LG Dare we like. And by we I mean me of course. It’s slick, looks good in the pictures and even better on paper. Would I want one to play with? Most definitely. Would I cheat on the new iPhone with it? Yes I would now, and I’d brag about it. After all the iPhone didn’t deliver everything we wanted right?
So here’s what we found out about the LG VX9700 Dare:
The Dare is coming from Verizon Wireless. Guess when it’s rumored to be retail ready? July 11th! I have a feeling someting else is going on that day…

Along with the LG Dare, there are two more devices that complete Verizon’s LG lineup for this summer, the LG Decoy and Chocolate 3. Both of these bring VCAST Music&Video and VZ Navigator support to Verizon customers, but differ in many other features that they have to offer. You already know of Dare’s headset-hiding ability and the five-way joystick the slider has to offer. The LG Chocolate 3, on the other hand, seems to be music oriented with a FM transmitter, media player, 1GB of internal memory, and microSD support for up to 8GB, all packed in a slim clamshell form factor. Clearly, an option for those with a penchant for style and a good music sense.
The LG Chocolate 3 will become available in July on Verizon, while the Decoy will make an appearance much earlier on June 16th.

Since touch is the flavor going around now, let me first tell you about the Dare touchscreen phone before moving on to two other LG cell phones that have made their way into Verizon’s lineup this summer. At the risk of being called an iPhone clone, or worse, an iPhone killer, the LG Dare features the revamped user touchscreen interface and an above-average 3.2-megapixel camera with a bevy of image-enhancing tools. The Dare is also capable of supporting Verizon’s VCast Music&Video and VZ Navigator, which being ready for some 3G action. Not an iPhone killer for sure but not too threadbare for an LG product either. Nevertheless, if you Dare to ward off the iPhone 3G’s charm, you can pick this baby up when it becomes available later this month.

The oddly named LG Decoy has made appearance again, this time at the Special Interest Group (SIG) Holiday Gift Guide 2008 Event being held at the Tavern on the Green in New York City to show off its concealment capabilities involving a Bluetooth headset. Other than the removable Bluetooth earpiece, this dual-band CDMA slider packs a 240×320px QVGA display, a passable 2.0 megapixel camera, video/mp3 player, and a microSD slot to care of your storage needs. Not much in there, but at $179 on a two-year plan, some might call it a steal. Look for the VX8610 on Verizon this 16th.

I love some of the new names phones have this day. Touch a Diamond? A BlackBerry that is Curve but might be Bold, depending on your needs. And a Decoy slide phone from LG. That’s its name, Decoy. But what’s in a name anyway… (more…)

Now, if you live under the Queen’s auspices and are in the market for a good cam phone at a cheap price, let me point you in the right direction. The LG KC550, which was blessed by the FCC a month ago, is on sale on a UK site and it’s going for a lot lesser than the other high-end cell phones with high-end prices out there. The KC550 sacrifices 3G/HSDPA for just tri-band GSM/EDGE connectivity, but you still get a 240×320 display and Bluetooth with A2DP support. There is an mp3 player to get your usual music fix and a microSD slot for storing them via expansion. Coming to the camera, the 5-megapixel lens is manufactured by Schneider-Kreuznach and is aided by autofocus, image stabilizer, and SmartPic technology. Now, the KC550 aims at providing a different gaming experience, with an accelerometer inside, there are 6 motion-sensing games that can keep you occupied for hours.
All this will cost you just £179.95 ($350) and the phone will be completely unlocked for use in the UK. Head over to eXpansys and start shooting!

Wirefly, an online leader in one-stop comparison shopping for cell phones and wireless phone plans, has just released the result on their survey for the Top Ten Hottest Cell Phones for summer travelers. These are probably based on the phones used by tourists and travelers throughout summer.
The handsets that top the list are the BlackBerry Curve, Palm Centro and BlackBerry Pearl. This could be due to its functionality and connectivity options that are indeed far superior than the other phones in this category.
According to Wirefly, the Top 10 hottest cell phones for travel this summer are:
1. BlackBerry Curve 8310 –AT&T
2. Palm Centro – Sprint
3. LG Vu CU920 – AT&T
4. T-Mobile Dash –T-Mobile
5. BlackBerry Pearl 8120 – T-Mobile
6. Motorola i880 – Nextel
7. LG Rumor – Sprint
8. Motorola v3m RAZR – Verizon Wireless
9. LG Voyager VX10000 – Verizon Wireless
10. LG Scoop – Alltel
Maybe the main selling point for this summer is the GPS technology included in the phone’s features. All ten phones also have capable built-in cameras, so they will be prepared to capture any memorable moment.

We would have considered this another run-of-the-mill music-oriented device were it not for its 3.5-mm headphone jack, a trump card that most other musicphones do not possess. And its capability to play up to 29 hours of your favorite tracks.
Other than these two major factors, the LG KM501 falls into the low to mid-range criteria with a 2-inch 240×320 display, a 2-megapixel camera, and 42MB of internal memory with support for up to 4GB expansion by way of microSD. Of course, to live up to its musicphone status, the KM501 has dedicated music keys, equalizer settings, and a handy background mode, not to forget the FM radio.
The KM501 is available only in Taiwan as of now, with no info on pricing yet.

LG HB620T is one of the most stylish TV mobile phones from LG Electronics. Its wide aspect screen displays TV programs as the antenna grabs terrestrial signals. The phone uses a DVB-T (Terrestrial) digital TV receiver to capture signals unlike the most common phones which rely on DVB-H (Handheld) technology. The DVB-T delivers better video and audio quality, and also removes the noise to load XD engine in the screen.
This elegant model from LG boasts a 2 Mega-Pixel camera to click superior shots, a microSD card slot to store more data, advanced Bluetooth capability to transfer data, a multimedia player, a web browser and an email client with up to 7.2 Mbps download speed for better and faster browsing.
