Boeing 787 'Dreamliner' Announced
Boeing has presented their latest plane entitled Boeing 787 Dreamliner to thousands of people, not only the ones in the ceremony, but also for the ones at home via satellite television. Strangely enough, this is the first all-new plane made by Boeing in the last 12 years.
While there aren't many changes on the outside, the 787 has drastic changes in the inside. They used alternative materials ? like carbon composite materials and 15 percent titanium ? to make the lighter, therefore it will consume less fuel, the final cost will become cheaper, and of course, it won't create as much pollution as other planes.
Besides the new materials used in the interior, the engines made by General Electric and Rolls-Royce are also new and on the lightweight category, which means that there will be a saving of about 20$ of fuel.
The largest model of the Boeing 787 has space for 330 people and prices can go from $146 million to $200 million.
The use of fatigue-resistant and rust-free composite materials means air in the cabin can be more humid, leaving passengers less dried out and jetlagged after a long flight.
