BlackBerry Users could use a little BlackBerry ShieldBy Mark Rollins - 06/27/2010 7:14:13 PM |
These are screenshots of an application known as BlackBerry Shield. It is an interesting service for all BlackBerry users who have a bad habit of losing their RIM device.
This service will function similarly to Apple’s “Find My iPhone” feature for iPhones with MobileMe accounts. BlackBerry Shield will allow users to track their lost handsets via Google Maps, and even allow them to remotely wipe important information from the device using a web browser. Other features include custom lost and found messages, remote password settings, and alarms to help you find the device when it’s nearby.
The “public testing of this service” should be available soon. Until then, there are other ways to prevent the lost BlackBerry device, such as a Bringrr or ZOMM.
