Looking for a new phone? Is it an LG? Is it a slider? I hope you answered yes to all those questions as I have a new LG for you. Well actually, AT&T is going to have a new LG slider for you. It’s the CF360 phone is arriving at AT&T in the following days. It’s an entry-level phone which lacks any impressive features. You should expect a 1.3 megapixel camera, microSD slot, Bluetooth, music player, GPS with AT&T Navigator but that’s about it. 23 Jan 09 LG VX9600 Versa Spotted

LG has a new phone in the works, the VX9600 or the Versa. We have no official details yet and therefore we have no idea when the phone is coming and how much it will cost.

One of the most obvious features of this phone is the detachable QWERTY keyboard module. Besides the detachable QWERTY keyboard we should expect a detachable gamepad, a pair of speakers and an Internet module with WiFi.

The dual-SIM LG-KS660 handset is going to be available in Europe and China soon. You will be answer all your calls from both your SIMs but unfortunately there’s no 3G and WiFi support for it.

But let’s not think about what the phone doesn’t have and stick to what this phone has to offer. The LG-KS660 will feature:

  • Tri-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE (900/1800/1900 MHz)
  • 3-inch WQVGA (240×400) TFT touch-screen display with feedback
  • 5 megapixel camera with autofocus, flash, and video recording (720×480)
  • microSDHC memory card slot
  • Integrated accelerometer
  • TV Out
  • USB 2.0 connectivity

So are we going to see it arrive in other markets too? Any price hints?

20 Jan 09 LG Becomes Third Largest Manufacturer

The fact that LG has just became the third largest manufacturer shouldn’t be such an unexpected event considering how 2008 turned out to be. Two major handset manufacturers have suffered deeply. These are Motorola and Sony Ericsson. We expect them both to recover sooner or later. But in the mean time LG has surpassed them and it won’t be stopped soon. LG surpassed Moto by only about 100k handset as both companies produced around 100 million phones last year. Sony Ericsson managed to sell only about 96.6 million in a disastrous 2008. What will 2009 bring in terms of handsets? Well we know Moto has a few good looking phones set for a Verizon release, but LG won’t surrender! The company wants to launch no less than 100 different handset this year. That’s almost two new handsets per week. And we’re going to cover them all for you!

Oh, and as usual, number one and two are the same companies. Nokia sold 470 million phones while Samsung trailed behind with only 200 million phones in 2008.

08 Jan 09 LG Watch Phone – The Video

The LG watch phone is not necessarily my favorite CES product so far but we’ve got to hand it to them. LG has managed to create a 3G touchscreen watch phone which is really cool. The video above will show you LG Canada at work demoing the watch. But just in case you missed it, the LG watch phone will get you 3G support, Bluetooth connectivity, Voice commands, 3 mechanical keys and 2 hours of talk time with 240 hours of standby battery life. The watch is waterproof and comes with a Bluetooth headset and it’s own charging cradle. The phone watch will only enter production at the end of the year so go ahead with those Santa letters.

29 Dec 08 LG’s new watch phone

I remember watching TV when I was younger and seeing all of those secret agents with their high-tech cellphone watches. Now when I look back, the devices they used seem largely prehistoric.

Enter LG’s new G-GD910 watch phone, pictured above. This thing comes complete with a 1.43-inch LCD touch-screen, 3G connectivity, and a built in camera. The real selling point of this device, however, is that it’s not hideous.

No word on pricing or avaliablity but we are sure to see this beauty at CES.

03 Dec 08 LG Vu 920 to Arrive in Wine from AT&T

Did you also notice the empty LG Vu shelves? And was the answer ‘Don’t know’ when you asked the seller when will they get more? Well rejoice, LG Vu 920 is coming soon!

We’ve covered the LG Vu some time ago so I’m not going to let you in on all the technical details again. But since it is one of the cheapest touchscreen phones on the market, I thought of letting you know the new Wine colored version is going be out soon! The coolest thing about it, except for the large 3 inch touchscreen, the HSDPA support and the 2 megapixel camera is the extraordinary MediaFLO technology incorporated! Well I went all specs all over you didn’t I?

All those interested just go to AT&T and you will get it for about $100. When? The words “real soon” come to mind.

28 Nov 08 LG KB770 Brings You Digital Video Broadcasting TV

You’re in for a deja-vu here. The LG KB770 will remind you of HTC’s Touch HD smartphone when it comes to watching videos on your phone. There’s a big difference though. The LG KB770 comes with a DVB-T tuner which will get you free-to-air digital TV broadcasts. It comes with a 3 inch touchscreen for a great TV watching experience.

Other than that the KB770 has tri-band GSM and WCDMA 2100 support, GPRS, EDGE, UMTS and HSDPA connectivity, but not WiFi support. And there’s not GPS which is really surprising. The 3 megapixel digital camera with autofocus will also come in handy and you get a second camera for video calling. Well we could be impressed but we’d rather disappointed it lacks two major features.

The phone might already be available in Germany and you’ll get it for 449 Euro without a contract.

28 Nov 08 LG to Maka a Formula One Special Edition Handset?

While this year’s Formula One season has come to an end, the next season is approaching. We’re not interested in what FIA is going to do with the new engine rules but we’re rather keen on checking out LG’s Formula One special edition handset. If there’s ever going to be created! We don’t have the exact details yet but we know that LG has reached an agreement with F1. LG’s Chief Marketing Officer, Dermont Boden said that LG is “looking to develop products in the future with Formula One.” Other F1 themed LG products might be created to and we might not have a handset at all!

24 Nov 08 LG Rhythm at U.S. Cellular

While the LG Rhythm was recently launched by Alltel, it doesn’t mean other mobile carriers can’t do the same. With that being said, the Rhythm is now available at U.S. Cellular.

In terms of prices, the LG Rhythm at U.S. Cellular only costs $80 after rebate and picking a 1-year or 2-year contract. As for the features, this LG phone is considered a music handset so it comes with a 3.5mm headset jack, a graphic equalizer, and FM radio. On top of these music features, it has GPS, bluetooth 2.0, and a slot for microSD memory cards of 16GB.

21 Nov 08 LG-VX8610 Cell Phone

LG is planning its next chocolate phone for Verizon Wireless, the LG VX8610. The slider phone has an unique design, which has integrated bluetooth headset with the phone. The headset is fixed on the back cover, the user can just release the bluetooth headset from the clip and start using it. Similar to VX9100, the phone comes with a 2 megapixel camera, QVGA display screen and microSD card slot.

Unfortunately, there is no official word on its availability and pricing, so we’ll just have to be patient and sit this one out for the moment.

19 Nov 08 Kodak sues Samsung and LG over Patents

Yesterday Kodak filled a lawsuit on the US against two of the most popular companies in the mobile world: Samsung and LG.

The lawsuit is related to digital-camera patents, and includes the following functionalities: image capture, compression, data storage, and preview of images in motion.

So, what does Kodak really want? Basically they want to prohibit import and sales of the Samsung and LG products that use the patents. As for what they ask in the lawsuit: unspecified damages. Classic!
