Canon A560 and A570 Debuts Two New ``A'' Team PowerShot Stars
Another round of pre-PMA show camera releases include the new Canon PowerShot A570 IS and A560 digital cameras, which are designed primarily for consumers who are new to digital cameras and those who are waiting for an upgrade to an existing cam. The "A" in the series name is for the "AA" batteries that the camera runs off of, which is convenient.

The new Canon PowerShot A570 and A560 cameras have top-quality features including Face Detection technology, Red-Eye Correction, an on-board Intelligent Orientation Sensor, and a large 2.5-inch, 115,000 pixel LCD color display.
The new PowerShots run off the DIGIC III image processor, which has previously only been available in Canon's most advanced digital cameras. The DIGIC III processor allows for faster startup, autofocus, and shutter response times, improved image quality, and more efficient power consumption.

The A570 features 7.1-megapixel resolution, 4x zoom lens, optical image stabilization, and a fast lens. The lens can open up to f/2.6 at wide-angle settings, and f/5.5 at telephoto settings. The camera's range of functions can be expanded with optional converter lenses, including a wide converter, tele-converter, and a close-up lens for macro photography. The A570 can take MultiMedia MMC memory cards, as well as SD memory cards and SDHC memory cards, allowing for a large number of photos to be stored.
The Canon PowerShot A570 will be available for purchase beginning in March 2007 at a suggested retail price of $279.99. The camera comes packaged with two AA alkaline batteries, USB cable, AV cable, wrist strap, 16MB MMC memory card, and Canon's photo software suite.
