Here we go and spoil it all for you. We will all be picking up the story of a certain Erica Sadun of TUAW who managed to insert a pay-as-you-go AT&T SIM card on an iPhone 3G. Everything worked out perfectly. The phone calls and the data were there. The phone has been activated with AT&T, whom with else, and it hasn’t been unlocked. Or so she says. And instead of letting you enjoy it everyone will talk about it until AT&T will do something drastic!
So, does that mean that all you have to do is get your pay-as-you-go card in, and the iPhone 3G will work just fine? Imagine people doing that to AT&T. Getting a $199 iPhone 3G, waiting a while and canceling the plan, paying the cancellation fee and switching to a PAYG SIM without having to unlock the phone.
Did anyone else “have” this problem? Are you happy with your PAYG iPhone 3G from AT&T? Enjoy it while it lasts.

awesome phone can i have one
AT & T change their policy that no one can activate “foreign” iPhone even it is sold as legal SIM Free (Hong Kong and Italy) for the MEdia Net. So the iPhone just works as cell phone. It has been changed in this May or June.
Actually, I have paid $19.99 for 100 MB MEdia net but it cannot work for my SIM free iPhone. I asked AT&T personnel for that and just returned my deposit just $10. (My $9.99 has completely gone.)
It’s totally stupid change. (I think the MEdia net completely works the same other smart phones.) And no information has been sent from AT&T or opened their web.
