We mentioned a few new HTC phones earlier and now we have more details about one of them. The HTC MEGA (or is it the HTC MEGA 100 Series?) is definitely coming in the near future and according to the WiFi Alliance it’s going to come with a WiFi 802.11b/g chip on board. The MEGA is said to be a Windows Mobile 6.5 phone which will offer you a Touch 3G-like experience. That’s all we have so far but we’re used to baby steps. We’ll be patient enough to wait for HTC to properly announce all these new devices!

HTC is certainly keeping itself busy. The company has new smartphones in mind and we can expect them to appear any time in the future. The list includes phones like Leo, Click, Mega and Rome.
The Leo is apparently a flip phone which will offer an internal WVGA screen and an external QVGA screen. Other specs include Open GL2.0 and a Snapdragon processor. Anxious about a new flip phone from HTC?
While the information about the Leo comes from a leaked Manilla 2.5, the other three names are mentioned in an eBay auction which sells a charger compatible with the Click, Mega, Rome and Leo phones. The Click is supposed to be an entry-level Android phone but we have no details regarding the phone. The Rome and Mega are the remaining two HTC phones but we’ll have to wait for someone to leak some specs before we can draw any conclusions.

Stars in their respective classes, we know many of you are still scratching your heads on whether to go with the HTC Touch Pro2 or the Nokia N97. Being an erstwhile Nokia user and a current HTC owner, I respect and like the quality of the both comapnies’ products, so I may not be the right guy to show you the way, but TeknoReview has put up a great video to help you out with just that, an all-out showdown between the two flagship smartphones, baring their features down for you in 12 whole rounds. So, without further ado, here is the video:

We told you this was happening a while ago and it seems HTC has already been manufacturing handsets featuring a 3.5mm headphone jack. In fact, one of the first phones ready packing the new audio jack will be the HTC Touch Pro2 and it looks like both Telus and Verizon will get this Touch Pro2 version. The phone will be available soon from both carriers but we have no exact arrival dates yet.

T-Mobile has recently announced that they will be bringing their the HTC Hero rebranded as the G2 Touch to the German market in August as opposed to July as previously thought.
If the price point stays the same you will be able to snag T-Mobile UK’s G2 Touch for free on an 18-month contract with a service plan of at least $60.
If you haven’t been paying attention, this handset will feature HTC’s much sought after Sense UI along with a 320 x 480 touch-screen display, 5MP camera, a trackball, WiFi, 3G, Bluetooth and a 3.5mm headphone jack. Sign me up!

Visual voicemail has been out for some time now on phones such as the iPhone, Samsung Instinct and various Blackberry models. However, most handsets running Google’s Android operating system haven’t gotten the same love.
Luckily, T-Mobile’s myTouch 3G will in fact include visual voicemail and the TmoNews has been kind enough to demo the software for us. You can view 3 videos of the service, here.
Once this software is up and working, the question remains if it will be ported to other Android devices. I guess only time can tell at this point.

Best Buy is another place where you can purchase the myTouch now. The Android smartphone is not available in store yet but it is available for pre-sale. For just a $50 deposit you will reserve your own myTouch phone. Naturally you’ll have to pay the rest and sign up for a new 2-year T-Mobile contract when the phone will be available. Unfortunately you will only be able to choose from a red or white model. The black model will be available only from T-Mobile later on. But if color is no object to you, then you can go to Best Buy right away and finalize the pre-sale.

Previously thought to be launching on July 15th, it seems that the HTC Hero’s UK launch has been pushed back. This news comes to us from Amazon UK’s HTC Hero product listing that now states the device will be released on July 24th.
Those anxious to get their hands on the handset need not fret as the delay is only about a week. However, since HTC’s Hero has been so well recieved thus far, those who haven’t already pre-ordered probably won’t get their hands on the device until some time after it hits the streets.
Now the question remains, when will we be seeing the HTC Hero on a US carrier? Anyone?

I’m sure you are already aware that Telus has decided to bring the BlackBerry Tour, the HTC Snap and the Touch Pro2 to its Canadians customers. I’m glad to tell you folks that the first smartphone has arrived. The Snap and the Touch Pro2 are a bit late but definitely still coming.
The Tour will cost you $229.99 with a 3-year contract or $599.99 if you decide to get it off contract. The HTC Snap and the Touch Pro2 are coming on July 15 and 21, respectively. We’ll be patiently waiting for officially official pricing details so stay tuned!

T-Mobile USA has clearly announced that it has no plans to launch the HTC Hero in the USA. That doesn’t mean that T-Mobile UK will not bring HTC’s latest Android phone in the UK. In fact the UK carrier will launch the HTC Hero and it’s going to call it the G2 Touch. It’s not exactly clear what Hero will actually be available in the UK so we’re counting on T-Mobile UK to tell us more soon. Is it the keyboard version?
What we do know is that the G2 Touch will be available for free with a new 18-month contract as long as you’re willing to commit to a plan of at least $60 per month. What Hero will you choose? The one offered by T-Mobile UK or the one coming from Orange UK?

