The Motorola Droid is the next number one Android phone which is already very well known to consumers. And the fact that the Motorola Droid is coming in the very near future is again, very well known. But Motorola still seems confused about actual arrival dates.
How else could one explain the mysterious appearance of the Droid on Motorola’s website? Everything looks official enough but it’s way too early. Shouldn’t we at least wait for Verizon to make the phone official? It appears not and we can only assume that both Verizon Wireless and Motorola officials will be really annoyed to see the screenshots all over the Internet.
So what do you say, Verizon, aren’t you going to launch the device already? Everyone knows it’s coming! And while you’re at it you could also consider unveiling the Storm 2!

The Motorola Droid has been pictured, detailed and rumored but we haven’t had official confirmation from either Verizon or Motorola. Lucky for those of you anxiously awaiting the device Verizon has announced that they will be holding a Droid event on October 28th, presumably to give the phone its official unveiling.
Of course, they don’t actually say that the press event is for the Droid but considering it’s a “must-have device of the year” and manufactured by Motorola, I think it’s safe to say it will be focusing on the handset.
Check back next week and we’ll let you know what went down.

Besides the Droid which is already shaping up to be one of the best Android phones manufactured so far, Verizon Wireless plans to launch another Motorola Android phone, the Calgary.
The Calgary will not match the Droid when it comes to features but unlike the Droid it will come with Motorola’s custom social networking UI, the MOTOBLUR. Other features will include a 3-megapixel camera, a 3.5mm jack, a full slide-out QWERTY keyboard and a generous touchscreen display. The Calgary is supposed to come before the end of the year and just after the Droid but we have no idea how much it will cost.
On a different note we can’t help but notice and admire Motorola. The company has three Android phones scheduled to arrive from two important U.S. carriers. And Sony Ericsson is rumored to launch the Xperia X10 Android phone only next year.

We have talked about the Motorola Droid in the past weeks and now we have a few official pictures of the device for you. And from what we hear, the phone is one of the best Android handsets to walk the earth. At least until know. Motorola seems to have developed a winner phone and Verizon Wireless customers will be able to enjoy it soon.
Let’s take a look at some specs before we jump to more photos:
Doesn’t the Droid sound exciting? It might just become the Motorola phone to beat in the near future. The handset will probably be the fastest and thinnest Android slider phone out there when Verizon decides to launch it. HTC should definitely start working on an Android phone capable of similar features.

The Motorola i776 that was leaked earlier this year during August, has been “hit” by a refreshing move that makes its design better than before. The features are still the same, which are not top-notch, but taking in consideration the success of the cellphone at Sprint this can be considered a wise move.
With that being said, the Motorola i776 is now available in purple, on top of the other color which was available from the start - burgundy. In terms of features, the i776 comes with bluetooth, a VGA camera, and GPS - you can get all this for $80 with a contract, in purple or burgundy.

A new cellphone has been seen at FCC, which is made by Motorola and codenamed i410. For now there aren’t many details available, but what we do know is that the i410 comes with entry-level features and is an iDEN-Based phone.
The so called entry-level features include an external display of small dimensions, a speakerphone, access to the internet, and PTT capabilities on top of normal messaging. Some rumours mention extra features that include GPS and bluetooth, but those are not confirmed.
We’ll keep waiting for more news about the Motorola i410 and we’ll keep you updated!

Sure, we’ve seen pictures of the Motorola Sholes before but they have all been blurry, too small, or just downright unpleasent to look at.
Today, BGR has gotten their hands on the above picture of the device and for once you can actually see all of its features. Of course, there isn’t much we don’t already know; it’s a slider, it’s shipping for Verizon Wireless and it runs Android.
We’ll keep you updated regarding a release date.

Motorola has formally made the much awaited Motorola Debut i856 is finally available. Perhaps not one of the prettiest phones ever to come out in the market, the Motorola Debut i856 is now available at Sprint. One of the striking features of the i856 is that it is the first slider phone to offer a push-to-talk service. Other features of the Motorola Debut i856 include a 176×200 pixel TFT display, a large Direct Connect button with backlight, GPS, a 1.3 megapixel camera and the other usual things you find in mobile phones today such as Bluetooth interface and microSD card slot support.
The Motorola Debut i856 is now available at Sprint for $99.99 with a 2 year contract. For customers who are planning to get the phone alone, it retails for $299.99.

It looks like Motorola fans over the pond will be able to enjoy the company’s first Android phone earlier than everyone else. The DEXT is available already in the UK from Orange so go get it while it’s hot. The phone will be available for free if you select a 2-year contract of at least £34.26 per month. For that monthly tariff you will get 900 any network voice minutes, unlimited SMS messages, Orange Maps and anytime Internet browsing.
On comparison, the CLIQ will be available from T-Mobile USA for pre-order on October 19 for $199.99 on contract. Will the CLIQ/DEXT be a hit phone? Do you intend to purchase it?

