The growing popularity of Twitter has been rubbing off on most mobile phones available today. And while we already know that there is a specific Twitter program for the iPhone in the TrafficTweet, the Blackberry now has the Twitterlerts!

As you would guess, Twitterlerts for the Blackberry shows practically the same intent for mobile tweeting. With the Twitterlerts from Electric Pockets, BlackBerry users can now monitor the global dialogue by automatically scanning Twitter their chosen topics. It alerts any user of important changes and letting them easily tweet or share tweets directly from their mobile device.

Twitterlerts is now available at their website with an introductory offering of $4.99. A free trial is available for people who want to try it out first before buying the full version.
