AT&T announced it will expand its iPhone international data plans. iPhone owners will be able to choose one of the two international plans and add them to their current plans.

There’s a 100MB iPhone plan which will cost $119.99 per month and a 200MB plan which will cost $199.99 per month. Both plans can be added at any time and dropped at any time depending on how much time you’re going to spend abroad. The move is intended to determine consumer to stop choosing pay-per-use data plans which are more expensive.

But why not think outside the box since you are using an Apple phone? There are other possible options in order to avoid data roaming surcharges. Use WiFi whenever it’s available, turn off automatic e-mail checks, keep data roaming in the preset off position. Unlock your iPhone and get a local SIM. Surf the internet at local charges.
