Cellular South picked the HTC Hero a few weeks ago, and today they started accepting pre-orders for the smartphone. And the best part is that there is a “good” deal to go with it, related to the monthly plans.
At $80 per month you get the best package - Smartphone Unlimited Plan - which includes everything unlimited such as talk, text, web and email. In case you want to add another phone to this plan, it only costs half the price of the original, and for $40 you get the same. The HTC Hero can be pre-ordered online or at Cellular South stores for $100 after rebate.

Rumors of the HTC Touch HD2 have been floating around for some time now but they have been more focused on the software side of things and not what we can expect to see under the hood.
Today, further rumors have surfaced that give us a look at the specs which are a 1Ghz Snapdragon processor, 7.2Mbps HSPA, a 4.3-inch WVGA touchscreen, FM radio, 5MP camera, Bluetooth 2.1, and a 3.5mm audio out jack.
Unfortunately, there aren’t any solid dates for when we will be seeing the HTC Touch HD2 but rumor has it we will be seeing the device hit T-Mobile UK at some point in the non-too-distant future.

Microsoft’s answer to Apple’s App Store wasn’t schedule to go live until tomorrow October 6th but it seems that the guys over at Redmond have jumped the gun launching the Marketplace today, one day early.
Make note that the only phone currently available that is able to access the Marketplace is the HTC manufactured AT&T Pure which runs Windows Mobile 6.5. Everything else, you’re going to have to wait until the coming weeks where more Windows Mobile 6.5 powered phones are expected to be released.

We’re not surprised to see stuff leaked from Best Buy and this time we have some details about the company’s upcoming holiday releases. And there are quite a few phones there ready to capture your imagination, but also a netbook we’ve seen in the news lately:
We’re particularly interested in that “new technology which doesn’t exist today” mentioned in the leaked documents and we definitely want to hear more about those BlackBerry and multiple Android phones which will also be available from Best Buy soon. We’ll be back with official prices and release dates so in the mean time you have plenty of time to decide what phone to ask from Santa this Christmas!

What do you know folks, it looks like AT&T has quietly decided to start selling the Pure with a couple of days to go before Windows Mobile 6.5 goes official. In case you forgot the Pure is HTC’s Touch Diamond2, one of the first phones announced to run Microsoft’s latest mobile OS. Notice the date on the phone in the picture here and feel free to run to your closest AT&T store to get it. Of course, you could always reconsider and wait for a different Windows Mobile 6.5 to arrive. I hear there are 30 phones ready to run the OS by the end of the year?

What you see above is a live shot of the Windows Mobile 6.5 powered HTC Pure destined for an AT&T launch. Don’t think you’ll be able to walk into your local store and purchase one as it hasn’t been confirmed that all stores have them in stock and it’s not even for sale yet.
Those of you who know the HTC Touch Diamond2 will be familiar with this phone as spec wise it is the same thing except for the fact that it features a different body design exclusive to AT&T.
Why exactly they would take a perfectly good design and make it uglier, I don’t know.

Why wait another three days when you can do it today right? Seems like HTC and Vodafone Germany thought so too as the Windows Mobile 6.5 ROM is available for the subscribers on the carrier’s network who own a Touch Diamond2. Upgrading users will also get the new TouchFLO 3D that integrates weather details with the home screen. Go ahead and rev up your favorite download manager and get the update from here.

Talk about the HTC Imagio has been happening for a while now nd have had pictures of the device in tow. What we haven’t seen, however, is a full blown video preview of the device until now, that is.
Above we’ve included said video preview of the device where you’ll be able to oogle at the beauty of Windows Mobile 6.5 if you don’t distracted by the previewer’s finger nails, that is.
For those of you who want to get their hands on the actual device, you’ll have to wait until October 6th.

We have covered several articles of rumors on the imagio over the last few days and it looks like today Verizon has officially decided to confirm that the phone will be available next week, starting with October 6 and you’ll be able to get it for just $199 after a $100 mail-in rebate on a 2-year contract.
This Windows Mobile 6.5 phone will offer you a 3.6-WVGA touchscreen display, 5-megapixel camera with autofocus, WiFi, quad-band EDGE, 2100MHz UMTS/HSDPA connectivity and EV-DO Rev. A support. Naturally that HTC TouchFLO 3D UI is present and MediaFLO support will also be included for $15 per month! Anyone interested in the HTC Imagio?

The screenshot here comes to prove that HTC’s latest Windows Mobile 6.5 phone is headed to O2 as previously discussed. The phone has already appeared in O2’s UK catalog which is all the confirmation we need! The HD2 or the LEO is supposed to become available anywhere from October 12 to October 26. If you’re going to go look for the catalog, you might be surprised to see it’s not available yet in O2 stores. It’s almost October so you can check back in a few days and actually see the HTC HD2 on printed paper for yourself. And its funny how the phone’s OS is clearly displayed in this leaked shot. Should we assume there’s no TouchFLO 3D like we heard on top of Redmond’s mobile OS?

