The BlackBerry Kickstart is RIM’s own version of a clamshell smartphone. The phone will be available in two versions, the 8220 and the 8210.

The 8210 has a GPS, a QVGA internal display, quadband quadband GSM/EDGE but without 3G support and a SureType keyboard. There’s also a 2 megapixels camera with video recording capabilities, external display and microSDHC expansion slot. There’s media player, a 3.5 headphone jack and the BlackBerry OS 4.6 to power all up. The 8220 has a WiFi radion in place of the GPS and it will support UMA access for WiFi calls.

The 8210 will be available from AT&T and the 8220 from T-Mobile. Both of them are yet to be officially announced by their carriers and they are rumored to retail for $50 with specific plans and after any rebates. We’ll have to wait to August-September for any official news.
