We talked about the BlackBerry Messenger 5 earlier this year, but in a couple of days it will released to the public, more exactly on Otctober 7th.

This latest version 5.0 has seen a couple of changes, for the better of course, and the best one seems to be the “reliable contact backup and restore” that means you don’t ever need to worry about losing your contacts. Other good features include transferring files with a size up to 6MB; being able to pick an avatar that will be displayed to your contacts; group functionality so you can share every message and update with a subset community.