Most phones out there come with a regular 3.5mm jack ready to accommodate your favorite phones and bring your favorite music to your favorite ears. And when we say most phones we certainly don’t mean HTC phones. According to HTC a “vast majority of devices we launch after Hero” will be fitted with a nice, revolutionary, 3.5mm headphone jack. That standard feature is coming to future HTC phones so the company definitely deserves our applause for the day. We could use some insight on those future HTC handsets now that we know they’re not going to need a headphone adapter.

How is this even possible? The Hero is probably the best Android phone coming from HTC and T-Mobile is not interested in launching it? According to T-Mobile’s CTO Cole Brodman T-Mobile “has no plans to bring the HTC Hero to market.” Sure it’s understandable that T-Mobile will want to sell the Magic aka myTouch 3G first but why not go for the Hero too? That statement was made during the myTouch 3G launch event and the message is pretty clear. There’s no room for interpretation here! No means no this time.
So now that the Magic is available for pre-order we have only one question left for T-Mobile: what carrier is going to launch the HTC Hero and who when will that happen?

A video has hit the interwebs showcasing the beautiful UI that is to be featured on the forthcoming Android powered Sony Ericsson handset.
As you can see, this UI is looking to give HTC’s Sense UI a run for its money as Sony seems to have completely redone the stock Android UI. But anyways, enough chit chat, watch the above video and bask in the glory that is Rachael.
Now that we’ve seen the UI, can we get a release date and/or a price, Sony? Please?

It seems that T-Mobile has recently made their Dash 3G handset (also known as the Snap) available through their website. This goes against rumors that the Dash 3G wouldn’t be making its way onto the service until July 15th.
For $169.99 with a 2-year contract you will get a 2.4-inch QVGA screen, WiFi, GPS, Exchange, a full QWERTY keyboard and Windows Mobile 6.1. What, no Android?

Just yesterday we learned that T-Mobile would be offering the myTouch 3G for $199.99 with a 2-year contract. Now, we find that the carrier has put the myTouch 3G up for pre-order with a gauranteed delivery by August 5th.
For those who don’t know, the myTouch 3G will be T-Mobile’s latest Android offering and will feature a 3.2 inch touch screen, a 3.2MP camera, GPS, WiFi, HSDPA and a microSD slot.
This handset is cool and all but what I’m really waiting for is the HTC Hero.

We knew this was coming and it is now official. Well almost official since T-Mobile is yet to announce its availability dates and pricing. But according to these leaked shots, the myTouch 3G, or the HTC Magic, is going to be available from T-Mobile for $199.99 with a 2-year contract. Would you pay that much for the Magic or would you rather wait for the Hero to appear in stores?
If you’re already a postpaid or FlexPay customer you will be able to pre-order the Android phone and have it delivered to your door anytime from July 29 to August 3. Otherwise you’ll have to wait for the phone a few more days. So what do you think Android lovers? Is the Magic worthy of your attention at that price?

Telus has three hot phones coming in this July. Two are coming from HTC and you’re probably expecting them: the HTC Snap and the HTC Touch Pro2. The other one is RIM’s latest Berry, the BlackBerry Tour.
It would be interesting to see what Telus’ customers will choose between a new BlackBerry and a new HTC that looks like a BlackBerry. The Tour and the Snap will be launched on the same day, July 15 while the Touch Pro2 is coming only on July 21. The Tour will be available for $249.99 and the Snap for $29.99. The Touch Pro2 will cost $249.99 and these prices will only be available with new 3-year contracts. So what do you say folks? Which phone is it going to be your favorite?

Despite being released in Canada only recently, Rogers Wireless has announced that they will be lowering the prices of both the HTC Dream and HTC Magic to $99.99.
Of course, you’ll have to opt for a 3-year contract before you get the lowered price but $99.99 for an Android phone? Count me in.
Hell, after seeing that a hacker got HTC’s Sense UI running on one of these phones makes the deal even more enticing.

There’s a new Android phone available out there and I don’t mean any new HTC phone. The HIGHSCREEN PP5420 made by Vobis Computer will offer you quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE, dual-band 7.2Mbps HSPA connectivity, a 528MHz processor, 256MB ROM, 128MB RAM, 3-inch WQVGA touchscreen , a 3-megapixel auto-focus camera, WiFi, aGPS, Bluetooth 2.0+EDR, and a 1080 mAh battery. The phone will go on sale in Russia starting with July 6 and you can expect it to cost around $500 without a contract. Would you pick the HIGHSCREEN PP5420 over the HTC Hero?
