Above is a recently leaked Verizon document that gives us a hint at the release window for a few forthcoming handsets.

Said handsets are the BlackBerry Storm 2, Motorola Sholes and LG vx8575 “Chocolate Touch” which are all listed to be launching in October. Now, we’ve heard about the Storm 2 and Sholes for some time now but not the vx8575. Although, the “Chocolate Touch” moniker leads us to believe that this will be a Verizon variation of the LG’s highly anticipated BL40.

So folks, if you’re Verizon contract is up soon you may want to wait until October before you consider a new handset.

After we’ve seen the Dell Mini 3i which is a handset made for the Chinese market, now we have another leaked handset, the LG GW880 which is also headed to China via China Mobile.

The LG GW 880 is an Android phone which basically means that LG has just created its first Android device. The phone will run China Mobile’s OPhone platform and when it comes to specs you should expect a 3.5-inch WVGA touchscreen, 256MB of RAM, GPS and a 5-megapixel camera. Do you like what you see so far? Because we’re definitely waiting to see what Android phones LG is going to launch in other parts of the world too!

  • LG Arena Hits 1 Million Sales

LG Electronics has been showing promise like Samsung thanks to its aggressive release of various new mobile handsets and now it looks like it is finally paying off. In fact, LG was proud to report that since its release 5 months ago at the Mobile World Congress, the LG Arena (LG-KM900) has sold over 1 million phones to date.

The LG Arena actually overtook LG’s professional-level camera phone with touchscreen, the LG Viewty phone (LG-KU990). The LG-KM900 has actually been a hit worldwide thanks to its collection of multimedia features and 3D interface as well as the various look and feel that this phone has made. The LG Arena is likewise available in different colors too gray, baby pink, and aqua blue, thus making it an ideal and flexible handset suited to the taste that consumers yearn for today.

  • LG Viewty GW300 Anyone?

Don’t get fooled folks, this LG phone is not the Viewty you are expecting,it is a very basic version. LG is certainly trying to capitalize on that Viewty name so you’d better be careful next time you’re considering getting a Viewty phone. You might end up getting a new LG Viewty GW300. The GW300 is a low-end handset which will come with very basic stuff on board. You can expect the GW300 to offer you a 2-megapixe camera, quadband EDGE connectivity, a QVGA display, a QWERTY keyboard and a very affordable price. The Viewty GW300 will be released in France and it will probably be available for free on new contracts.

We’ve been hearing about LG’s GD910 watch phone for too long now and yet still haven’t heard of a solid release date or price point. Luckily, Orange UK has recently told us that the watch phone will be priced at  £500 or about $825, on August 27th of this year.

While this may seem like an enormous price tag for such a small device, it’s dramatically less than the ~$1,290 Orange estimated it to cost earlier this month.

Anyone out there eagerly awaiting the GD910’s launch?

LG BL40 gets demoed on video

We’ve seen an official unveiling, we’ve seen promotional videos and we’ve seen FCC filings, but what we haven’t seen is someone actually get their hands on the device. What I bring to you above is a full video rundown of the LG BL40 done by mobiles.co.uk.

As you can see, the BL40’s 4″ wide screen is just as beautiful in real life as it looked in those promotional shots. Among various features showcased in the video, one feature that stands out to me is the web browsing which completely makes use of the whole screen.

Perhaps the iPhone will finally be getting a run for its money with this one.

We already knew that Verizon will start LTE trials by the end of the year but we had no idea that Big Red was going to start testing from July. It looks like the company has completed the first tests on July 15 in Seattle while testing in Boston has just been finished.

Verizon used LG and Samsung LTE devices but we have no idea what handsets are capable of LTE connectivity right now. According to Verizon, Motorola is also working on LTE phones so the carrier should have quite a few phones ready for the new 4G network.

Boston and Seattle currently have ten LTE cell sites and Verizon reiterated its hope to launch LTE in as many as 30 markets next year. Curious about that LTE transfer speed? Verizon is saying that at launch we can expect 7-12Mbps download and 3.5Mbps upload speeds. So what do you think? Ready to switch carriers and try some LTE out?

LG GD900 Swims with the Fishes

When we say that the LG GD900 Crystal is swimming with the fishes we don’t mean that the phone has been discontinued all of a sudden. We mean that the Crystal is literally swimming with some fishes in a glass in the video above. That’s right, this new LG phone which you will remember for its crystal clear slide-out keypad likes water. In case you have also purchased the device, keep in mind that the phone in the video above has a custom-made waterproof case. In other words your regular GD900 won’t swim with the fishes more than once, if you catch my drift. So don’t try to use your LG GD900 to take amazing pictures of the reef!

  • There isn’t much underneath to look for in the KG376, but the saying “beauty is only skin deep” can take a hike when it comes this latest clamshell from LG.  The KG376’s major features may consist of just an FM radio and a 128×128 pixel internal display, but the purple hue with the pink accent is all that is needed, keeping in mind that LG is definitely targeting young girls and women with this flipper.  The only other feature that stands out is the external LED light (in lieu of an external display), which will twinkle up every time the lady in question gets a call or a text message.  Details on pricing and availability are scarce right now, but we will keep you posted.

The LG Bliss will feature a 3-inch touchscreen, 2MP camera with video recording, 4 1/2 hours of talk time and a CAD$79.95 price point with 3-year contract on Bell.

  • LG BL40 spotted at the FCC

It seems that LG’s much sought after BL40 handset has made it’s way through the FCC reportedly for a second time.

Above is a document from the FCC of a BL40g model. While we’ve never officially heard anything about the BL40g model you can make note that the document lists the 850MHz and 1900MHz bands which means this particular device will be all ready for North American 3G.

However, we still have no word on a carrier but our best guess points to Verizon.

  • LG KG376 Phone

LG Electronics unveils another folding form factor mobile phone with the release of the LG KG376 phone. The LG KG376 seems to be designed for use by teens, particularly the women due to its external fine graphics work. The design is made of round flowers and twisting stems of red color.

The exterior combines a color combination of beige, gold and red, which should easily capture the attention of mobile enthusiasts today. It has an indicator light similar to the Sony Ericsson phones which blinks when an incoming call or text message arrives.

It has a compact size which should be handy to handle for cellphone owners and weighs only 73 grams. It also comes with FM radio. It has an internal memory that can accommodate up to 1 MB.

  • LG has finally unveiled the newest Chocolate phone, part of the Black Label series, the BL40. So let’s cut to the chase and talk features! The phone will offer you a 4-inch wide screen capable of a 800 x 345 resolution and a 21:0 aspect ratio. Other specs include a 5-megapixel camera with Schneider Kreuznach lens, aGPS, WiFi and 7.2Mbps UMTS/HSDPA connectivity.

Included above is a short demo showcasing the LG GD910 watch phone’s ability to make video calls. As you can see, the video is just a tad bit laggy but the audio seems to come out loud and clear.

I don’t know about you guys, but there’s no doubt in my mind that the LG designers behind the GD910 were using Dick Tracy’s 2-way watch radio as a reference.

Let’s just hope we see this thing hit carriers at a reasonable price because while it’s cool, a high price would make it impossible to justify owning one.
