Casio has put out one durable camera with the EX-G1. How tough is it? Its two-layer construction is able to make it withstand a 7 foot drop.

This 12 megapixel camera has a 3x f3 9-5.4 38-114mm lens. It has Casio’s Dynamic Photo mode, and can record video at wide-screen standard-def resolution of 848 x 480 at 30 fps, or 640 x 480 for 4:3 aspect ratio. You should be able to purchase it for about $299.
