Here’s something nobody expected from Windows 7. It looks like the new Microsoft OS and the iPhone don’t really like each other. There are various syncing issues already reported but Microsoft is not to blame this time. At fault seems to be Intel’s P55 Express chipset and its USB controller. People say that the iPhone gets recognized but syncing is not possible. We’ll be waiting for an official stance on the matter and the parties involved should better find a fix for it. The iPhone is the best sold phone so far and Windows 7 is already very popular. Naturally there are quite a lot of iPhone owners out there that will be using Windows 7 soon. And let’s not forget that Apple is getting ready to ship iMacs packing Intel Core i5 and i7 processors in November. Cupertino would hate to see similar syncing problems occur especially between iMacs and iPhones. So what do you say Intel? Is a fix coming soon?

AT&T is still riding on the iPhone wave and I don’t want to imagine what will happen when they will eventually lose the iPhone exclusivity deal. The company has reported another great quarter despite the recession which is still being felt in various other domains. From the 4.3 million handsets activated by AT&T last quarter 74% or 3.2 million were iPhones. 1.28 million of those 3.2 million iPhone customers were new AT&T customers. That says a lot about the popularity of Apple’s phone and we can expect a lot more people to go for the iPhone in the following months.
AT&T has reached 81.6 million subscribers right now and about 25% of those are playing with iPhones. I bet that the competition is really annoyed for not having said yes to Apple a long time ago when Cupertino was looking for a partner to start selling the iPhone.
On a different note, the more people are buying iPhones and 3G devices, the worse 3G service they’re going to get from AT&T. Any thoughts on the matter?

You might have noticed how everyone around the Internet is calling Apple’s latest iPhone differently. So what’s the phone’s name people? Is it iPhone 3G S or iPhone 3GS? Well it looks like Apple is definitely going with the no space version. So the new iPhone will be known as the 3GS forever. No more space between 3G and S.
At first we were referring to it as the iPhone 3GS but then we noticed how Apple is calling it the 3G S and thus we adapted. It seems that Apple doesn’t like that space there. Just check their website and you’ll noticed how the space has magically disappeared.

Alltell and LG are proud to announce the LG iX840 Tritan, a handset that might actually garner some interest in the not-so-popular carrier.
As you can see above, the LG Tritan features a sleep design along with a sliding QWERTY keyboard. Couple this with the phone’s 3″ touch-screen, full internet browser and 3G connectivity, a 3MP camera with auto-focus and optical zoom and you have yourself a very very nice device.
Alltel says that they will offer the Tritan for $99.99 after a $100 mail-in rebate. Any takers?

Here’s a nice surprise coming from Verizon’s little brother, Alltel. The carrier is apparently getting ready to offer you some new contracts when you purchase subsidized phones. Instead of the regular 2-year contract you will now be able to choose a 1-year minimum contract. And the price for the handset you pick will not change. Will Verizon follow this move?
Here’s what Paul Bowerstock, Senior Sales and Operations Leader for the Alltel Divestiture Trust said:
Wireless customers have been waiting for an option like this for a long time. With a 1-year contract option, customers can take greater control over their wireless experience, having the flexibility to choose their contract length and the latest innovative handsets at the most competitive price possible.
The new policy change will apply to new and existing Alltel customers . All we need now are some hot phones to be bundled with those great new contracts.

Remember that LG Rumor 2 that Sprint announced it will be available in a few days? Well Alltel has just beaten that offer. Verizon’s little brother has decided to offer its own version of the Rumor 2, but they call it the Banter.
The Banter is the Rumor 2 and it’s up on Alltel’s website. There’s no price yet but we assume Alltel will match Sprint’s offer. So which one would you choose? The Banter or the Rumor 2?

Verizon has successfully purchased Alltel but we knew all that already. What’s new is the fact that Verizon plans to complete the acquisition by Friday, January 9th. Alltel is about to receive $5.9 million for Alltel’s 14 million subscribers. The move will finally transform Verizon into the largest U.S. carrier with 78 million customers.
Following the completion of the deal, Verizon will sell its assets in markets that overlap with Alltel and it will open a call center in Little Rock after closing Alltel’s headquarters from the same city. What are we going to expect from the top U.S. carrier in 2009? Hopefully just great things!

If you happen to love golf and your iPhone, there’s a way to put to good use that old swing of yours. With the Handgrip iPhone Charger you can swing for power and then start charge your iPhone.
Besides the whole battery charging thing, there’s also an application inside it which will show your swing performance on your iPhone.
Swing this many times and you get some electricity to charge your iPhone. This time, its motion sensor sends your form data to your iPhone so that you can see your own golf swing animated.
How much it costs and when will it be available?
