Here I am to report more news from AT&T, and I am happy not to correct myself again. I was telling you how AT&T will finally offer free WiFi in Starbucks locations and apparently that’s working out. Good for them! Today we hear AT&T has upgraded their 3G data network. Now that’s what I call news.
Not only will AT&T offer full HSPA support by the end of June but they will go further. LaptopConnect wireless internet subscribers will be happy to notice speeds of up to 1.7Mbps which is 20% higher than before for your downlinks. As for uplinks, they will go almost 50% up in some areas to a full 1.2Mbps. Those numbers start to look similar to T1 lines and home DSL. Will you make the switch to AT&T for your data’s sake?
Is all this good 3G iPhone marketing or what? And even if you’ll never ever get an iPhone, Steve Ballmer you, AT&T will service all other mobile phones and notebooks too.
Add to that 100 more markets to be added to their 3G coverage count and you get 350 areas in the US which will have high speed AT&T access.
Wonder what AT&T brings tomorrow…
