One more strike for Apple and its iPhone. There’s a security flaw in both 2.0.1 or 2.0.2 firmware versions which would allow unwanted people to get inside your phone even when you think it’s safely locked. (more…)

Here’s an interesting rumored we’ve came across. Apple and AT&T are apparently working on iPhone tethering. Well why not simply allow that much debated third application we like to call NetShare back in the App store?
iPhone tethering is available after jailbreaking your phone first but if AT&T gets wind of any of that you will get in trouble.
On another hand AT&T is offering tethering support for various BlackBerries so why not allow the same service for the iPhone? I am sure iPhone users wouldn’t mind tethering it once in a while.

Six weeks have passed since the iPhone 3G has been launched and Apple is almost near the 6 million mark. If we do the math, that means almost 1 million handsets have been sold every week although that’s just a personal estimate. (more…)

Orange France has admitted that it has tampered with iPhone 3G speeds. Its excuse is that the decision was taken in order to keep the network as stable as possible. Well I didn’t know the iPhone 3G will make any network unstable. (more…)

While AT&T has sold lots of iPhones in the USA so far, T-Mobile is making baby steps. It has sold only 120,000 iPhone 3Gs so far, which isn’t bad at all. In Germany, 75,000 units have been sold so far and I am sure more will follow.
Apple is reported to have an 8% of the European market already so they will want to increase it. Let’s not forget the 10 million target for this year. With 4 months to go Apple might just pull it off!

Apple seems confident it will sell about 3.5 million iPhones in Russia and it has finally reached an agreement with Mobile TeleSystems, Russia’s largest carrier to sell the handset starting October. According to previous rumors we were expecting the iPhone 3G to enter the Russian market only in 2009.
Besides MTS, Vimpelcom and MegaFon are also considered by Apple to sell the iPhone. Currently more than 600,000 iPhones are being used unofficially in Russia and more are going to be sold by the time Apple will start to ship handsets to the country.
Russian carriers are expected to buy the iPhone for $399 from Apple and sell it for about $990. Quite a price! Not the usual affordable price Apple has been promoting but cheaper than any unlocked iPhone brought over from abroad.

It doesn’t come as a surprise to anyone that the iPhone Dev Team has already launched version 2.0.3 of their PwnageTool. It was a necessary update following Apple’s 2.0.2 firmware update.
Version 2.0.3 brings you support for iPhone and iPod touch firmware 2.0.2 5C1, an updated version of Installer.app beta 6 and a new localization for German speaking users.
Well go on now, jailbreak your phone now. It’s safe!

What do you think about an iPhone for your home? Would you actually use? I certainly see the iPhone’s usability but would I get a home version? I think not, but let’s give it a closer look.
The company manufacturing this device is OpenPeak and it has been working on this version for about a year and a half. Are they ready? Not yet! The final version will hit the market sometime in the first quarter of 2009.
The phone is said to have been designed as a communication center for the whole family and third party developers will be able to create applications specially designed for this iPhone. Ok, but why keep investing in landlines when you are mostly talking on your cell phone?
This iPhone Home will be available from Verizon and AT&T but you might find it available with other private resellers too. The price is rumored to be somewhere between $200 to $300. The price is not that bad for a smartphone but it might be too much for a phone you’ll hardly use. Sure OpenPeak says their product will have lots of other features, but I really hate being the one that tells them we have computers at home which are more than able to perform complicated tasks. And VoIP is one of them.
Still skeptical about this phone, but if you do happen to get it, do tell us more about it!

Well it’s none other than Kevin Rose, founder of Digg, that has some interesting leaked information about upcoming Apple products. It appears that he knows Apple secrets, or at least he does have some good inside sources.
If what he is saying is true, we’re going to see a totally new redesigned iPod nano which will not only bring a wider and longer screen but it will have a whole new body concept. The iPod touch will get some make up here and there but it won’t significantly change. The iPods are said to be available sometime in September. And Rose is saying future iPods will get important price cuts.
As for Apple software, we are to expect a whole new iTunes 8.0 with lots of new things included. Then there’s iPhone firmware 2.1 which is going to be released. iPod touch will have this software installed by default. And Mac OS 10.5.6 is going to get Blu-ray support.
Should we believe all this? Let’s see what September brings!