Sprint has recently announced that they will be lowering the price of the HTC Touch Pro2 from $349 to a much more palatable $199.99 starting on October 1st.
This was most likely due to the fact that Verizon has had the Touch Pro2 at $199.99 for some time now. That and who is going to buy a Windows Mobile device for such a high price unless it’s the HTC Leo?

It seems that the same handset we spotted a few weeks ago has again turned up and this time with a Verizon branding. The above handset is the Windows Mobile 6.5 powered HTC Imagio that was rumored be launching for Verizon on October 6th.
The device is said to feature Verizon’s VCAST TV service in addition to a 528MHz processor, 3.6-inch touch screen, WiFI, HTC’s TouchFLO 3D UI and a microSD port.
In other words, this device is nothing special but the fact that it has Windows Mobile 6.5 on it means Microsoft is sure to hype it up.

Fortunately for Android fans there’s another phone coming your way from HTC that’s going to run Google’s OS. The Desire is the phone in question and it looks like the handset have been blessed by the FCC. The phone might be heading to Verizon soon and it could become the first Android phone to be sold by Big Red. Besides being approved by the FCC, the phone has also received WiFi certification from the WiFi Alliance. And that’s all the news there is to it. Hopefully the Desire will be at least as hot as the Hero and we envision it coming with Donut on and HTC Sense UI on top. What do you think?

We knew the 1GHz Snadragon processor would work wonders, but we never expected it to be 300% better than the Touch HD in the graphics area. Of course, the ginormous capacitive touchscreen display is a lot of help along with its other unbelievable specs, but with 1822% increase on a single test, we are looking at one wild stallion, people! We at MobileWhack can’t wait to get our hands on this superphone when it is scheduled to drop in October, but we are sure you guys can’t wait too. Hit the link below to get the full details on the tests.

Rumors surfaced yesterday that we would possibly be seeing the HTC Leo appear on O2 UK as the HTC HD2. Well, it seems part of those rumors are to be believed as Engadget has recently gotten their hands on the above photograph that shows that the handset will in fact be dropping on the carrier.
What’s even more interesting is that if you sign up for the correct 18-month contract you will be given the HTC Leo for free. Now all we need to do is hear of a North American carrier that will pick up the device as it is every Windows Mobile fanboy’s dream (if such a person exists).

If a recent Engadget tipster is to be believed we may be seeing the 4.3-inch touchscreen touting HTC Leo be made available for O2 UK on October 12th as the HTC HD2.
Now, for those of you not paying attention the HTC Leo is to feature a 1GHz Snapdragon processor, Windows Mobile 6.5, WiFi, GPS, HSDPA and a 5MP camera.
Let’s just hope that HTC strikes a deal with a North American carrier sooner rather than later.

Don’t look so surprised by that number! Windows Mobile 6.5 is coming and it looks like there are quite a few phone makers ready to roll phone capable or running Microsoft’s newest OS. And while we’re definitely thrilled to see that concept tablet, the Courier already, we can’t say we’re similarly interested in Windows Mobile 6.5. The OS is clearly a transition platform from the old Windows Mobile 6 to the future Windows Mobile 7.
Nonetheless manufacturers out there are ready to launch Windows Mobile 6.5 phones! Those 30 new handsets capable of running Microsoft latest OS will be made by HTC, Samsung, LG, Sony Ericsson, Acer, Toshiba and HP. The phones will be released by the end of the year and we know a few carriers are definitely interested: AT&T, Sprint, Verizon Wireless, Orange, T-Mobile, Vodafone, NTT DoCoMo, Softbank Mobile, SKT, Telestra and Telus.

People in the UK may be getting their hands on it first, but at least the FCC approval denotes that the Tattoo is one step further on in getting to the good ol’ USA. You know what it’s made of already but in brief, the Tattoo will be the fourth device from HTC to jive with Android and comes with quadband GSM/EDGE/HSDPA900/1700/2100 network support, a 3.2 megapixel camera, GPS, microSD support and a touchscreen display that is too small to be capacitive. Won’t be long before we hear the trumpets blowing for this little fella in the US.

The HTC Tattoo is no Hero, but it still has the Android factor, which in itself is a selling point right now. Vodafone has announced that its UK customers will have the first go at this 2.8-inch touchscreen device and according to the press release, it will be packing a few treats when it is released. Riding alongside its 3.2 megapixel camera, 3.5mm headset jack, GPS, and microSD support will be an FM radio and Android 1.6 operating system. That enough for you to buy this device? If you said yes, go ahead and reserve yours now!
