Apple really has to get its act together. This concerns policies on approving apps. Take the case of the Bobble Rep-111th Congress Addition app. Supposedly under the developer license agreement, Apple forbids ridiculing public figures. This caricature app was originally rejected but later on approved since they deem caricatures as harmless. So there are loopholes as you can see in their policies but if this was the case, why didn’t they consider that in the first place before rejecting this bobble-head app which you can now get for $0.99 at the app store? A little consistency could really save them the criticism!

Before you go on and pass checking out the mobile device in the image above, this is not an iPhone. It carries the same looks and can deceive you in a sec, but it is really a PinPhone, another copycat to the famed Apple iPhone. It may cater to all the physical attributes of the iPhone but when it comes to accessing the iTune store, don’t bet on it. The PinPhone 3GS is living proof how the Chinese love to come out with their own imitation products and perhaps this gadget is meant to cater to people who can’t afford to get the authentic iPhone 3GS…for now of course.

I’m not certain why Dell is planning to release its first smartphone, the Mini3, to only Cina Mobile and Brazil’s Claro, but the Chinese version will use OPhone, China Mobile’s version of Google Android. It won’t have Wi-Fi in China, just like the iPhone, but it is planned to have it “soon”.
I’m not certain of the Wi-Fi in Brazil. My source was also silent on if this Dell phone was coming to America. Considering all the Android phones we’ve seen in the past few weeks, is there a point to be made by bringing the Mini 3 here?

AT&T is apparently going to launch a smartbook soon. The device is made by Lenovo and it’s going to sport a Qualcomm Snapdragon processor. There are no specs available at this point as the smartbook in question has been showcased by CEO Paul Jacobs during an investor meeting in New York. Neither Lenovo nor AT&T cared to comment on the device but we’re probably going to see the smartbook at CES 2010 in just under two months from now.
The question is do we really need smartbooks too? We have smartphones, there are plenty of netbooks to go around and let’s not forget that the tablets are coming. What do you say?

It seems that there’s a new iPhone virus on the loose and this one is targeting jailbroken iPhones out there. The first one was almost a harmless worm which targeted jailbroken phones in Australia. The worm was programmed to scan the 3G IP ranges of Telus, Optus and Vodafone networks. As soon as those jailbroken iPhone were found the worm would change the wallpaper of the handset to Rick Asteley.
The worm we’re talking about today is based on the one we have just shown you. And you won’t like this second version worm. In fact you’re probably going to hate it as this worm, dubbed as “iPhone/Privacy.A” will send all your e-mail messages, SMS messages, calendar appointments, contacts, photos, music files, videos and any other data stored by your iPhone apps to a third party.
Of course in order for both worms to work your jailbroken has to have the default root password in place. Once you change that, you’re going to be safe for the time being.
