We weren’t expecting this to happen but that doesn’t mean we’re not anxious to see what handsets these three companies are going to bring us. NEC, Casio and Hitachi are going to work together next year to deliver new mobile devices. The deal will be inked in April 2010 and the new trio will become the second-largest venture in Japan after Sharp. We’d like to tell you we have an idea of what phones to expect from NEC Casio and Hitachi but unfortunately we really don’t. We can only hope to be pleasantly surprised sometime later next year by the first NEC Casio and Hitachi mobile phones.

Among the less illustrious cellphones that appeared on the leaked Verizon roadmap was the Casio Brigade C741, which has now graduated from the FCC.  We already have a vague idea that the handset will pack Push to Talk from the leaked roadmap, and the FCC release reveals that the Brigade will have CDMA and Bluetooth radios snuck in.  That’s all the details we have on it at this point and we could hazard a guess that the C741 will be a low to mid range device, unless Verizon goes official on it and proves us wrong, which is just what we are looking forward to in the coming months!

Nothing showcases a mobile phone and its features better than a saucy video with a curvaceous babe cradling it in a shower, or so thinks Verizon as that’s exactly the situation we caught the upcoming Casio Exilim C721 in.  If you care to watch the promo video (and I know you will) after the break, you can see the lady demonstrating its waterproof casing and its 5-megapixel camera to snap some pretty interesting pictures for her lucky boyfriend.  Seems like that’s about all you can do with the cell phone while bathing as we still have no idea what else the C721 is capable of until Verizon or Casio deems us fit to let us in the loop. Keep reading to watch the video…

Casio CA001 Touchscreen Phone

Touchscreen is the craze these days and Casio has the iPhone to thank for coming up with their new concept. Although we have seen such a concept in the Sony Ericsson P990 series some years back, it seems that new phones today require it if they want to be noticed.

Casio may not be a major player in the mobile business but it has its own device competing for positioning. The Casio CA001 is a touchscreen phone that also allows keypad interface as well.

The Casio CA001 looks like a typical clam shell phone or a touchscreen input phone. It also features a 5 megapixel camera, Bluetooth, and a microSD slot. Buttons along the side of the phone suggest that Casio is gearing up for the music capabilities of this phone. It is also capable of wireless music playback with the right headphones.

The Casio W61CA features a 2.7-inch QVGA LCD, a microSD card slot of up to 2GB, high-speed infrared connection, and Japanese-English dictionary among others.
