Well guys, how many of you have purchased an 3G iPhone despite the fact you the much needed 3G coverage? I mean really without any 3G the iPhone looks like just a first generation iPhone with absolutely nothing special. Sure there the GPS but that’s it. All the apps are available for the first generation iPhones out there after upgrading their firmware to 2.0.
Since AT&T is the main partner of Apple in this iPhone endeavor, AT&T subscribers can check now the accurate 3G coverage map from AT&T. They have been continuously upgrading their network for the better part of June. You know, just in time to be iPhone ready. They have about 300 markets and they say they will reach 350 in the near future. By near I mean the end of the year.
However their current 3G coverage map has just been changed. Should you have entered their site and checked your area yesterday, you would have found the map corresponding to March 3G coverage. Coincidentally today they have updated it. All that blue means good for you. Those are the newly 3G covered areas.
So if the map was updated while you were sleeping in line in front of an AT&T store, does this mean you would have gotten the iPhone no matter of 3G availability?
