Compared to the Motorola RAZR phones and slightly newer KRZRs, the PEBL line was never all that successful on the market and, as a consequence, few such models were released up to this date. But Motorola has just released a new PEBL phone in Brazil, the U3e.
The clamshell handset looks set to be an entry level version of the original PEBL. This quad-band GPRS/EDGE handset looks slightly different though, featuring a flat back and a standard hinge. The camera and external display are retained at expense of Bluetooth connectivity. New features include Push-to-Talk capability with Push-to-View picture sending. A mini USB slot is thrown in for file and data transfer.
Apparently, it will come equipped with a camera with video recording capabilities, push to talk and a media player. The mini-USB port it includes will allow the user to connect the handset to a computer and transfer data.
Additional details like pricing and availability are currently unknown.

Motorola Executives promised to break the company out of its trend of “one-hit-wonders” and successfully release a series of innovative cellphones that will have continuity and success in the market. Motorola has been notorious for releasing products that becomes a big hit but later on fail to continue. An example for this of course is the RAZR, which up until now, has not been followed by another product.
They had no new products to unveil at the company’s annual analyst meeting in New York, however, they are promising some announcements next month. On the defensive after a year of turmoil and subpar sales, Motorola’s leaders said they were continuing to cut costs even with its share of the world handset market down to 14.6 percent from 21.9 percent a year ago, according to Gartner Inc. Motorola’s handset unit, its largest, has been struggling after more than two years of phenomenal Razr sales that fell off sharply starting late last year. Earlier this year, the Schaumburg, Illinois-based company warned the cellphone segment would be unprofitable until at least next year.
But it has yet to come up with a worthy successor to the Razr in a market now dominated by Apple Inc’s iPhone. Motorola is in the process of introducing the Razr 2, although it is not expected to come anywhere near the
success of the original phone.
