Audioengine has developed a tiny gadget called the W2 which will bring your iPod wireless connectivity. And I am not talking about the iPod touch which already has WiFi support. The wireless adapter will give you a different kind of WiFi connectivity. It will connect to your iPod and you will be able to use it to connect your iPod to your computers or to your stereo system. That means you could stream music from your iPod to your sound system without using any cables.
The W2 has two components. The receiver connects with the sound system while the sending unit will be connected to your dock connector. The whole ensemble work over 2.4GHz in a 30 foot radius. The W2 will connect with the iPod classic, nano 2G or later and with the touch. The W2 costs $170 and for that price you will get both the sender and receiver, the USB power adapter, the 3.5mm TRS to RCA adapter and an audio cable. Santa is on his way as we speak. It might be too late for asking him for the W2.
