Powered by Android the Nook Color ships with a proprietary overlay and no Android Market. After the above mentioned hackery, some consumers have been able to get Google’s table-centric Android Honeycomb onto the device. In terms of hardware the Nook Color is noteworthy as well with a 7-inch IPS LCD display with 1024 x 600 resolution, 800MHz processor, 512MB of RAM, 8GB of internal storage, a microSD slot and built-in WiFi. Couple this with the $249 price tag and you can see why so many consumers are clamoring over the Nook Color.

But, the deal has gotten even sweeter as Barnes & Noble has posted the Nook Color on every one’s favorite Internet auction site eBay. At first blush you may note that the listing prices the tablet at the normal $249 – but that’s where the fun begins. After entering in the code ‘CBARNESDD’ at check-out $49 will be shaved off that price tag bringing it down to an even more palatable price tag. Factor in free shipping and this is a deal you can’t miss but act fast as Barnes & Noble is only offering this deal until March 3rd or whenever stock is depleted.
