be unveiled together with Project Dark is RIM’s new BlackBerry 9700 Bold 2. And it would seem that T-Mobile has already started to send out invitations to “executive briefing” events scheduled for early November. You’ll have to be in L.A. on November 3 or New York on November 5 in order to attend. By that time however, we’re probably going to have all the hot news about T-Mobile’s Project Dark, the BlackBerry 9700 Bold 2 and any other hot phones coming out in the following weeks.

T-Mobile has a brand new project ready for its current and future customers. Dubbed as Project Dark or Project Black, T-Mobile’s new initiative is very secret. That doesn’t mean we don’t have some hot stuff for you. It looks like T-Mobile is getting ready to roll out its very own 21Mbps HSPA network, launch a new $50 Everything Unlimited plan and announce a few hot new phones like the BlackBerry Bold 2 and the Nokia N900. That will all happen at once and T-Mobile should make everything official by the end of October. In the mean time we hear T-Mobile is training the staff for the upcoming changes and the carrier isn’t prepared to confirm anything just yet.

RIM’s newest BlackBerry, the 9700 also known as the Onyx or the Bold 2 is coming to U.S. customers in the following weeks from both T-Mobile and AT&T. What about Canadian the consumer you ask? Well it looks like Rogers Wireless is going to bring the Bold 2 to Canada starting with October 26. It’s being speculated that the 9700 will be available for $299 with a new three-year contract but as long as we don’t have the actual press release to back that up, we can’t tell you anything for sure. What do you say folks? Are you ready for the new Bold in town?

Rogers has today made the BlackBerry Curve 8520 available for those willing to drop $99.99 with a 3-year contract.

Rumors have recently surfaced that give us a hint as to when that highly sought after BlackBerry Bold 9700 will be made available for purchase.

Apparently, the above mentioned handset will be hitting T-Mobile on November 11th but until RIM or T-Mobile make an official announcement we will have to mark this one off as a rumor.

Anyone else as anxious for this phone as we are?

It’s probably too late for RIM to launch these white smartphones right here. Instead of the Bold and the Curve 8520 you could very well choose a Bold 2 or a Storm 2. However the white versions will be also available at some point in the very near future. The white Bold 9000 will be available from AT&T starting October 18 while the white Curve 8520 should already be available in T-Mobile stores.

There are no prices available for the white Bold but the white Curve will cost $129.99 after a $170 instant discount and with a new contract. Anyone excited about this angelic BlackBerry smartphones?

The next Bold version, also known as the BlackBerry 9700 Onyx is apparently coming from two U.S. carriers this month. Both T-Mobile and AT&T will launch the Bold 2 on, or around October 21. The phone will be available in the following weeks although there are no details regarding prices from neither AT&T nor T-Mobile. The Bold has been, and still is, one of the most popular phones launched by RIM so far which means that we’re probably going to love the Bold 2 as well. What’s the next phone that you’re most likely to buy? The Bold 2 or the Storm 2?

Vonage has just announced today that their mobile app for the iPhone and BlackBerry is now available for download.

This app will allow users to make international calls over both WiFi and AT&T’s cellular network. Of course, you’re going to be paying for both AT&T minutes and Vonage’s rates if you don’t use over WiFi but by year’s end Vonage hopes to give those who subscribe to their $25 a month World plan unlimited calling as opposed to the current pay-per-go model.

We’re not surprised to see stuff leaked from Best Buy and this time we have some details about the company’s upcoming holiday releases. And there are quite a few phones there ready to capture your imagination, but also a netbook we’ve seen in the news lately:

  • Nokia Booklet netbook - October 25th launch (AT&T activation)
  • Sprint HTC Hero - October 11th
  • Sprint Palm Pixi - launch date TBD
  • Verizon Storm II - launch date TBD
  • Verizon Android device - launch date TBD
  • T-Mobile CLIQ - launch date TBD

We’re particularly interested in that “new technology which doesn’t exist today” mentioned in the leaked documents and we definitely want to hear more about those BlackBerry and multiple Android phones which will also be available from Best Buy soon. We’ll be back with official prices and release dates so in the mean time you have plenty of time to decide what phone to ask from Santa this Christmas!

Those of you waiting for RIM’s BlackBerry Storm 2 should head to Best Buy stores on or around October 25. That’s the date when the Storm 2 dummy phones will be available in Best Buy phones which suggest the fact that we’re getting closer and closer to the actual release date of RIM’s newest flagship phone. After all there’s no point sending those dummy phones to retailers if the real version won’t be available soon. There’s no official news from Verizon or RIM to support all that but we shall keep our eyes wide open for more Storm 2 leaked info for you.

We told you a long time ago that RIM was going to launch a certain BlackBerry called Atlas. Unfortunately for anyone anxious to see a brand new BlackBerry phone the Atlas is not new at all. The Atlas is just a Curve 8900 that’s able to make and receive calls in a CDMA network. The phone has leaked already but that doesn’t necessarily mean that RIM will launch it really soon. So check the picture on your left and spot the differences. Which one do you think the Atlas is? The one on the left or the one on the left?

TiVo for your BlackBerry

Owners of a BlackBerry can now use a TiVo application on the cellphone in order to set up the recording sessions of content from the TV. This application was released earlier today and its price is zero. In other words, this TiVo for BlackBerry application is free.

Unfortunately the application doesn’t include live streaming, but on the other hand subscribers can easily do a search and find more information related to the shows they want to record. On the technical side, the application must work with TiVo DVR Series 2 or 3, and the mobile device should be using the OS 4.2.0 and have the capability to browse. So, if you’ve got a BlackBerry and a TV show that you can’t miss - don’t want much further and use this fresh app.

What you see above is a screen shot of Best Buy’s product inventory database listing for the BlackBerry Storm 2’s Verizon dummy unit.

At first glance, this may not seem like anything special but once you see that Best Buy is going to stock the unit on October 25th leads us to believe that the actual fully functioning handset will be made available for purchase sometime soon after the 25th.

On another note, BGR has also apparently been told that the Storm 2 will be priced at $599 with no contract. Potential buyers fret not as once the carrier subsidization is factored in, it’s sure to be a lot lower.

Back in July we told you that RIM was gearing up to launch a Mac OS X version of the BlackBerry Desktop Manager software at some point in the future and here we are still with no software.

Well, RIM has told us today that the Mac OS X BlackBerry Desktop Manager will in fact be made available this Friday, October 2nd. This will finally let Mac OS X users play nicely with their handsets, something the community has been asking for for way too long now.

One of the most famous internet radio services belongs to AOL radio, which is powered by CBS Radio, and their latest addition is a new release specifically for the BlackBerry Bold. Sadly it seems like they forgot to include other BlackBerry devices, but maybe that will happen in the near future.

Anyhow, owners of a BlackBerry Bold can now take advantage of the AOL Radio, which includes over 250 stations and more than 150 CBS local + HD stations. On top of all the stations, you can also create bookmarks, view the recently played stations, skip songs, and lastly, find the CBS radio stations in your area via GPS.

More information at the AOL Radio Blog.
