But thanks to innovation and the iPhone, an app has put its foot down on 25 million potential texting while driving incidents, something that mobile phone-crazy consumers are bound to laud. And the app that deserves that credit is the DriveSafe.ly app for the iPhone which incidentally comes free at the developer’s website.

This iPhone app really blows

Sorry about that bad pun here, but it was just way too easy. This is a piece of software that allows the iPhone to blow, somehow.

I would have thought that this would be a hardware application, but it works. There’s a video of it after the jump in case you want to see it in action, with a turbine spinning on the screen to let you know that it is working.

Star Wars Trench Run on the iPhone

I would have to say the trench run at the very end of Star Wars makes very little sense. After all, why should a Death Star have some weak spot, and why is there a convenient trench leading up to it? Of course, the final battle scene is so cool that you forget this.

Inspiration from these scenes has now been put in an iPhone for Star Wars: Trench Run. Not only can you get into Luke Skywalker’s piloting outfit and “use the force”, but you can even play on the Empire’s side and get rid of those pesky X-wings.

It is available now for $5 at the iTunes app Store, you should know that it has special graphics features for the iPhone 3GS.

iPhone PhoneBook for the kids

Check out this PhoneBook, a product from the Japan-based Mobile Art Lab. It is an iPhone accessory/product that is targetted for little kids.

All you have to do is load in the specially-made iPhone software, put in the iPhone, and a child is ready for some interactive fun and learning. I’m surprised that there isn’t more products like it.
