AT&T: We Provide Free Internet but We'll Filter it Soon
AT&T has announced that their 10,000 WiFi hotspots will, from now on, be free of charge to all their subscribers with mobile internet. While the offer was only available to their premium broadband services before, it's now open to the general public. The company is, however, thinking of filtering content passing through P2P networks due to the illegal sharing of copyrighted files. There's no mention of any specific action as of yet, although it'll be interesting to see what AT&T will come up with. In a similar vein, AT&T will also soon offer a high-speed internet access of up to 10Mbps in speed. It will cost US$55 per month and will only be available to subscribers of U-verse, their Internet Protocol-based television service.
