Every once in a while, some product comes along that will boost cellular phone signals. This one is the CellLynx 5BARz booster that is about the size of a paperback book, and guarantees five bars within the carrier’s coverage area, provided you have reception in the first place.

The 5BARz is compatible with both AC outlets and cigarette lighters, and works with GSM and CDMA networks. You should be able to get it for about $300.

iPhone PhoneBook for the kids

Check out this PhoneBook, a product from the Japan-based Mobile Art Lab. It is an iPhone accessory/product that is targetted for little kids.

All you have to do is load in the specially-made iPhone software, put in the iPhone, and a child is ready for some interactive fun and learning. I’m surprised that there isn’t more products like it.

Magellan’s iPhone cradle

  • Tempo Tags could do so much more

Yes, these Tempo Tags are tiny clip-on watches designed to…tell time. I suppose the Tempo Tags are a sign of the times, where digital tech is applied to a paper clip.

They are about $18 for a pair of them, and you can even get one that does the temperature for about $15. The fact that they are called Tempo Tags must mean that they should be easily disposable, correct? All I can think of is how Tempo Tags will do so much more in the future like view television, do radio, make phone calls…etc.

I like digital picture frames as much as the next guy, and this one from JOBO combines the convenience of a scanner. All you need to do is scan a photo in, and the digital versions will be stored on the frame’s 1GB of memory. That, or be transferred to a flash drive, SD, MemoryStick or XD. You can also attach it to a PC or laptop using a USB cable.

The JOBO Scanviewer has an 8-inch TFT LCD and is available in December for a price of about $380.

  • Eneloop Stick Booster for your mobile devices

I don’t know if you’ve ever heard of eneloop batteries, but, according to the company, they can be recharged more than 1,500 times and are more effective than dry cells because “they don’t meet the current requirement of some devices”.

Two of these batteries come with the Eneloop Stick Booster, a USB device that can charge them up for about an hour and a half. This Stick Booster is made from aluminum, is 5.8 inches long, and will be sold in Japan for about $35 starting December 1st.

  • Digital photo frames and iPhone accessories have been simultaneously gaining ground as far as demand and popularity is concerned and now it seems that these two devices can be rolled into one with the Appstand. With the Appstand, you can now turn your iPhone into a classy digital photo frame. The Appstand seems to take the innovation brought about by docking stations only that you can dock, recharge and then showcase images while your iPhone or iPod is idle. The Appstand costs only $20 to own.

The OpenOffice Mouse (or OOMouse) is definitely one of the craziest that I have ever seen. It has 18 programmable mouse buttons, a scroll wheel, and three different button modes that include key, keypress and macro. It also has a joystick (you can see it as a lump on the left side of the OOMouse) which is capable of 16 macros. All of this adds up to a mouse that can launch 52 commands with a touch of a button, and could probably store 63 different macros for all the gamers who need their gaming mice to play MMOs.

You should be able to purchase the OOMouse at the company website for about $74.99 when it comes available. It is compatible with Mac, Windows, and Linux.

  • BackFlip Cases for iPhones

Here is a case that should be multi-functional. Not only is the BackFlip case a handy accessory to keep your iPhone protected, it comes with a two-way kickstand that should transform your mobile phone into a table top entertainment. With most iPhones carrying provisions for videos, view them in a stable position and share with others. It can also help you in navigating better considering that with the stand, all you have to do is weave your finger and perform the necessary action you require.

The BackFlip case for the iPhone should be a great gift to hand out as well for the coming Holidays. You can check the BackFlip case and see their pricing at their site.

For the people who are using chargers for their phones, you can bet that a large number of them are using second class or replacement chargers rather than the genuine Nokia chargers. And while this does become a cost-friendly alternative, safety and quality are bound to be up for criticism. Nokia takes the initiative to offer a charger exchange program to protect consumers by providing them free authentic charger replacements.

Some of the hazards include exposure of the chargers which could cause problems such as electric shocks. However the exchange is limited to a certain scope of models (AC-3E, AC-3U and AC-4U). If you want to learn more about the program, you can check it out here.

  • The Solar Cell USB Sun Drive

It may look like an over-priced flash drive at $23 but you have to give technology some allowance in making it happen. This solar cell USB key called the Sun Drive comes in various capacities (2.1G, 2.2G, 2.3G and 2.4G). As you would guess, it solicits its power from the sun (solar power) which should become an ideal alternative for mobile phone power (100 minutes of talk time) or as a power source for MP3 players (35 hours). It may seem bulky but this is because of the solar cell and the battery. Overall, this is should be a handy gadget, especially for the ones who have all kinds of gadgets on the go.