In case you don’t know, Verizon and Google reached an important agreement today. Ignoring Microsoft’s special day, the two giants said that they will work together to bring the Android experience to Verizon subscribers soon.
The first two phones coming to Verizon stores are the Motorola Droid, rumored to be available on October 30 and HTC’s Hero which will hit the streets sometime in November. We don’t have the precise details yet but everything is confirmed. Check out Google’s CEO Eric Schmidt and Verizon’s CEO Lowell McAdam holding Verizon branded Android phones in the picture above. What more of a confirmation do we need?

If that Motorola Droid seems rather strange to you well then we’ll happily remind you that you already know it as the Tao or the Sholes. The phone is supposed to be the first Android handset coming to Verizon Wireless and now we have some leaked info which point to a October 30 release date. The picture here shows a Verizon Wireless screenshot. The Motorola Sholes can be clearly read in that October 30 box so we naturally assume that the phone is coming at the end of the month. Wait a minute there… are we calling it the Sholes again? Someone has to make up their mind regarding the name of this first Verizon Android phone. We really don’t care how you call it as long as you stick to a single name!

We’re not surprised to see stuff leaked from Best Buy and this time we have some details about the company’s upcoming holiday releases. And there are quite a few phones there ready to capture your imagination, but also a netbook we’ve seen in the news lately:
We’re particularly interested in that “new technology which doesn’t exist today” mentioned in the leaked documents and we definitely want to hear more about those BlackBerry and multiple Android phones which will also be available from Best Buy soon. We’ll be back with official prices and release dates so in the mean time you have plenty of time to decide what phone to ask from Santa this Christmas!

On the first of this month we let you know that Motorola was working on an Android powered phone for Verizon reportedly called the Droid. This is supposedly the same device that has been floating around that people have been calling the Motorola Sholes.
Whatever its name is, we already know that it will most likely feature a 600MHz processor along with a 3.7-inch touchscreen, 5MP camera all powered by Google’s Android 2.0 operating system.
Today further rumors have appeared that tell us the device might also feature a 430MHz C64x + DSP + ISP in addition to a PowerVR SGX 530GPU. Hardware wise we’re also looking at a 3.5mm jack, 16GB of internal storage and a microSD slot for expansion.
December 1st is the release date these rumors are pointing at but until we hear official word from Motorola or Verizon, we’re keeping our mouths shut.

We have referred to it as the Sholes and the Tao but it looks like the first Android phone coming from Verizon will be called the Droid. And we’ll start straight with some bad news! The Droid will be a clean Android phone with no MOTOBLUR on top of it. Sadly, and for whatever reason, someone decided that the phone shouldn’t have Motorola’s highly customized social networking interface.
Here’s what specs you can expect from the Droid:
And if you want a keyboard-less version of the Droid then you’re going to get one sometime in 2010. So what do you say? Anxious about any of these two Droid versions?

For the moment CLIQ is the hot Android phone coming from Motorola via T-Mobile. But fear not Moto fans, CLIQ has a worthy follower or so we suspect. The Tao or Sholes or however they decide to call it at launch, has been spotted in the wild running Android. What other OS would it run? As you can see the phone was running Google Maps at the time the picture was taken and you can also see it’s going to offer us a pretty impressive 1390mAh battery. We have no more details at this point in time but in Verizon we trust to launch the phone already!

This ain’t the first to rise from the dead and it definitely won’t be the last, but Motorola is definitely milking the RAZR line to death. The V13 (or the Ruby as it was previously called) recently got the approval stamp from the Bluetooth SIG indicating that the device is healthy and almost ready for a release into the world. The other specs seem to sync with what we heard before and the V13 will still come with a 2.2-inch QVGA internal display, CDMA and EV-DO connectivity, a 5-megapixel autofocus camera with flash, and an external 2-inch touchscreen display, although the inclusion of Symbian UIQ 3.3 operating system is yet to be confirmed. No info on a release date as of now, but we’ll tell you when we find out.

You all know the drill folks! If you want a hot Android phone from T-Mobile you will have to patiently wait before you can pre-order it and then you’ll have to patiently wait for it some more until you actually get it.
Motorola’s CLIQ is the hot Android in question and in about 19 days from now you will be able to get pre-order it. The CLIQ should be available for $199 with a two-year contract which isn’t exactly the price we heard about a few weeks ago. The phone is certainly worth buying and you have plenty of time to decide whether you desperately want it or you can pass on it while waiting for something hotter. And if you do pre-order it, don’t expect to get it sooner than November!

The WX395 will be the first in a series of wallet-friendly cellphones that will be seeing a release in the near future. And when you say wallet friendly, you get exactly what you asked for, which means a functional cellphone that might have one or two tricks up their sleeves. The WX395 features GSM/GPRS (900/1800 MHz) network support, a 1.3 megapixel camera, microSD support with 2MB already on phone, a music player, Bluetooth 2.0, miniUSB support, and a 1.8-inch 65k-color CSTN display. Okay, no tricks up this one’s sleeve, but the upcoming models in the series like the WX160, WX180, WX260, WX280, WX288, WX390 and WX395 may have some, so we’ll still keep hope. No release price details were mentioned.
