AT&T to Downgrade Its 2G Network?

We have some disturbing news coming from AT&T at this start of the year. Well not exactly news yet but rumors. People say that the company has been reallocating its EDGE service to the 1900MHz weaker band. That means worse coverage for you. This move is supposed to increase their 3G strength. While we can appreciate AT&T’s interest in improving their HSPA service, we are also aware that not all AT&T subscribers own 3G capable phones. Thus the disturbance in the force.

Will the AT&T EDGE support be discontinued before the 3G network becomes more stable or after?
