BlackBerry 8830 World Edition Smartphone
The BlackBerry 8830 World Edition is now available on the Verizon Network. The smartphone is the first Global CDMA/GSM BlackBerry on the network and uses the new "always-on, always connected" Global BlackBerry service. This means one can use the phone in most parts of the part including; Australia, Europe, parts of Africa, Asia, Latin America, the Middle East and North America.
The 8830 supports EV-DO/GPRS network connection for high-speed data transfer and also uses GSM/GPRS (900/1800 MHz) frequencies. The handset is unlike other smartphones on the market is not bulky and measures around 14mm. One also comes across a new Trackball navigation system and Speaker Independent Voice Recognition (SIVR) for Voice Activated Dialing (VAD).
Some other features found on the BlackBerry 8830 World Edition include; Bluetooth? capabilities, dial-up networking and serial port, Media player, Expandable memory option with microSD(TM) card and Speakerphone. The BlackBerry 8830 World Edition smartphone is available today in Verizon Wireless Communications Stores for $299.99 after a $100 rebate with a new two-year customer agreement.