Today is the day when customers in 20 more countries have started to purchase the new iPhone 3G and one of them is Poland. Orange is the carrier which brings Apple’s handset in some European countries, including Poland. From what we hear, Polish people aren’t that enthusiastic about the phone.
It appears that Orange has hired fake actors to stand in fake iPhone lines to draw attention to their store and make people buy the new iPhone. I don’t know if this is good marketing here or plain desperation. After all not everyone will want Apple’s phones, no matter what version. And I don’t know if a fake line would make me buy a phone. I’d appreciate good prices and fair plans.
Speaking about plans, we have no idea what iPhone plans Orange Poland has. The carrier failed to advertise them on their site. What’s the matter Orange? Are they too high?
On comparison, Orange Poland’s competitor Era doesn’t have any lines in front of the stores. And they have their offers available for the public. Era’s cheapest plan is $43 per month and it includes 150 minutes, 450 SMS messages and 500MB of data while the most expensive plan is at $156 per month and it includes 800 minutes, 2,400 message and 5GB of data. Well… who needs 2,400 messages?
Getting back to Orange Poland now. If you can prove the fake lines, drop us a line!

After releasing jailbreaking software for both the Apple and Windows platforms it appears that the iPhone Dev Team is working on a faster software to jailbreak your phone called QuickPwn. With Pwnage Tool you would be required to perform a full Restore on your iPhone before getting access to its file system. And since Apple is rolling out firmware updates, the Dev Team will have to keep up and roll corresponding jailbreak solutions if required.

iPhone fans in Turkey are going to get the iPhone 3G later this year from Turkcell, one of the most important carriers in the country. The wireless provider has about 35 million subscribers so I’d imagine quite a few of them might be interested in an iPhone deal. Especially as Turkcell announced it will offer the handset with contract or with pre-paid credit. No clear information are given about release dates or pricing so later this year should do for now.
Those people interested should register with Turkcell to get more relevant details and subsequently leak some of those to us too.
Lale Saral Develioglu, Turkcell’s chief marketing officer, said:
Tags: Apple, Apple, iphone 3g, Mobile News, Turkcell, TurkeyWe’re very excited to be working with Apple to bring the iPhone 3G to Turkey. The iPhone 3G represents the ultimate in mobile device technologies, and we can’t wait to offer this innovative product to millions of mobile customers later this year.

A couple of weeks ago we were telling you how Russia is more likely to get the official iPhone 3G sometime in 2009. Nothing spectacular about that. Russians are busy with the Georgian conflict anyhow right now.t
If we are to believe recent rumors, two carriers are already in deep negotiation with Apple in order to get the iPhone deal. OAO VimpelCom and OAO MegaFon which are Russia’s second and third biggest mobile opperators are the companies we are talking about. Apple wants to deploy between 1 and 1.5 million iPhones to be deployed with each of them according to undisclosed sources from both companies.

Have you ever wanted to get a clearer picture out of your iPhone? Well, that sucks, you have to wait until Apple decides to boost up the measly 1.3MP camera the iPhone has on board.
But, if you just so happen to want an extra 6x Zoom on your iPhone then this product is definitely for you.
As you can see above, all you do is snap the $19 Brando Telescope onto the back of your iPhone and now you have an iTelescope.
Not to mention you look like a complete n00b. Want one? Here.

Firmware 2.1 for iPhone is set to arrive sometime in September. We’ve heard about various beta updates and it appears there’s one more. Beta 4 will disable the service which allows background data for native applications.
That means that the push notification data has been suspended for an indefinite period of time. It’s likely to return when Apple feels ready. Hopefully they will get they feeling by September since the push thing is for some the key feature in their iPhone.
Apple says that the notification code will be off limits for further development, without offering more information about future betas. I guess third party developers will pause any application that could use the push service until Apple finishes of the further development thing.

The iPhone 3G is far from the perfect handset we were expecting prior to June 9th. One of the most discussed problems is the reception issue. Apple can’t have a problem like that disturb their handset can they. Apparently they have been working on a solution and a firmware fix is supposed to be released sometime this September. No official announcement has been made yet and these are just rumors for now.

So much for all the long lines in front of AT&T stores and waiting periods. AT&T has at last made the wise decision of extending its iPhone 3G sales on to the web. The iPhone 3G can now be bought from AT&T’s business and professional website by logging into the Premier account available for business users. The cost of $199-$299 will not change and the same goes for the rate plans. So go on, orders yours from the comfort of your home (or office most probably, seeing that this option is available only to business users)
